It would have taken hours to get a tow and they had no idea where to take our vehicle. Called a couple of shops. Our vehicle was a Honda and there weren't too many Honda dealerships in that area. AAA gave us the number of a Honda dealership but when I called, it turned out to be Honda motorcycles, not cars, but he was very, very helpful ( I think that was Great Bend Honda Kawasaki). He suggested Steve at Steve's Auto repair & Tires because he did good work and he really knew Honda and Toyotas. Called Marmie Dodge and they didn't have time to do the work but they were able to tow our vehicle to Steve's. We were at Steve's merci but he had it fixed and going in no time at all. We arrived at his lunch hour but he stayed and got us going. He went above and beyond. He really knows his stuff and didn't rip us off. Very knowledgeable and a nice guy too (and so was his wife).

However, when I went in August of 2025, I left my truck, said I'd be back with wife to pick it up. One hour and a half later, I returned, truck still sitting where I left it, and they had not done a simple oil change. Customer and staff had arrived late said the desk man. I saw two people who came in obviously after me get their vehicles. They got to mine and did oil change. It was transparent to me that they had let my truck sit (because I was out on errands, presumably) while they bumped foks before me multiple times. All they had to do is call and tell me of the delays, or they needed to push people in front who were waiting. I would have said, well, ok. It was the dishonesty that I did not appreciate. Makes me wonder about service. Word of mouth is a real bear for or against business. Just be honest if there is a delay. I'm retired. Not like I have a school board meeting.

Yesterday, I was driving back to Fort Riley, KS from visiting family in California for the holidays. Right before entering the town of Great Bend my engine light started flashing and when I pulled over to see what was going on, my car died on me. Triple A towed me to Walmart where they couldn't do anything for me. So I luckily got my car started and drove to the next nearest auto repair shop where he told me he couldn't work on my car either. I made calls to all the places that said were still open and the last & only place that said they could try to help me was this place, Tournear Racing Performance & Automotive Repair! I'm active duty and needed to report back for duty before the end of the day yesterday. I felt so relieved when I got there and got told that my car would get worked on and ready to go! The entire process was stress free, homey, & knowledgeable! They found the problems the last mechanic had made to my engine to cause a domino affect to my car & went ahead & fixed it all up! They took initiative to look deeper & make sure my car was safe to drive! Honestly, in California people would've taken advantage of a 22 year old female and would have done the half ass minimal work for a high price!
