Best italian restaurant ever. It's a small place that is mainly a bakery but thats what makes it special.

First time at Giuseppe's and it did not disappoint!! We tried: Medium White Pizza with Sausage - so so delicious! Perfect amount of cheese, the ground sausage was so flavorful. Bread for crust was perfectly cooked. Half Order of the Gnocchi with Vodka Sausage and Meatball - vodka sauce was great, and the pillows of gnocchi were light and fluffy! Meatball was soooo flavorful and delicious! Very Italian Meatball. Small Giuseppe Steak Special sub - really good and cheesy! Steak was tender, peppers were really crisp! Medium Red Pizza with Cup n Char pepperoni - red sauce was flavorful, there was a good amount of pepperoni - see pic! Kids loved this one. We also got an order of garlic bread, not pictured - the bread here is amazing! Last, dessert! Cannoli cake was two layers of angel food cake with cannoli filling between the layers and on top - it was light, fluffy, and not too sugary at all! Cannoli was great, as was the eclair! Definitely will be returning to try even more! All this fed my family of 5 with a small amount of leftovers, and we spent less than $80. Staff were very friendly on both the phone and in person. I've become a regular throughout the years. In-dining is now only lunch until 4:00 pm. I love their individual pizza, the Chicken French & Parmigiano, Sandwiches. One of the worst pizzas I have ever eaten. if not the worst! What happened to this place? Cheese and Pepperoni. Very Greasy and Salty, hardly any cheese, and tons of pepperoni stacked on top of each other not distributed evenly on the pie! The dough was not cooked fully. Guiseppe's catered our wedding reception and we received many compliments from our guests. We had never eaten there before and were pleasantly surprised. We served chicken marsala, beef burgundy, pasta, potatoes, and salad at our dinner buffet. The pasta was a little plain and we went home with most of it leftover, but everything else was devoured. They made a few gluten free plates and vegetarian plates per our request. Reasonable catering prices as well. read more

We have been wanting to try this place for a while so we ordered pretty much everything on the menu. I'm talking pizza to gnocchi with vodka sauce( I was told to sub for vodka sauce). My husband absolutely Loves this place. He always gets a steak and cheese sub. He is a picky eater, and they make it to his specifications. I myself, have eaten here less, and love the fact that they use fresh ingredients, and real steak on their steak sub. The steak sub is all I have eaten at this location. My first visit was amazing. I do love how clean the establishment is, and you can tell most of the customers. I ordered my steak sub to order, and it was perfect. Freshest bread ever, juicy steak, with provolone and red sweet peppers, tomatoes, onions, and lettuce. That was a year ago. My 2nd visit was last week. I made the mistake of ordering the Giuseppe steak sub special. The mushrooms, peppers and onions were cut way too big. I was also surprised that it came with green peppers. I would have thought red Italian sweet peppers would have been used. The cheese was white American and not provolone. It's my fault for not custom ordering, now I know. Let's just start by saying 1st impressions can be wrong. Pulling into thos strip mall, we saw the Giuseppe's sign tucked into the corner. Walking inside, it looked like a small deli/pizza type of place. Not that that's a bad thing. it just wasn't what I expected. Well, it was definitely uphill from there. Overall, an EXCELLENT experience. It was a private party for about 30 people in a pretty room with great old photos on the wall. It was served buffet style. The whole meal tasted great with my favorite being the chicken parmesan. The chicken was moist with a nice coating and covered with delicious what I'd describe as homemade sauce. It's not too sweet like you get in some places. Freah homemade rolls were served with the meal.Dessert was an Italian cookie platter. All so good. Besides the food, the service was also great. We had just the 1 server for our whole group, and she did a fantastic job. She quickly took care of all our requests, including drink orders. Sorry I didn't get her name. Great tripe! Perfectly seasoned and not too salty. Amount could have been more but the taste was phenomenal.

Called them and picked up an order here on Sunday early evening. Great customer service! Love the family and friendly atmosphere, the food was absolutely delicious i enjoyed my chicken french and the quantity was great! Ordered a large tripe for lunch. The portion was tiny. I mean real tiny. At $15 a bowl I would expect a much larger portion. It tasted just okay. One of the people I was with said the sauce tasted bitter. Server was ok. Probably the last time I order tripe there though. In all fairness, I have had some good meals there in the past. If I owned that place I would have been embarrassed to serve such a small bowl of tripe for $15. It was more like an appetizer. read more

This is the benefit of residing or visiting Rochester, New York: Like many other cities, there is a large Italian community who know how to get the freshest ingredients and have the familiarity with the cuisine. These places thrive in their own neighborhoods because you just can't equal these small neighborhood treasures. My wife loves the pastries that are a type of mini pizza, but nothing like you had a pizza joint or the frozen foods section of the grocery stores. I'd eat anything that I saw there, even the cannolis. I've had many that I didn't enjoy, but the few times I really enjoyed them, live had them from little Italian bakeries like this one! read more

I ordered a sheet pizza with 3 toppings. When I brought it home and opened the box I was at first disappointed. They really skimp on the toppings. But I tried a slice and the flavor was so good I didn't care that they didn't put that many toppings on. It's a thick crust pizza..which I am not usually a fan of. But this crust is not like most thick crust pizzas...it's more "bready" than chewy...almost reminding me of French bread pizza that I really enjoy. The sauce they use is very tasty as well. It has a strong tomato flavor, like they made it from crushed tomatoes. In fact the sauce was so good I wish I would have told them to put extra sauce on it. The slices that got overly charred tasted like when I put olive oil on French bread and put it on the grill...So good! This was one pleasant surprise..I am the type of person that likes a lot of toppings on their pizza. That is why I ordered 3 of them. Seeing that they skimp on the toppings bummed me out, but the flavor of the pizza made me overlook it. Which is Very rare. We had dinner Thursday night. We had the worst meal there we've ever had. They brought my friend's salad in a plastic take out container. The calamari was very rubbery and the sauce was kind of bitter-tasting. we sent the calamari back and received another plate. But it was even worse than the first. They were having a party that night and never told us when we called to make reservations. No reservation at 5pm , they were open till 7pm. read more

I came spurred on by co-workers www promised me that this place was better. The ravioli was described as "pillows of love". How could one say no to that?!! While the ravioli was the best of our meals, everything else, including the service, was mediocre at best. While we Didn't try the cookies and treats, they looked fine and may have won me over, but the red sauce, bread and even the soup was disappointing. So you probably won't notice this restaurant driving by because it's tucked in a corner of a huge kind-of-boring plaza, next to a planet fitness. Beware, when my friend and I came here around 11am-ish, we were told the main restaurant is not open until 4pm but they had the full menu in their bakery which had a small seating area. We both shared a calamari, and I got the gnocchi with a meatball. My gnocchi also came with a side of choice, I got the Italian wedding soup. You know, I was really delighted about how everything tasted. The soup was pretty good though I had so much food I forgot what it really tasted like, just that it was good lol. The calamari was crisp and the sauce was tangy. The gnocchi were soft fluffy balls of dough which had a the right chewy texture. Super yummies! The meatball though wasn't necessary and didn't have much flavor so I think I would pass on that next time. The portions here were huge and it was so affordable. It's really close to my apartment so this would make a great option for nights where cooking just isn't an option. read more

We arrived as a party of 3 for lunch, patiently waiting by the sign that asked us to wait to be seated by the hostess. After 5 minutes, when no one had shown up, we seated ourselves. We were then ignored for 20 minutes. We then asked to be served, at which point a server was sent. We placed our order. After 30 minutes we asked if our order was on the way. Our server said it would be out in a few more minutes. Finally our order arrived. Food was pedestrian at best. In sum, a most forgettable experience. read more

Never gave this place a shot because of the photos in the reviews dont look that great. Finally decided to give it a shot and im glad i did. Giuseppes has been around since 1927 i believe the sign said. It's tucked away in a big parking lot across the street from the Wegman's. Its a Bakery, a restaurant, and a pizzeria. They had nice big loaves of italian breads and various rolls, and a showcase full of Cannoli, and different pasteries such as Sfogliatelle and everything looked and smelled great. As mych as i wanted one of those pastries, I came for the pizza. This was such a unique pie. Unlike anything ive had, and i have around 184 pizza reviews on the One Bite App. I've eaten pizza all over God's creation, from Sally's in New Haven, to Angelos in Philadelphia, Umberto's in Long Island, Joes in NYC, lots of New Jersey pizza, and many other places in those big time pizza areas. Let me just say, this pizza, can hold its own. That oven gave this pizza the most ridiculous smell. It smelled like Giuseppe's pastries and italian bread. Probably many years of seasoning in the oven is what caused it. Fluffy yet chewy dough with a thin layer of crunch on the bottom. A saltier cheese than normal with a nice buttery taste and subtle sweetness and a great tang to the sauce. No overpowering italian herb flavors. I really loved this pizza. I love Giuseppe's. I have been going here for years. The price point is honest and family friendly. I love the home made gnocchi with vodka sauce ( I usually get mine with extra meatballs) My new favorite dish is their Ravioli Andrew. The dish comes with three hand crafted and filled cheese ravioli topped with vodka sauce, mozzarella and if you want mushrooms. Mmmm the filling is the best I have had in the area. Service is hit it miss, depends on who is on. The place always could use more cleaning. Oh, I almost forgot, eat or take a cheese cannoli home with you! I'd like to do a shout out to the pizza, especially the country chicken one. Also the spaghetti... and the vodka chicken pasta... And also, they do these mini pizzas and the breakfast one is legit. I had heard good things about Giuseppe's from word-of-mouth so today I ordered the full size beer battered fish fry. The fish was a healthy size and was crispy and well-done on the outside while tender on the inside. The meal also came with a good amount of fries (I'm estimating about 6 ounces) which were really good; better than I expected. The coleslaw was small and just adequate as far as taste. Overall I would say it is a good option for a Friday fish fry and I will be returning. read more

12:00pm reservations and seated at 12:35pm. There were at least 60 people that walked in AFTER us and they were all seated before us. I've been coming here for years. I used to order a lot of take out in the past but since I've moved to the other side of town it's been a while since my last visit. I used to always order their pizza and steak bombers, both are AMAZING! Especially the steak bombers. On our most recent visit we had a reservation for 6 adults and 2 children. We were given our own room, which was nice. The service was great, we were seated immediately. Our server was also very attentive and friendly. This is a casual Italian restaurant. Some dishes are better than others but overall the food is good and the prices are very reasonable. I'm not a fan of the bread they provide. The bread seems dry and although they do give a homemade butter (which in my opinion is bland) I prefer having olive oil with pepper. They don't offer this, but then again I didn't ask. I always order the vodka pasta, it's good but I've had better. My husband always orders the gnocchi with meatballs, I'm not a fan of gnocchi so I've never tried them but he swears they are the best. Their Italian wedding soup is really where it's at for me. Add a little Parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper and it's perfect!! You can get it with sausage or meatballs. I always get the meatballs. This soup is so good that I had a cup with my dinner and then ordered a bowl to go for lunch the next day. They also do catering. I've used their catering services for a couple of parties. They give you the option of picking up the food hot or picking up the food cold with instructions on how to heat up the dishes. I've done both options. I will say that if you are going to do the cold option keep the food in the oven longer than the instructions state. When I followed the instructions the food was still cold. But the food was still good, I did the vodka penne and chicken French for the catering. Really good and reasonable prices. Lastly, the desserts. Love this place! My order was inccorect the other night, and I had already driven home with it, and the resteraunts was closed once I noticed (a bit faster 9pm). I didn't feel like cooking or anything, so I still ate it. I talked to them the next day, and they gladly gave me a complimentary order of what I was supposed to have. Moral of the story, they stand by their service, their food is fantastic, fresh, always hot, and reasonably priced for what you get. I highly reccomened this place, and if you like pasta, it's a must try. I myself love the baked gnocchi. And their bread is also very good! 5/5 resteraunt, been dozens of times, and NEVER been dissapointed with the food. Also, the bakery is great, and I somtiens buy a few round pizzas, which are very cheap, and great to have around the house sometimes. Small, quaint place in the corner of a plaza. You enter through the small bakery area. But was surprised when we entered the main dining room. Very clean, modern. I like the paper on the tables. The bread came out first and it was divine! Came with a garlic butter as well as normal butter. I could eat that all day long. My friend ordered a salad with house made Italian and she was impressed. I ordered Pasta Fagioli, which was delicious. For my main course, I ordered chicken parm with a side of linguini and red sauce. The chicken was generous and thin and crispy and breaded just right. So good! The pasta was cooked well and the sauce was to my liking. My friend ordered the baked spaghetti with meatballs. She was kind enough to let me try some meatball, which we both really enjoyed. The service was great, the pricing was FANTASTIC as far as I am concerned. I would have loved to try some dessert, but there was just no room in the tank. Giuseppe's is a fine little Italian restaurant and pizzeria tucked away in the back corner of the FWS plaza (was formerly the Ames plaza and now the Planet Fitness plaza, I guess... the one next to St. Theodore's) on Spencerport Rd. There is a dining room to the left of the main store area, so you can come in and sit down for lunch and dinner. They're a family establishment, and one of the oldest pizzerias in Rochester. Bread and pastries are sold here. I've ordered pizza and wings here a couple times, and been satisfied with the food. The pepperoni and sausage pie I got was tasty. The wings were a bit average, but alright. I've also ordered their ziti with meatball pasta dinner, and it was nice with plenty of meatball goodness, and it came with complimentary bread and butter. The real strength of Giuseppe's is their pizza prices, which happen to be some of the lowest around. 11 bucks for a 16" pie is very good, as is $5.50 for a small. Plus, they frequently include coupons in the local paper, making their low cost even lower. The staff is friendly. read more
