I mean I am getting pretty basic af here. I have short nails already. I asked that the top cuticles not be trimmed. (Which she only sort if listened to. She kept saying little bit and trying to nip at them and I would say please no thank you ). The actual process was fine like I said, neither good or bas really. The pain job however..... Ehhh. She forgot base coat but remember and ran and got it.... Then kept on going! I get she had only painted one nail but I kind of wanted to ask her to fix that one. I will fully own I'm a bit much. So I try to keep my request to a minimum, so I didn't. Then as she went on though she was skipping whole sides of my nails and kind of rushing. Which was weird because it wasn't mega busy there was a grandma/daughter/Grandaughter group there but they had an appointment with a different manicurist. So idk.. the top coat she kind of slopped on without even covering the whole nail that really bothered me. I really wanted to reach over and just put a second coat on myself. But then she came back and told me I was done! No second coat . It wasn't even the good top coat so I guess I'll just touch it up at home. But for $50 bucks I kind of feel I shouldn't have to. I guess I wouldn't be so picky if that wasn't the price. But I feel $50 for a basic polish/mani ped that was kind of not great? I told them natural nails with builder gel and they WOULD NOT accept it. The lady got mad and had me go to another girl (after drilling off the gel on one hand) and I finally said "whatever it is just get it off and fix it please. I got an acrylic overlay because they don't do builder gel I guess? It didn't look bad but o could deal until I got in with my regular girl.... and then the acrylic started coming off two hours later. Terrible service, their product is not good either.

After all of the amazing Facebook reviews and photos I was SURE I would receive exactly what I was asking for. Instead I received less money in my account, ruined hair, and an evening of crying in disappointment. After polling my friends, Googling, and consulting Yelp, I finally narrowed it down to Distinction Salon. I made the call, the woman that answered was prompt and very helpful. She answered my many questions and quoted me a price. And she was even able to schedule me the very SAME day! The Salon was really easy to find. Its right on Garrison beside Havoc night club. The decor is bold and artistic but not at all painful to look at. It's a great mixture of greys and whites and bold stripes. I arrived a couple minutes early and they were able to seat me right away. My stylist (i fail to recall her name . . .) was super sweet, and was very interested in getting me the exact cut i requested. Occasionally she would find stopping points so that she could get my opinion on how it was looking. And she was very happy to and the extra texture that i requested. Afterwards, I prepared myself for the insane price i would assume comes with such great work and time, however i was pleasantly surprised to learn the price was LESS than my prior salon's cost! All of that to say that I'm very pleased with my new hair, and I will definitely be returning to Distinction for my next trim.
