Let's start with this was the second Gk Mongolian BBQ I visited within a 15 minute span. There's another location across town that made me very skeptical of what visiting this location would be like. I'm glad that we decided to still try it out. This location is spacious, clean, easy provided instructions and very inviting. I appreciated they note local produce and who doesn't love an all you can eat! There's no rush, no pressure and you can continue making bowls until your heart and your stomach is fulfilled. Not happy with our to go portion. How horrible is this paid almost $40 for door dash order not worth it doesn't even come with rice. Plus everything is an additional cost on DoorDash. Never again. I've never seen every single item you add $0.75 plus there was barely any meat in mine only saw beef when I ordered chicken beef and turkey. They usually box it in a Chinese food container which is bigger than this plastic container. Would not recommend you DoorDash Mongolian bbq taste was horrible when someone else makes it. Everything we ate was good. The cooking was kind of slow. Only one cook with customers having to wait for the food to cook. Waitress was very polite and friendly. The restaurant was very clean. I think they need improvement on the time you have to wait for your food to be cooked. read more

This is my usual go to location when I get a craving , they are pretty good . Went in yesterday to have lunch with my friend they had a lunch special two for $28.00 . I always load up on the noodles and veggies my favorite part of the bowl . Lunch also comes with a refillable drink , soup , rice & a potsticker very great value if you ask me . And although it's all you can eat I'm never even able to finish my first bowl. We use to love coming here, but every time we go it's extremely messy, tables with stuff, food all over, countertops around the food is dirty and food containers are always empty or nearly empty. Grill is caked with buildup and if you ask for them to clean they won't. On our most recent visit my kid found plastic pieces in his and all they said was sorry. I love this place...I have eaten at all of the locations in Stockton and this may be the cleanest one. But to be fair, I haven't been to the other 2 for a minute and there is no way to get around making a bit of a mess while you are building your bowl. If I could have given them a zero star, I would. I just watched the staff totally disrespected a customer of African descent. The oriental guy with the braids was so rude. He acted like he wanted to fight her. The Asian lady in the black shirt, pony tail and blue jeans was also very disrespectful. The young lady asked for a pair of gloves - use to be a standard at this location- but was rudely told to use the restroom and the hand sanitizer. I've been a regular customer for quite sometime. However, after todays display of disrespect towards a customer who only requested that her food be placed in a container that was displayed, I will never visit this place again. Neither will my family. Just an horrendous experience. Basic customer skills are lacking at this establishment. Management is responsible for this outrageous behavior. Employees need to be trained on how to treat those of us who patronize this establishment. Unfortunately, we will not be there to see the changes enforced. We had a great experience here!! The staff was attentive as soon as you walk in. They get a table ready for you if your eating in, with soup, wontons, rice and drinks! They do this all while your making your beautiful creation of a yummy dinner! Absolutely LOVED the fact that they list where each food item comes from!! Most things are local, some out of country but hey you can choose to opt out knowing that information. I ordered online via DoorDash. Food was timely, but it was incorrect. I had ordered no noodles as I do low carb. I got many noodles in my order. DoorDash could only refund 1/2 of my cost. At first I was just going to separate the noodles and meat/veggies out and deal with it. But then I saw how little food I actually got sans noodles. Not acceptable for the price, so I called the restaurant. Luckily, the lady at the restaurant was willing to work with me. She made a new bowl correctly. Still, not the best way to be introduced to GK Mongolian BBQ. Will probably try again to see if they get it right. This location is bad. The inside is always dirty. The toppings are always either out, close to out or rotting. Hope you don't want spinach leaves because all you'll get is brown decaying leaves. So far the best GK Mangolian BBQ I have Been to. Here is what I experienced: Food: Stations fully stocked up, clean all around. The cook Rathana did an amazing job at cooking my food and making sure the place was clean as he cooked. Service: Phenomenal by Chloe, she was very attentive to my needs, checking up on me and my family as we ate making sure if we needed anything. Inside Cleanliness: All tables, Floors, Food Stations were all very clean and ready for the dinner shift. MOST IMPORTANT - Bathrooms: SPOTLESS!!! They provide disposable gloves to use the tongs for veggies and meat. The way you obtain food here is: First grab a bowl fill it up with your choice of meat or any combination of meats. Then add your noodles and and choice of veggies. Then they have a wide selection of cooking sauces you can choose from. The more sauces you add to your bowl the better it tastes. This is because you want the noodles to marinate in sauces or else your bowl will taste dry. There is addition of peanuts at the end. If you have a peanut allergy I would suggest you don't eat here because they cook everything on the same grill. There's been plenty of times when peanuts from other customers bowl end up in my bowl because they cook two bowls at a time on the grill. Before COVID if you were to takeout you had to pay first then assemble your bowl. Now you can either pay before or after you assemble your bowl. Your order always comes with drinks and a side. Before COVID when you were allowed to dine it they would serve free refills on drinks, a side of broth to start your meal, a side of rice (they would refill rice if needed), and a side of spring rolls or little chips with sweet and sour sauce for each individual. After COVID, they do not give you rice and only one side to share per two people but they still charge the same per person. I don't really care for the rice or side so it didn't impact me that they took out food and left the prize the same. I am just here for the delicious bowls. read more

I visited this establishment recently. Upon entering the restaurant, you notice that there are three stations: meat, vegetables, and sauce. The meat station had thin slices of turkey, pork, beef, and chicken. The vegetable and sauce stations had a variety of ingredients. You are allowed to make your own bowl to eat inside or take to-go. One thing to note is that stations do get a bit messy when multiple people are using them. In terms of service, my server was quick to take and serve my order. I made a bowl with noodles, beef, pork, house sauce, bean sprouts, carrots, jalapenos, sesame oil, pineapple, and onions. In terms of the food, the serving size depends on how much you put into your pre-cooked bowl. For my specific bowl, it was able to last me for about 2 meals. In terms of flavor, my dish was savory. However, it lacked any form of acidity to balance out all of the strong flavors. Although it is not the best Mongolian BBQ that I have had, it is pretty decent. What can't you like about making your own food. Each bowl is customized to you by you. The staff of friendly the cooks don't just add water if you don't have enough sauce to cook your food. GK Mongolian has been the best Mongolian BBQ I have ever eaten at compared to all the other Mongolian BBQ places I have tried at in the Sacramento region. This particular GK Mongolian BBQ moved locations, as they were previously across the street by Jollibees. It was really important for me to leave a review here. If I can give them 100 stars, I would. I wanted to discuss their customer service first because Mongolian BBQ at GK has always been delicious and on point when it comes to flavor. Their customer service is amazing. All the guys that work here work so well together. They work as a team and its apparent. They truly enjoy their job and it makes it fun just to be a customer here. There was a time when we asked of the guys for a refill but then realized we needed another refill for another drink. I apologized and asked for another refill, but he said the sweetest thing to me: "Oh it's my job, you don't need to say sorry." I truly commend him for his positive attitude. The food is what you make of it. So when it comes to the ingredients, you decide to make it to what you want to taste. The meats, veggies, and condiments are always refilled so they never let anything run out, which is a common problem we always run into with Mongolian BBQ. read more

So this place was okay. I wasn't expecting it to be as messy as it was. In the bathroom No toilet paper, no paper towels, and garbage all over the floor, and the toilet bowl was kinda gross. The assembly line of food was extremely out of sorts and spilled everywhere. I definitely 2nd questioned if I should turn around and abort my Mongolian BBQ experience. I love this place! Low priced and high quality. The food is so tasty especially since you get to customize your bowl and make it exactly how you want it. The meat and produce are always fresh. I've been on a keto/low carb diet due to health reasons and was looking for a place close by after work. Was told this was a keto friendly place. For dinner, its AYCE (all you can eat) - meaning we can eat more than one round, obviously. So as my partner was getting a second round when he then was asked by one of the cooks, "to go?" - he politely said no, took his bowl and carried on. I then go for a second round myself - meat, veggies, no noodles - as I reach the end, one of the cooks scoffs at my bowl - takes my bowl, cooks my food. My partner then goes for his third round and the first cook scoffs at him as well as the second whilst having a look of disgust on his face while the other cook says, "I know what you're thinking" while the second cook rolls his eyes. I was still polite and thanked the cook - even though he was stand offish and was handing me my food as if I was some beggar off the street. Taken aback by this situation, we asked an employee who walked by our table if there was a problem with not adding noodles to our bowl. He kindly told us no and that we were able to make our bowl however we wanted. Not entirely sure if it was just a long day for those guys, or if that was actually meant for us, whatever it may be - we were completely put off. Not the end of the world, always other places for us to go. I just don't appreciate having to feel uncomfortable or being judged for what I eat or how I eat because of ignorance or unaware of certain dietary restrictions. read more
