Back to Giovanni's last night with friends. Ordered my favorite linguine with white clam sauce, clams and scungilli, when dish came out there was one solitary clam on top. Went through the pasta and couldn't find more clams. Called over our favorite server and asked what happened---- did the rest of the clams fall off the plate? My husband's parents love this place so we had to try. We started with the complimentary bread and garlic knots, very yummy. I got the chicken parm with a side of sautéed broccoli (one of the best I've ever had!) and my husband got the chicken cutlet alla Giovanni as a recommendation from the waitress with a side of buttered spaghetti and LOVED IT! Plus we got the homemade tiramisu which was to die for. The restaurant is on the smaller side but feel homey. The waitress was very helpful. Can't wait to go back and try the pizza! read more

We have known about this place for a long time but never got around to visiting there. It is in the corner of a shopping center so parking varies. We had a really nice waitress and I asked her name and now I can't remember it (it was either Barbara or JoAnne???). Anyway, I had my mind on getting linguine & clam sauce but I didn't know if I should trust it, so I went with linguine & meatballs w/meatsauce ("gravy" if you're from NJ!). My girlfriend had a pepperoni Stromboli. The food was fantastic! Of course they served bread with the meal including a couple of garlic knots. I looked over and saw a lady eating the linguine & clam sauce and I will definitely get that next time we go there! I never had to wait for drink refills and we topped it off with a shared cannoli. Left there with a full belly and the staff wished us well and welcomed us back as we were leaving. Prices were reasonable considering the nice servings they offered. Giovanni's is a dependable little family ItalIan-American neighborhood restaurant with healthy portions of properly cooked pasta dishes green vegetables, and italian soups and desserts. Think garlicky linguini with clams, garlicky angel hair with shrimp or broccoli rabe, hearty mussels marinara, soft Italian bread on the side, big meatballs, hearty minestrone... you know the drill. There really is nothing notable about the menu (other than the presence of several green vegetable options), but the cooking IS notable. Simple ingredients and simple preparations like aglio y olio done right. The dining room isn't much to look at but service is friendly. Everything is well priced. Takeout is prompt. Go here for surprisingly delicious traditional Italian American food with large portions. Salads and chicken dishes would be my recommendations but really everything here has been very good! It's in a strip mall and the ambiance is old school so I wouldn't consider it a fancy first date type of place if you are trying to impress a NYer but maybe a third date would be ok. We got this pizza delivered - the pizza was great ( a little salty ) but the crust made up for it. My only complaint was the Caesar salad had the dressing already on it when it was delivered , which made it hard to save the rest of the salad for the next day. read more

However, it's with huge disappointment and literal distaste that I regret to inform anyone human to steer clear of this establishment. The owners should be ashamed of themselves. My order was a 10' pizza , kids spaghetti w meat sauce, what was to be chx Milanese sandwich that was only chx cutlet on bread, a brown sack of stale bread w no oil, and a single slice of cheesecake. $65 plus Order was takeout and it's with no stretch of the imagination that these establishments knowingly put out garbage because there's really no way to call them out or make them correct the bullshit. Huge servings at reasonable prices at Giovanni's in Palm Beach Gardens. The eggplant parmigiana served with a side of pasta or steamed veggies is enough for several people or lunch the next day. The Rundown: simple family Italian restaurant with a passionate team and authentic flavors. The review: We stopped in for dinner, I was not expecting much but the inside was cute - simple Tuscan wall design simple table seating options. The staff were all friendly and seemed to have great team work going on behind the scenes as well. Our server was (Nicole I believe?) and she was very friendly and you could tell was passionate about their offerings. She did an excellent job all around - genuine conversation points, excellent recommendations, and attentive service. We started with soup, trying minestrone and pasta fagioli. Both were a bit different than what I was expecting but they were excellent! The menu is quite large offering distinctive sections- pasta, chicken, veal, and seafood. Pricing was a tad more than I would have liked (namely the pasta exclusive dishes) but the way things are going nowadays it's understandable. When food arrived the taste was excellent, so you do definitely get quality! You're even able to customize the side pastas for things like Chicken Marsala - by having Marsala sauce VS typical marinara which was a simple touch but definitely appreciated. The standout for me was the Tiramisu - a dessert that's easy to mess up. The flavor was absolutely phenomenal and the portion a very healthy size! If you have room for dessert, make sure to order it. And if you don't, take one to go. (as a side note this location does have spumoni, for those of you who might be wondering) If you're in the mood for Italian, you will not be disappointed. read more

We've visited Giovanni's for years. The zuppa do pesce always comes with TONS of seafood- we got it with the spicy sauce and warning it is spicer than most! The shrimp dish always has a good amount of shrimp and they are cooked perfect. The place is on the small side and does not take reservations. They have tables big enough for party's of 7. My first visit to Giovanni's was very uneven. Others had told me the food was great, and the restaurant filled up quickly, but... First, the staff was wonderful! Everyone was welcoming and eager to please. The Meiomi Pinot Noir was delightful! The baked clams oreganate were flavor-filled and tasty. The salad that came with the entrée was crisp and the blue cheese dressing was good. However, the Shrimp in the Scampi was a bit overcooked (appeared broiled), and the angel hair pasta was a bit undercooked. The Scampi sauce was thin. I am not an accomplished cook yet I have made better Scampi at home. Very disappointing. The sauteed spinach side order was the best part! My friend's wild mushroom ravioli in Alfredo sauce lacked visual appeal. The dish appeared bland and colorless (black pepper helped!), and the Alfredo sauce separated half-way through the meal. Attention in preparing the sauce (a $3.95 upcharge!) and a sprig of parsley would have improved the dish. Thankfully, the flourless chocolate cake saved the meal - it was delicious! However, I doubt I'll be back. read more

Ate at Giovanni's on a weeknight in December 2021. I ordered the Penne Alla Vodka. My dinner companions ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and the Veal Milanese. The salads that came with the meals were just fair. I thought my pasta on a scale of 1-10 was a 6. The pasta was well cooked but the sauce was lacking tomato and badly needed some heat like crushed red pepper or Calabrian chili. I tasted both the Chicken Parmigiana and the Veal Milanese and they were both pretty good. The portions on both of those dishes, especially the chicken, were extremely generous. Like two full adult sized meals! It's tucked away in the corner of an older strip center. The service was friendly and pretty brisk. This is like a casual old school red sauce joint. I don't think they are reinventing the wheel or wowing anyone but it's solid. read more

Lousy customer service. We ordered a vodka pie as we've done several times before. We mentioned that the frozen peas they toss on top aren't cooked, nothing they can do about the hard uncooked peas so we left it off. The pie arrived and theres usually a good amount of liquid on top between the vodka sauce and cheese...not this time, it arrived totally dry. Taking a bite you couldn't taste ANY vodka sauce. Chicken francese sauce tasted bitter of lemon rind, and fried calamari was overcooked and dry. We sent the pie back, it was overwhelming with just cheese. They insisted it has vodka sauce, so we said give us a little sauce on the side and we can just add a little on top...no big deal. They refused to give us an my sauce unless we paid for it. We're in town for vacay and randomly found this restaurant on Yelp so we decided to try it! It's in a plaza with a few food options, in the corner. Lots of tables inside, but the place was pretty empty when we went for a weekday lunch. The plates are not tooo big (we did a pizza, a plate of spaghetti, the shrimp cocktail, garlic bread, and the sorbet for dessert) and that combo felt like the perfect amount of food. We have been here many times mostly because it reminded us of local Italian restaurants we could find in NY. But at this point I cannot honestly recommend anyone to eat here. The red wine pour was enemic. They no longer include salad with the entre. The pasta, in our case linguini was drenched in sauce, and the chicken piccata was drenched in lemon, almost inedible. Although portion sizes of chicken and veal parm are very large, size doesn't make up for good food. I asked for a Coke which never came because the staff is in a continuous frenzy to take orders, serve and deliver food. I can no longer come here just because it reminds me of home. Too bad. Amazing food and super cozy ambience! I got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and it was so yummy and creamy. The bread was also nice and soft, had a great flavor to it. I basically devoured the whole entire basket haha. The mozzarella sticks were good but they tasted like the ones you'd find in the frozen aisle - still yummy though if you're into that.
