Gina's is my favorite breakfast spot not only in the area but maybe that I've ever had. They make the best food and it's such a cozy little restaurant! You get so much food for a good price and I've never been disappointed. They have really good lunch too. Without the recommendation of a friend, I probably never would have found this place, but I am glad I did! I came for breakfast and they have a nice sized menu, plus many daily breakfast and lunch specials. They also have seasonal coffee drinks, plus many syrups to add to your coffee, hot chocolate, iced tea or lemonade. My friend had the garlic chicken BLT Panini lunch special (chicken breast, bacon, lettuce, tomato and garlic mayo) with battered French fries and I had the Mexican skillet (home fries, chorizo sausage, jalapeno, tomatoes, onions, & cheddar cheese...and I added avocado) and they were both great. Outstanding!!! This place doesn't look like anything special from the street, nor is the decor inside. It's nice and comfortable though, and the staff is so friendly and does a great job. But the food is where this place shines!!! So many things on the menu looked great as did the daily specials written on chalkboards around the restaurant. I chose the Mexican skillet. It was an awesome combo of eggs over easy(as I chose them), chorizo, peppers, cheese and salsa. Yummy!!! My friend had an omelette which he loved. Coffee was great too. Be sure to check the specials written on the chalkboards and dry erase boards before ordering off of the standard menu. There is practically an entire second menu written on the walls, and some of the seasonal selections are fantastic. 2. Be prepared to wait for a seat -- this place is popular, and for good reason. Luckily, the wait never seems to be too long. However, if time is a factor, you can always call in your order for carry-out. 3. Finally, note the somewhat nonstandard days and hours of operation. Plan your trip accordingly, and try to avoid peak days and hours to cut down on your potential wait time. Overall, this place is a gem. Gina's is one of the best places in the Metro Detroit area to get breakfast. Hands down. That is a very bold statement and I don't care what your opinion is because mine is that it is fantastic. Look through the pictures and other reviews and every single person will agree with each other. You can get fantastic coffee or craft type of breakfast drinks or juices, wonderful egg or pancake dishes, or all sorts of other types of creations. I have been here many times and forgotten to check in because I've been so eager to get in my seat and eat that it is just too much to think about pulling out my phone. For someone who loves to Yelp and take pictures of things, that's a big statement. Gina has been around for a while and moved locations in the st. Clair Shores area, but there's a reason that I feel like it will be around for many many more years to come. Delicious breakfast. Great service. I've been coming to Gina's cafe for nearly 4 years now. It used to be 2-3 times a week with some friends of mine, I haven't gone in almost 6 months but just recently visited agin. All i can say is they have not changed a bit, FOOD IS STILL AMAZING plenty of options to choose from almost to many. It's very hard to choose between a savory breakfast or something sweet. Service here has been hit or miss in the past as far as waitressing goes, but for the most part it's pretty solid. The food is very good. My recent trip to Gina's I ended up getting my usual which is the hollandaise omelette, with a side of home fries. As always the omelette came out hot and delicious, never a fail. The home fries were amazing as always. From previous times it was hit or miss due to portion sizes at times they'd give you a small handful or a decent size and this time was very satisfying. I typically get the coffee with my breakfast, which they coffee they have is freshly grounded in house and is always amazing. They also have a variety of specialty drinks like hot chocolate and many more. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious and fairly priced place to have brunch You won't be disappointed!! read more

Definitely 5 star. Amazing food, great variety, great service. I mean what brakfast place uses hungarian peppers with a breakfast skillet. The best! My wife got the pumpkin french toast. Not only is this place super homely and cute, they also have a huge selection of food. I ended up getting the Wild Berry Cream Cheese French Toast w/ a side of hash browns and it was absolutely amazing. My only problem is that you can tell the waitress doesn't like her job that much. Just takes your order and that's about as much interaction you get out of them. But the service IS quick. I'll definitely be returning! read more

We loved our visit to Gina's! It was pretty crowded but we got seated relatively fast for how busy it was. If you have a group of more than 4 this is probably not the place for you. They only have 2 tops and 4 tops. I did see 6 people jam into a booth made for 4, though impressive, probably not too comfortable. The food was wonderful and the restaurant was very clean! I can't say enough good things about this place, what a hidden gem. The service is absolutely top notch and the food is amazing. My personal favorite is the Country Benedict. I'm not even a big fan of hollandaise sauce but theirs is soooo creamy and delicious. I'm super picky about sausage gravy (I won't usually eat it at a restaurant) and I can very easily say that theirs is better than mine! And I never thought I'd say this but their fried potatoes (home fries) are just as good as my mama's. The menu selection is vast and they have so many different coffee drinks and teas, there's surely something delicious for literally everyone. The only downside that I can think of is that they're not open Monday-Wednesday so make sure you're mindful of that when planning a visit. read more

My fiancé parents come here every weekend with friends of theirs, but this was my first time here. The latte was ridic big and way too sweet. My son loved the Mickey pancakes and sausage. The Greek omelet was ok, the home fries were good since I ordered them well done. My fiancé ordered Gina's Special, he said it was good but the ham could have been a little better. One of the restaurants where I always feel welcome! The servers are awesome, and they all help each other to bring refills of coffee or water and ensure the food comes to the table quickly and hot! They must truly care about the business and the product they serve. The food is to die for. I've explored the menu safely and I haven't had a bad meal. This place was a wonderful surprise with a fantastic menu, especially their breakfast specials/specials handwritten on their board!!! The chicken noodle soup was the most delicious I've ever had, I loved the skinny noodles in it, just the right amount of vegetables, the broth was very tasty and not salty at all like other soups!!! Their corned beef sandwich was perfectly grilled and very tasty especially with the mustard/mayo spread, instead of using the thousand island dressing, they opened my eyes to a better/tastier corned beef!!! I have been here a few times in the past (pre Covid) and dined in the restaurant for breakfast. The food is good, but I remember the service not to be so great, so I haven't been back in a while. I was in the area recently and decided to grab lunch carry out. They have a sign in board in the foyer if you want to dine in. They will come outside to get you or you could probably wait in your car if the weather isn't so great and they will just call/text you. They do have a few chairs socially distanced outside if you want to wait there for your table. There were quite a few people dining in for lunch and the counter was full. My order wasn't ready when I got there so I paid (be aware they are charging a 3% service fee for credit cards) and went outside to wait for it to be done. One of the girls brought my order out to me and I was on my way. I got the turkey club wrap with fries. Let. Me. Tell. You. This sandwich was ON POINT! It was as big as my head, full of turkey, bacon, cheese. And those fries. Crispy, hot, so yummy!! Their ranch is a bit thick for my liking but still delicious. The wrap is either a tomato or red pepper tortilla and it was very flavorful, perfect for this sandwich. I will be back soon! Keep up the great work. read more

I had a cannoli cream filled french toast and it was loaded up with so much whipped cream I couldn't even finish it. Just awesome stuff.
