Gilbert Regional Park is near my house and it's a great spot to workout, play, or relax. It features many sport courts- pickleball, tennis, volleyball and basketball. While there's a lot of pickleball courts, I've seen them full with a queue to play. I haven't seen this with the tennis courts or other sport courts. There's a playground with a play structure, swings, slides, a zip-line and more. It's on a hill so there's multiple levels to play on. There's a large splash pad for older children and a separate area for younger children, so less likely your toddler gets run over by a pre-teen not paying attention. The one drawback is there's not a lot of shady places to hide from the blistering summer sun. There's a large grass field but it's sloped and thus not useful for playing flag football or soccer. I believe it's built that way to watch performances at the pavilion. If there are flat grass fields at this park, I have yet to find them; they would be a welcome addition. At the end of the park there's a lake with a walking path around it. The largest ramada is on the lakefront and looks to 100-150 people. They have smaller ramadas around to rent as well. Overall, Gilbert Regional Park is a nice clean new park with many amenities. Everything is still in good working condition and there's a lot of open space where everyone isn't concentrated into a small area. read more

I visited the park on a Saturday morning at 8am at the-end of October. The weather was fresh and it was an amazing morning to be outside. The park is well taken care of and offers a variety of activities- 1 mile walking path around the lake, fishing, friendship garden, children's playground + splash pad, basketball, pickleball, sand volleyball, tennis and undercover ramadas spread throughout the park, plenty of grass lawns and the bathrooms appeared clean. It is a great park to spend time outdoors. I really enjoyed my time there exploring the different areas and excited to see the growth and expansion of the park in the future. read more

Really cool park with unique structures! I've been here for events in the past but never have taken my son to play here until today, and he loved it! As a speech language pathologist I also love the communication board they have here! Was really clean, they have bathrooms, a splash pad, and it is massive. Definitely will have to make the drive out now that we know how cool it is! Glad we checked it out! read more

Very clean and so much fun!! There's a toddler area and a big kid jungle gym. Also a fantastic splash pad that is fenced in. It gets really busy though. Go early in the morning to beat the crowds (I think we were there by 9, it got busy by 10). read more

great park! huge, and awesome for organizing family events - my family and friends will often do a thanksgiving picnic here. lots of clean bathrooms and nice grass to sit on. pickleball was a little bit intense when i went last night. it seems like most people are quite annoyed if you're a newbie and interested to learn how to play. lots of courts however and even though it was crowded for a monday night, the line goes by fast! will definitely only be bringing 4 people or more to play moving forward, as it was a little too competitive for a beginner to only come as a pair. lesson learned! read more

Huge playground, a large lake for fishing, and many trails looping around the park. Definitely a fun place to go to, wish it wasn't so hot out this summer so I could go more often. This is our favorite park in Arizona! One of the reasons is because my kids Love the ziplines. It's big and has everything you could need in a park: playground, splashed, lots of covered ramadas, nice bathrooms, grass, hills, open field, fishing pond, walking path, tennis, pickleball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and dog park. The playground is multi level and has areas for all ages. The toddler section is in the middle and shaded and secluded from bigger kids. The only negative is that because it's so big and multi level is easy to lose a kid. Because of this I like going during the week when it's not so busy. Grab food nearby and hang out for a few hours! Make a day of it by grabbing lunch or dinner in cute downtown Gilbert and getting ice cream from Topo. read more

This last weekend was the second Boots In The Park concert held at Gilbert Regional Park. 15,000 people attended performances by Dylan Scott, Trace Adkins and Chris Young. This was so close to our house that my husband and I rode our bikes to, and from, the concert! We attended last year, and this year. Together, my husband and I have been to over 150 concerts. I can honestly say, with that kind of concert experience, I've been impressed the way this operation has gone for these events. The drink lines are not crazy long (adequate number of servers), plenty of portable toilets and ample parking. The line to get into the concert was quite long (maybe not enough lines for bag checks/ticket taking?) and to leave the area the traffic is crazy at the end of the night (only 2 traffic exits and no where convenient for Über or Lyft to pick up) but it, overall, was a great experience! The park frequently has entertainment, activities and food trucks. I highly recommend this park! read more

Such a big park. Love the water area during warm days. Can get quite busy with families running around, but there is plenty to do.

This is the most comprehensive park. It is very well thought-out and well-designed. This is a great investment in the gilbert community! 1. The parking is plentiful. It is never full. It is very easy to find parking, and I never have an issue. 2. The lake is spectacular. There are ducks roaming freely in their lake. When you look around, you'll see the beautiful mountain and sunlight. 3. There is a jogging path around the lake. This is ideal for exercise. It is very clean and easy to get on the path. 4. There is an interesting urban landmark. If you love to take pictures, this is an opportunity to do so. 5. The grass field is wide open! This is ideal to fly a kite on a windy day. Honestly, this is an amazing park that everyone should know about if they reside in gilbert. It's very open and family-friendly. Not to mention that there is a playground for kids, water fountain, several tennis courts, and endless volleyball courts. You can also go fishing at the lake. The activities are endless! This review is regarding my visit on Sunday, Jan 31, 2021. Well it has been a year and four months since the Gilbert Regional Park officially opened to the public. They now have some first phase additions they can brag about. Three months ago, the fishing pond marked their opening with a fishing derby. Yesterday I saw nine people with their fishing gear attempting to catch rainbow trout, sunfish, grass carp, bass or catfish. I didn't see any successors but did see many dead fish floating on the surface. :( I spotted a family using the park grills. There were people playing sand volleyball, some playing basketball, tennis, pickleball and others racing their remote controlled vehicles on the undeveloped dirt mounds. The walking paths around the recreation area are nice. Clean and wider than your average walkways but short in length. On a nice day, be prepared-this park is BUSY! The town of Gilbert just held a virtual presentation eleven days ago and is currently offering a feedback questionnaire on their website. It will be nice to see phase two when it is developed. read more

One of the nicest tennis / pickleball courts in the Gilbert Chandler region, in my opinion. The courts are so new and clean. There are 6 tennis courts, which usually aren't too busy - I have had to wait in the stands a couple of times. There's also a way to reserve ahead of time if you're a more frequent user. There are seats in between each set of two courts and a shade covering - so nice when it's a little warmer. There are around 18 pickleball courts that are also very clean. It gets very busy during the night time but the wait is never too long, as there are so many courts to rotate through. All in all, I love these courts and love the area! read more

Wow-this park has it all! After visiting a neighboring park that was closed for refurbishment we stop by Gilbert Regional Park and were pleasantly surprised at how awesome their play area was! It was clean and all play equipment was in perfect shape. There were play areas perfectly suited to many different ages from toddler to teen. Unfortunately the day we visited there was a school from Chandler,Archway Classical Academy on a field trip and they were letting the kids run absolutely wild. I have never seen such a thing. The chaperones/teachers were not paying attention to what the kids were doing at all. I saw them running and knocking over little kids,screaming, and acting just utterly out of control. Completely unsafe. Not a reflection on the park at all but a bit of a bummer because nobody else could really use the park while the two school bus fulls of kids were there for nearly two hours. If you go and see it packed with school kids maybe leave and come back once they are gone. We can't wait to come back to the park and explore more! We will bring our older kids next time. There is truly something for every age to enjoy at this park! read more

Lols I've been taking my minis to this park since it opened two years ago and it's made a lot of great changes with more parking, volleyball/tennis/pickle ball courts, the amphitheater, shade over the lower playground swings, a man made lake for fishing with a path for walking, and getting rid of the splash pad puddles of leftover water (that was so eeew). FYI- courts are first come first serve * This park as a whole is pretty cool, a lil newer and offers a lot to do compared to other parks I've been to around the area. Multiple clean private bathrooms with the outside sinks and dryers are a big plus. Nice amount of ramadas around the playground. I'm not gonna nit pick on the architecture or tiny production details of this or that. Kids don't care about that stuff so why should we? * The playground is split into two, with the lil kid structures at the bottom and the bigger kid stuff and zip line swings up top. So yes one con can be that it is so big that it may be a challenge if you have more than one kid running in different directions and you're trying to keep your eyeballs on all of them. Plus it does get crazy busy during the nice weather days but I noticed the crowds dwindle by lunch time. But nothing bad that would keep us from not going here! * The splash pad is gated and a good size with enough water fixtures to keep the kids entertained. When summer hits, just get ready for everyone and their mom to be there. Oh can we have a lil bit more shade around the pad pretty please? Ok thanks! read more

After all the rain, we decided to meet up at the park for the kiddos to burn off their energy. I have been wanting to check out this new park. It was about 1 hour from the west valley. Was it worth the drive? Oh yeah! This park had a zipline, swings, clean bathrooms, jungle gyms, fast slides and so much more. It was definitely fun for all ages. I love this park so much. It's so beautiful and the playground is a child's paradise. Everything is clean and maintained and the equipment is so fun for kids. They have a wonderful splash pad. That's huge with lots of shoot up waterfalls throughout. It's very grassy and nice walking paths to go around the lake and look at the ducks. My only complaint about this park is the lake. I just don't get it. It's dirty and brownish green and it stinks bad. There are always dead fish along the shore. You go to Desert breeze in Chandler and it's beautiful. The water is blue and pretty. I just don't understand why Gilbert can't clean up this beautiful lake. Other than that it's a 5 star park. They also hold lots of concerts here and they have Pickleball and tennis courts. It's such an awesome park. Please Gilbert, clean up the dirty stinky lake. I can't imagine fishing in that lake and actually eating what's in it. Those ducks and fish deserve better and so does the Gilbert community. read more

One of our favorite parks to visit. They have a great splash pad and large playground for all ages. I find it hard to keep track of kids because it's so large so I recommend going with more than one adult. The only down side is the lack of shade and the cement slide is extremely dangerous. read more

SPLASH PAD REVIEW! We were visiting friends in Arizona and this was the highlight of the trip as my son LOVED it. Totally thought there would be some admission charge, parking fee, etc. but nope...free! For the water area, there was a ton of various fountains and playroom for the kiddos and seated areas for the parents. I couldn't help it and ran around with my son. When I first took my grandkids here, their jaws dropped. The park is huge compared to those we'd been going to, and is full of fun play equipment. There are two small zip lines, and my 8-year-old granddaughter kept returning to the one with the bucket seat, which I had to push to start. We did that until I could push no more. My grandson liked the zip line where he had to stand on a small disk. The slides are awesome, as is the large climbing structure. It offers many climbing challenges and routes to get from one section to another. And there are swings! It's amazing how many parks don't have them. The bathrooms are clean, there are a number of picnic tables. And there's a large splash pad (which is temporarily turned off because of the corona virus situation). This is only the first phase of what the park will eventually look like. It's built on several levels, not just one big flat area, so it's quite visually appealing. read more

What a wonderful park! We've come here multiple times to play tennis and basketball and the courts are extremely well maintained. Keep in mind that all of the sports courts are on a first-come, first-served basis! We really appreciate that there are push-button controls for the lights for when it gets too dark - great if you want to play in the evening. There's also some dedicated shade and seating on the courts - perfect for resting in between games. There's plenty of parking all around which is always a good thing. It gets a little busy during the early mornings and evenings but that's expected. This is a huge park so there are plenty of things to do. There's swings, slides, tennis, basketball, sand volleyball, pickleball, splash pads, picnic tables, CLEAN bathrooms, a lake for fishing and strolling, an amphitheatre and many other offerings. This is a great place if you're looking to spend some time outdoors and is suitable for all ages. read more
