They had four floor, with part of top floor having an open terrace with some toys in it. Alongside museum, they also had summer camp and activity classes. The first floor had the reception desk, small gift shop, obstacle course, and a plasma sphere that really passed electric shock, we felt it in our fingers lol. Second and third floors had lots of play space for kids. Fourth floor had few things around space. All the staff members were very friendly. Most of the area of was clean and maintained. We spent about an hour here. Seemed really popular with locals as many families were there with their kids.

The towpath is located nearby and we enjoyed taking a stroll on the gorgeous day to enjoy the area. To access the actual Paw Paw Tunnel, which is an amazing feat of engineering, we drove out to the Paw Paw Tunnel Campground and walked out and back from there.

Shortly after the relief of being under cover I was mesmerized by the two-story museum and the diverse collection of antique horse-drawn carriages. Not only were the various carriages beautifully restored but they signage was great and the volunteer docent was friendly and informative but not over-bearing. The pride in this collection of carriages from the late 1800s and early 1900s is evident. I liked the whimsical beach-going carriage and the macabre casket carriages. I also found the golf cart carriage interesting. This little museum is definitely worth a visit.

The owner is a…read morevery well-known painter, James Groves- who has painted a variety of works from Cumberland paintings, to battlefield paintings dating to the Civil War, to paintings in the region of landscapes. The first thing I can say is if you are planning to stop by here- PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE allot a hefty amount of time for it. James is a wealth of information and these works that are the size of walls are so detailed and researched that he will explain why he painted what where he did in great detail. You have to come here once. It's an area and region MUST! They also have originals, prints, and framed works for sale as well- I have several! If you google James Groves and are from the Cumberland area you'll immediately know what works I mean- from paintings of downtown, to the churches on Washington Street, to the overlooks in the area and in the Narrows. Large rooms, easy to see all the formations in the walkways are easy to pass through. Quite a few steps for those who are challenged to do physical walking but otherwise it's pretty cool. Been to quite a few caverns and this was one of the better ones and a lot to see.
