Room was clean. Excellent design and layout. Very large. As some people have pointed out, carpet was a little dated. Oceanfront bar and restaurant is great. Can't beat the location. Breakfast included with the room was the best we had at any of the 4 different hotels we stayed at. Would definitely come back. Only negative things is no onsite parking (it is ocean front in dense area) so you have to get a card from the front desk and park in the municipal lot a few blocks away. Did not see that on the website. We spent an hour in the spa which was pretty nice but really not the reason why we liked this place so much. Location on the beach, large, comfortable, clean room, great breakfast were more important.

The pool has full service straight from the great restaurant and complimentary towels and lounge chairs. When one cannot make the great complimentary breakfast the staff will create a nice picknick basket any time of the evening or morning. The rooms are very nice with a/c and a small kitchen. The housekeeping is great and even did our dishes one day after we had forgotten to do it. Now the best part. We enjoy good food and while we also explored many restaurants in the area and neighboring towns, the restaurant 'catamaran' in the hotel actually trumped all of the restaurants we visited (and often drove 30-45min for). Their menu is not very large but their daily three course menu-del-dia can hold its own with some Michelin star level restaurants. It was different every day and all nine options between starter, main and dessert were great. On some days we enjoyed both lunch and dinner from the same menu! Parking was very good too. Enough space in their own covered area so we never had problems finding a space. Did we not like something? Not really...and I realize it makes this review almost too good to be true... To start some of the rooms we got assigned were not ready by the time we had reached the hotel (8pm on a Tuesday night), by the time I was able to take a shower, all the water had flooded all over the bathroom floor. When I complained they basically told me to take a shorter shower. The service was horrible, most of the staff were rude, the food was old, unsanitary, and/or plain unappetizing. Do not stay there. Find another place!

Multiple small out buildings show the history of the home. A pool is available for warm weather days. The inn keepers are outstanding. Gloria and Coldo are warm and welcoming. They both have a wonderful sense of humor. We were in early off season so we had it all to ourselves. A walk in french couple passing by joined us for dinner and breakfast on our first night. For a ridiculously low price they will prepare dinner for you. Humbly I'm a really really good cook. Koldo blew me away. The B&B is out of the town area so I highly suggest eating there. Wine is served made by a local cooperative which was great. Gloria helped us will all our needs. We love vinyards and she helped set up a local one which was one of the most inserting ones we have ever seen ( we have seen a lot). We had time for great tours with beautiful vistas. Absolutely loved Girona!! Very highly recommended Slanche!!

I think this hotel (and Europe in general) has so much charm for this very reason! We were only here for a single night, but the room was fantastic. New fixtures, comfy beds, and a great rain shower. The room also had automatic curtains, which aren't exactly a breakthrough feature but I'll admit I always feel like a king when I can command them from the comfort of my bed! In addition, the hotel is in a great location for exploring the town. They also had an amazing breakfast spread in the morning. Sadly, we were in a rush to get to the Barcelona airport, so I was only able to grab a couple doughnuts for my group and run out the door. I highly recommend checking this place out if you ever find yourself in Girona, it's a great find.

We had a standard room which was incredibly spacious. Aircon is modern allowing various settings such as fan, heat, aircon or dehumidfier. There's a proper coffee machine like a Nespresso/Pod machine in your room the first two Pods are free thereafter 1 euro each a great facility and alternative to the instant coffee, kettle etc you usually find at hotels. Good breakfast buffet served till 11am at the weekends which you can take outside by the pool surrounded by the wonderful mature garden settings. We also ate twice in the evening at the hotel (which I rarely ever do) the set menu of three courses offering a tantalising choice and exceptional value at 20 Euros. Great pool length which is restricted for use from 11am which makes sense as if I had a balcony view I'd hate to be woken early though I am a early morning length swimmer. There's also a Table-Tennis table and Table Football. Staff are simply brilliant and most tri-lingually excellent what I heard what Spanish, Catalan, English and French. Finally it's a great location for the nearby beaches and town of Callel de Palafrugell which is five minutes away. In short, for a six night stay I find it hard to fault this place.

Smack above gorgeous sandy Tamarui beach, one of the softer sand beaches in the area (much of the Costa Brava has rocky beaches) the hotel is well situated. The hard to access beach is easily accessible from elevators in the hotel. The hotel can provide beach towels, beach umbrellas and even beach chairs to its guests. Front desk is well staffed & service is excellent. Rooms are small, simple, clean, older and often have a view of the beach. They have a few family rooms for small families. The breakfast is served facing the bay, and is a generous buffet-style breakfast with beverages (strong coffee, expresso, juice and even cava) included.
