I remember that my sister and I, when we would be driving between Adelaide and Melbourne, would for some reason always stop here and grab a tea or something. Like, I'm not entirely sure why, especially since this structure is pretty ugly, and I know that I'm not the only person to think so. Yeah, personally, I don't actually think that it is worth it, not for the touristy stakes, but for other reasons I guess it might be okay. read more
While on a tour of Australia's Giant Things, I noticed that the Koala was more than just a statue, but had windows and an inviting door. How can I say no to walking inside a koala? So I said yes. There's a nice tourist boutique inside with a good selection of Oz goods at reasonable prices. I ended up bringing myself home a boomerang from here. (So yes, I'm leaving this review as the most touristy of tourists. So what.) I grabbed a couple of meat pies for lunch and they were reasonably good - maybe on the low side of 4 stars, but the whole experience of eating a meal inside a koala certainly lifts that up. Well worthwhile if you're passing by on the highway. read more
