Think long and hard before you spend a few thousand dollars on Gibson and Associates. Here is my experience: I have always hoped for a path to Irish citizenship and knew it was possible through association with a parent or grandparent who was an Irish citizen but Gibson's ad on Facebook claimed it was possible by association with a great-grandparent. With hope and excitement, I contacted them and was told if my activities and connections in Ireland were strong then a case could be made for great-grandparent association. I was told that their success record was "very good". I wanted to believe that and so I did and signed on. That was in May 2020. My application was submitted in July 2020. Repeated contacts with the Irish Department of Justice over the next several years always yielded the same response, "You will hear in due course". In frustration I finally asked my contact at Gibson some very specific question. "How many applications of my sort have you filed with the D.O.J.? How many are still awaiting review for a decision? How many have been approved and how many have been denied?" I stressed that I did not want any names or any sort of identifying information that might violate confidentiality. I simply want numbers to help assess my chances. Despite repeatedly asking these questions, I was refused any answers. Finally, almost six years from the submission of my application I was told by a contact in the Irish D.O.J the he had heard my application was denied. Being used to much confusion and misinformation from the D.O.J. I believed this could not be true because I had received no such notification from my representative at Gibson who would have received and forwarded this decision. I finally decided to contact the Gibson law firm and ask about this. I was ignored for a solid week. I emailed and called. No one replied to my emails and no one at the office beyond the secretary who answered the phone would speak with me or return my calls. Finally, someone did call and admit that my application was denied and they forgot to notify me. My application was denied on March 4, 2026. I finally was told on May 26, 2026. They had known of this decision for over two months! Here's what I have since learned. The Irish government is under great anti-outsider pressure. They have no desire to grant citizenship to anyone not living in the country and are not particularly thrilled with those who have recently immigrated. The rating system to review these applications is prohibitively weighted against anyone not living and working in Ireland. Gibson has flooded them with Facebook solicited application which simply sit in a pile until they grudgingly deny citizenship. There is a less than 5% approval rating. If you are considering asking for Gibson and Associates for their help in this process, require them to give you actual numbers on outcome data. Spend your money wisely. read more

Completed their inquiry form on their website. We were sent an email from Caitlin G. (5/6) to schedule a time for a discovery call. We chose our day and time and scheduled the call (for the following day 5/7 @10am). They confirmed the call date and time and sent us emails reminding us of the call. The next day came for the call and......crickets. No one called us. After about 15 min, I sent an email explaining that no one has called us. Still no call. We waited for an hour (because we really wanted to consult with them). Since then, I have sent four additional emails with ZERO response. They were highly recommended but are apparently too busy for or just don't want new clients. read more

Although I know it is possible to apply for Irish citizenship without the help of a law firm, my sister and I chose to work with Gibson. We could not locate a birth certificate for my grandmother, only a baptismal certificate, census report and ship manifest. They helped make our case that she was, indeed, born in Ireland. And while it took 2 1/2 years to get approved (no thanks to Covid), they persisted on our behalf. Gibson knows how to navigate what can be a complex process. My sister and I were very pleased with them and highly recommend this practice to anyone needing legal help with Irish citizenship issues. read more

A few days ago I received my registration certificate awarding me citizenship in the Republic of Ireland, and I'd like to thank the team at Gibson and Associates for helping guide me through the process that made this possible. Their assistance was invaluable and without which citizenship would still be an unfulfilled dream of mine. They provided laser focused guidance throughout the process which allowed me to gather the family history information necessary to make a successful application. My great-grandfather left Ireland in the late 1800's and brought his family to the U.S., and my citizenship now gives me a firm sense of connection to those who came before me and helped build our extended family. So to those at Gibson and Associates I simply want to say, Go raibh míle maith agat! read more

I enlisted the services of Gibson and Associates to assjst with my application for Irish citizenship through descent from my grandparent. I had this goal in mind for several years but with focus on work and other responsibilities put off the necessary research and collection of documents to be submitted for my applikcatrion. I realized that though I could submit an application on my own, it was too meaningful a goal for me to undertake without the expert advice, guidanceThe and support that Gibson and Associates provided. Their location in Dublin enabled me to have more direct access to the Immigration Department in case of any aspects of the application which needed to be updated. My immigration consultant was always there to provide updates. The assistance I received was invaluable and resulted in my successfully obtaining citizenship through descent. The value was excellent. read more

Myself and my wife have always had good experiences with the legal profession over the years. However, our experience with Gibson & Associates is nothing short of excellent. I was able to Chat Online first to indicate the issues and then had a call from a very helpful man who listened carefully and helped to arrange our first Zoom solicitors meeting. Ms Amanda Walsh, the solicitor, was attentive and supportive. She demonstrated her skill and expertise in legal matters with gentle strength and patience. We were so reassured by her professionalism and her courtesy. From that time, we find ourselves speaking so highly of Ms Walsh. So happy to highly recommend Gibson & Associates and Ms Walsh in particular. read more

I would like to leave a review to show my appreciation towards Sinead Shaw and the work Sinead has done for me over the last couple of years. From the outset Sinead made me feel very relaxed and assured of what the process for the Claim would be and was always a 100% in keeping me up to date with any questions I had. The professional job Sinead did made it very easy and stress free for me. Thank you again for everything. Regards Ian. read more

At such a difficult time when my mum got sick whilst visiting, we needed to apply for permission for her to remain in Ireland for treatment. Gibson assisted us in doing just that. They laid out the approach so clear for us and supported us through the entire process. read more

A dreadful service. Rude and constantly saying they will get back to you but never do.
