The venue gave us the perfect balance of outdoor charm and indoor comfort. On the day of the wedding one thing I noticed as I walked in to set up; was everything was clean and the venue smelled fresh and clean. The ceremony was held on the patio, followed by a reception inside, and it easily accommodated 130 guests in rounds. From what I understand if we did rectangle family style we could have accommodated more, and had more design flexibility. From the very beginning, Eric was professional, welcoming, and a pleasure to coordinate with. He took the time to meet with us beforehand to go over details on multiple occasions, which made the planning process smooth and stress-free. I had the opportunity to meet his other half, Meghan as well. She was genuinely nice. She is a hairstylist in the area and although we did not utilize her services, and if you are all about timing and being efficient then this might be for you; it is a one stop shop just in separate locations. If you want to get your hair done for your special event then you should reach out to them and ask for a consultation, it is one less thing to coordinate. Even though I have experience in coordinating weddings, I appreciated Eric's insights. It is clear he knows their venue best, and his suggestions helped everything come together seamlessly. Once he recognized my ability to coordinate, and my attention to detail, he allowed me to step in, and the collaboration between the two of us made the entire experience fun, enjoyable along with some friendly banter between all of us. The Barn itself is a beautiful space, versatile enough for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. Between the atmosphere, the attentive staff, and Eric's guidance, the entire day felt effortless and memorable. I would highly recommend The Barn for weddings, private parties, or any special event. It's a hidden gem in Tres Pinos, and we're grateful for the wonderful experience!

If you're considering this place I strongly suggest you look for inspo on how you want it to look because it really is a blank slate. You get to bring in your own caterer and decor which is nice. We went with Elma's Catering based in San Jose but omg their food is amazing. We still get compliments on the food. I know they say your guests don't remember the food. But ours did which makes me feel good about our decision. Elma's catering did most of our event which I highly recommend from food to the draping from Pillar to pillar and indoor/outdoor Photo Booth. I saw other people enclosed their guest using tents. Personally, I feel that's blocking the beautiful scenery in the back. We decided to do pillars and drape them around so the space feels open yet elegant and decorated. We also brought in someone to do our Italian string lights from Chic Event rentals. They did beautiful lighting for a romantic night vibe. Casa Maria does have a flood light which did came in handy towards the very end. But I wanted the night to be more romantic and less of a bright light in your face while dancing. We used the inside for cocktail hour and had the guest sit down outside for dinner. I loved that our guest had places where they can look around or step outside for a smoke on the deck. If you're looking for a nice romantic vintage Spanish vibe this is it. They are strict on alcohol but what we found is that people really like micheladas. We had shmack_shak_ cater our micheladas and they were a hit. We bought all the alcohol and also had a bartender from Elma's catering come and manage the bar indoors. You can definitely have a really nice wedding here if you're willing to dress it up as much as you want. It's a really beautiful and historic place.

It has amazing views all around it and the hall itself had a rich Spanish/Mediterranean feel to it. Very eloquent which Call's for minimal decor since the venue really speaks for itself. The venue staff was very kind and helpful. William who runs it was very attentive and answered all my questions in a timely manner anytime I had any. He was there the day of the wedding to open up the venue for us so our team could prepare for the arrival of our guests. He manned the bar the evening of and our guests really enjoyed him. He had the bar as fully stoked as he could keep it but our people kept him on his toes. He had to do three liquor runs throughout the event because our people kept buying drinks. The venue itself was pretty useful. We were able to use the stage for our band, the courtyard for our dinner and special dances, the kitchen for our families to warm up food, & the reception hall to have our ceremony. This venue is very easy to use and I'd highly recommend it. The only other thing I would highly recommend is making sure to have your event fall or early spring as San Juan Bautista can be very hot. We got the perfect date doing it Labor Day weekend. Also, make sure your team works in a timely manner if not they will eat into your deposit if they stay longer than the time allotted to clean up. Disclaimer: If you are LGBT you cannot legally get married on the Casa Maria grounds as it is part of the Catholic Church. However, the loop hole we found is getting married ahead of time and having a ring exchange ceremony at Casa Maria in front of our friends and families worked just fine.

The price was right, the coordinator Charlene was so helpful and the place was so beautiful and simple. Things I loved: -Outside patio for outdoor ceremony -bridal room -food was tasty - open bar, we did a his and hers drink -very spacious for 200 people - restrooms were nice and clean - very intimate setting - space did not feel crowded - catering team was friendly and quick to help clear tables Wedding planning is sooooo overwhelming but it felt so nice to have Charlene help us every step of the way. She was very prompt with responding to our questions and we even hired her as our onsite coordinator for our wedding day which was the best decision we could have made. Everything for the most part went smooth and I never felt stressed. I am only giving them 4 stars because I do feel like they can make some improvements with their food tasting. My husband and I were a little disappointed that we had to taste the same food versus each trying something different. We expressed our concerns and they were able to accommodate us with a second tasting since we were not satisfied with our first tasting. Also, we told the catering team that we had a friend that was vegan. They served him a plate with salad and strawberries. In a way that was our fault for not checking in with them with what the actual plate would be. My friend was a good sport about it but I felt so bad because he was really hungry. Lastly, our package included one hour to clean up after the ceremony ended but all my guests were rushed out by security leaving just my parents, myself and a couple of bridesmaids to gather our belongings. If they didnt rush everybody out we could have had more people help with taking down our personal decorations and not felt so rushed and stressed to get out. At this point Charlene was no longer in the building since she was with us since the morning but I do hope that in the future security respects that one hour and does not kick guests out. Overall, beautiful venue, amazing coordinator and great price! Despite the small complaints and hiccups, I would highly recommend this place as a wedding venue.

Our guests were so impressed with this venue and how put together and smooth everything was, they said it felt like a destination wedding with how unique and private it is (even though we all live relatively close)! It has a beautiful rustic feel without being to themed, with first class amenities of all forms! In addition to the gorgeous functional venue, Christin (our day of coordinator) is absolutely incredible! She stuck with us for over a year as we planned, had to reschedule due to COVID, planned again, then had to reschedule a second time due to COVID. She was so responsive, helpful, and creative in all aspects of the day and helped make my constantly changing vision a reality! I changed my mind on the flowers until the very last minute and she was able to pull together the most gorgeous floral arrangements that were more beautiful than I even imagined. Her team was also so great the day of. Casey (our personal assistant for the day) was there for my husband and I every moment we needed her. She made sure we did not get dehydrated, hungry, or overwhelmed by guests at any point. She helped me stay calm right before the ceremony making sure I didn't pass out from nervousness. She helped make sure we were comfortable with pictures and that we had everything we needed up until the minute we drove away for the evening. The rest of the team was also fantastic. The decorations were above and beyond and they made sure our guests felt comfortable and cared for. During the reception they did an amazing coordinated reveal that I won't spoil for anyone, but man it wowed our guests! This venue is also a wonderful option because they do it all! You can choose other vendors if you like but they provide the catering, the DJ, the flowers, the decorating, and the bartenders! All we really had to do separately was the Cake and booze! DJ Sergio is one of the nicest and most considerate people you'll ever meet and a darn good DJ. He got people to dance who I have never in my life seen dance. It was fun and light and all timed so well. He got to know our music style and matched it perfectly. The ceremony music was timed so well and there was never a moment were someone wasn't dancing at the reception! Another incredible aspect of this venue besides it beauty, secluded-ness, and wonderful staff, is the fact that there is a honeymoon cabin on the property! This is no shabby cabin, this my friends was luxurious! It is tucked up behind the venue in the hills making it a close but private place to escape to at the end of the night. This was also a perfect place for my bridesmaids to spend a long relaxed morning getting ready with me. It has a kitchen and comfortable seating (along with a breathtaking master sweet and huge bathroom) and made us all feel so special while getting our hair and makeup done. There are also adorable long horn cattle grazing the hillsides on the drive up! We had several guests come in from long distances and just five minutes down the road is a Thousand Trails Campground, which we all stayed at the night before and many people stayed at the night of. This location has Cabins as well as tent and RV sights. Overall this place was more than we ever could have imagined. We are so grateful to have found this place and for all the hard work their team put into it. If you want a fun, secluded, beautiful, and luxurious country venue for your wedding day, we highly recommend here!

My daughter entered into the horse world via typical horseback lesson experience. She received excellent instruction in rider form at a top riding school but she became bored with just jumping on a horse for the purpose of getting through the transitions and jumps while looking good. She craved a deeper bond with her equine partners. So, being a brand new horse person myself, and only to support my daughter from afar, I found Stephanie in a Google search. I figured some horseback lessons that simulated actual horse ownership would cure the bug. I also decided that since this experience would be more than just tacking up the horse and riding, I decided to take lessons too so I could supervise my daughter from the ground. When my daughter first started riding, I wouldn't even pet the horses, and I was the least likely candidate to be a horse owner, that's how resistant I was to this whole horse fever she caught. I thought for sure these true "horsemanship" lessons would end this nonsense. Well, Stephanie didn't cure the horse bug. She made it worse, it was contagious, and I caught it. She stirred a new passion in my daughter and I that opened up a whole new world where horses are now more than a hobby, we have a new lifestyle. Fast forward to today, we are the humble owners of a beautiful, dramatic, and sensitive thoroughbred gelding and Stephanie is our trainer. Forget thinking that this is your typical trainer situation where the expert does the hard work of training your horse and you come out only to ride and experience the fruit of that labor. Stephanie is teaching US how to train our horse. Her lessons involve us in every part of the equine from the how the horse thinks to how the horse moves - on good days and bad days. Some of our best lessons, even when we first started, have been in (and continue to be in) imperfect conditions where we were making mistakes and Stephanie patiently taught us what was going on with the horse mentally, how we created the situation, and how to correct it. She will not do it for you, and she will make you take it slow to do things right. You can do things fast, or you can do them right. Thankfully, she has the patience and calm demeanor of a saint with kids and nervous, newbie, somewhat resistant, older adults. Stephanie just has something special to offer people that is vitally lacking in our fast paced, over tech'd, and over-achieving culture. The character qualities that are being instilled in my daughter (and myself) through this journey is not something the fanciest training barn or most expensive private school could ever teach. It is hard work that teaches you how to slow down, be present, and be teachable. Though the word has lost its meaning, Stephanie is a true natural horseman and she will teach you how to understand and communicate with the horse from the moment you make contact. If you want a truly fulfilling equine partnership that is unlike anything offered at training and lesson barns, contact Stephanie. Your horse will thank you.
