The Brennannd family holds more wealth than any other Brazilian family. It's a piece of history…read morethat saddened me, because amongst so much poverty you have the outrageous luxury found in this museum. I'm not one to get political, but it's really hard to overlook the pieces showing slavery and how the family made their money to buy the items seen in the castle. A little bitter sweet if you ask me, not sure I would want to see this place again.

This small museum is located inside another location which also has other art exhibits…read more "Mamulengos" are puppets, but more than that--they are puppets from the northeast of Brazil, so they are culturally significant (and fun too!). The entry fee is a paltry $1, and considering how cute the items on display are, I strongly recommend a visit.
