They have made my son feel comfortable and the transition was very easy. My son has attended now for almost 2 years. I don't even consider them a daycare anymore but an extended family. They have been such a blessing. My son loves his teachers. They diligently work with him on colors, numbers and ABCs. They have even gone above and beyond with helping him potty train. The owners and the staff are so patient and kind with all the kids. They're especially great with children that have ADHD. My 3 year and is now extremely verbal and potty trained and he won't be four until April. Both my boys have flourished because of the loving environment here. The owners go out of their way to do really fun outings with the kids when the weather is nice. Last year they took them to the garland theater and rented a limo for transportation. They also went to Cat Tailz, Blue Zoo, and the pumpkin patch just to name a few. They're always doing really fun art projects as well. As well as feeding the kids really nutritious and yummy meals throughout the day. They have a really nice outdoor area that is attached to the field behind Millwood kindergarten and sometimes they get permission to use it for the kids. Last year they did a really fun sports camp. They also threw a really fun water party and rented an inflatable waterslide! They also threw really fun holiday parties for the kids and the parents as well. The main reason I bring my kids here is because I can trust these people 100% with my kids. And I don't take that statement lightly because I hardly trust anyone. Some of the negative reviews you might see online have to do with people connected to the previous owners of the facility and parents that are part of the drama and do not speak to the integrity that I have seen for myself.

I definitely feel like this drop in facility is better as far as security and cleanliness goes compared to another drop in facility in our area. It is cheaper than hiring a babysitter and I don't have to worry about cleaning up. I'm having his little brother in May 2012 and I expect Isaac (5) will be seeing a lot of Recess Time!! It is truly a safe haven for a parent who needs a bit of a break for a reasonable cost and less costly than hiring a sitter if you have an appointment! They have an amazing healthy food menu that introduces them to all kinds of unique foods. My 4 year old learned more here in a month than he did in a year at his previous school. The lesson plans are shared weekly to discuss with your child and you can follow up at home to piggyback. The center offers Concious Discipline leasons for parents to help support what they use in class. They are transparent when/if something happens and immediately respond to alleviate further spread of cold/germs etc.. They use Brightwheel allowing access of easy communications between you/teacher/center. Also, some days get picture of fun stuff the littles are doing. They have a wonderful covered outdoor playground for the wet days to get the kids some fresh air. It is slightly more expensive than some of the other places I looked at but well worth it. My kids both love going and most days have a hard time leaving because they are having so much fun. At first I thought this was a low income daycare run by Catholic Charities but it is not. The rates are reasonable, and no childcare provider cares more about the kiddos than Miss Betty and her colleagues. They take an interest in the whole child (and their parents), and I've never felt my babies were better looked after. I cannot say enough about the grace Miss Betty has displayed in some stressful situations, and I trust her implicitly with the most important people in my life-- my children.

Our oldest daughter (who is now 5 years old) had been going to WLPG since she was one year old…read more Finding this daycare was a blessing because her current daycare only looked after infants up until their first birthday. WLPG was just down the road from our house, & was very affordable when compared to other childcare centers. For the most part, our daughter's experience while attending WLPG was positive. However, the negative experiences unfortunately outweighed the good. One of the big issues we had was while we were potty training. We did it over the course of a four-day weekend, & were very explicit with our instructions when she returned to daycare. They were not unreasonable directions either. If she was exhibiting signs that she needed to go potty ("potty dance"), then take her to the toilet. I guess that their definition of "unreasonable" differs from ours because she was constantly coming home wet. What's interesting is that she would rarely ever have an accident at home. She quickly became adept at telling us she had to go. It was only at daycare where she had accidents. We had to talk to WLPG's owner, Nyla, multiple times about this frustration. This went nowhere. Nor did our conversations with staff members. When we picked her up from daycare to find that she had an accident again, we'd ask whoever was working in that room what happened. They never knew; it was always, "Well, I just recently got here & the morning teacher didn't mention anything." Apparently, no one ever talks to anyone. Then it turned to cell phones. Many of the teachers (teenage-early twenties girls) would constantly have their cellphones out instead of watching the children. Sometimes, our daughter would recant an example of how her teacher let her watch videos on her phone. Again, talks with Nyla that went nowhere. Some teachers also had personal visitors with them at daycare. These visitors (usually males, probably boyfriends) were mingling with our daughter as well as the other children. They were not staffed by WLPG so we never had any idea as to whether they were background checked. More conversations, no action. Now recently, we took her out of daycare while her Mom was on maternity leave with our newest baby girl. The expectation (which was clearly outlined prior to going on leave) was that she'd return to WLPG in July; the leave began in May. At the end of May, my wife went in to talk to Nyla about adding our baby to the daycare, but instead learned that WLPG was getting rid of their baby room. Not only that, they were also no longer accepting school-agers unless they had a sibling also going to WLPG. Nyla was going to allow our baby to attend up until the end of the year (which was when the baby room was officially closing). This should have also meant that our oldest would be able to stay through EOY, but Nyla explained that they were "...full for the summer." This means that Nyla actually GAVE AWAY our oldest's spot without first speaking with us. There was no room for confusion on their part with what the plan was. I officially collected my oldest girl's belongings today, & expressed my frustration to some of the staff members when they said they were going to miss her. Next month, she will begin attending daycare at Northeast Youth Center which is about the same price & included far more activities & development for her than WLPG ever did. We are very excited for this & can't wait to start. It's unfortunate that we had such a HORRIBLE experience with WLPG & their owner, Nyla. The way were treated at the end (& really throughout our daughter's time there) was ridiculous, uncalled for, & unprofessional. I would not recommend parents take their children to Where Little People Grow.

I think the first time I drop the kids off I did want to go inside and have a look around what they have to offer but it's more of a safety thing that they don't allow other adults in there. My daughter did mention that there is no doors on the bathroom? But I have no idea what she's talking now because they don't allow us back there?? If somebody figures this out please let me know!!!
