I'm not sure what changed, the pizza used to be just fine. This time both large pizzas were sloppy, inedible garbage

    Large Buffalo Nickel Pizza

Consistently good pizza. Service can be touch and go, but overall the staff is helpful and kind. Love eating in because of the music and atmosphere.

Large pepperoni and half sausage, not sure why a large would be cut into only 6 slices.

Tasty pizza. I wish they didn't leave so much plain crust without toppings, but it is still good pizza. It is very greasy, so eat fast before it gets soggy. The sausage is a big hit. Also, why cut a large pizza into only 6 slices? Delivery is always at least an hour (2.5 miles away).

So, Glass Nickel Pizza isn't my favorite pizza in Appleton, but it is still good. Glass Nickel has a lot of specialty pizzas and we had great service for our group of 10. Our appetizer arrived hot from the oven, but a little overcooked. We had a BBQ Chicken pizza that had more BBQ sauce than it had cheese. Both the cheese bread and the pizza were good and we enjoyed them.

I ordered delivery from here on Day 2 of the COVID-19 "Safer at Home" recommendation. I was charged $11.75, without tax, for the Mediterranean Lasagna. The portion size I received wouldn't be close to sufficient for a child's entree, let alone an adult. The other items on the order were clearly not prepared so that they all came out hot at the same time. The cheese sticks felt rubbery but warm, like microwaved leftover pizza. The bread nuggets were cold, too. I'm severely disappointed that the kitchen staff didn't even bother to try to make the items seem fresh. The photos included are of my Mediterranean dish.

    Burnt, cold pizza.

First, a disclaimer: we ordered on a day that it was snowing, so we knew going in that the pizza wouldn't be delivered super fast at all. We didn't expect, though, for it to take 2 hours. When the pizza arrived it was cold and--get this--burned. Almost seems like an oxymoron, doesn't it? We got a deal for a large pizza plus the Nickel Nuggets, which we hadn't tried before. I hated them, but that's on me. I should have guessed that from the description. Glass Nickel gets points on its pizza sauce, which isn't horridly sweet like what seems like every other pizza joint around Appleton. Still--a disappointing meal.

The seasonal luau pizza - sweet, filled to the brim with toppings, and beyond delicious. A must have!

Yum yum! The (seasonal) Luau pizza is extraordinary! Some quotes from our small party "best pizza ever", "the crust taste like homemade bread", "wow; this is like sugar - deeelicious!" The pepperoni pizza was very very greasy for the carry out box, but tastes great and the hand tossed crust is thick, sweet, and amazing. Delivery to a hotel - arrived much more quickly than expected and incredibly hot and in great shape.

    Buffalo Nickel...yum.

Great pizza, even if a little on the pricier side. Their hand tossed pizza is probably the best crust. Fun spot!

I'm just kidding, I always have more to say. ;) But, in fairness, it's a great little spot that's kind of tucked away about a block and a half off the main strip (College Blvd or whatever it's called). But, it's a hidden gem worth searching for! We were made aware of this place thanks to the kind woman working at our hotel. We were in town for a game at Lambeau, and we heard that there was a shuttle from Rookie's to the field, which we definitely wanted to make use of! (That's a whole other review, but let's just say, it was an experience I'll never forget, and one I would repeat in a heartbeat!) The crowd here was clearly Packers fans. But, in their defense, they didn't make us opposing team fans feel threatened or not welcomed. Quite the opposite! Once they realized we were going to be respectful of their place and their folks, they welcomed us! The food really is good, especially for the money. It's one of those rare inexpensive places left in this country, where a pretzel appetizer easily feeds a family of four! LOL! I wish there weren't just two of us, because we also ordered boneless wings and cheese curds! Everything was hot and fresh, and it all tasted great. The drinks were large, inexpensive, and cold. No complaints at all. The service was also really wonderful, with friendly staff and very efficient servers. Like I said, nobody gave us a lot of grief for being from out of town. But, we could tell right away, this was a "local spot" and for a very good reason. Locals and regulars definitely make up the customer base, but they keep coming back for all the other reasons provided: good food, good drinks, and very reasonable prices. Example: I offered to buy a beverage for a very nice person who was incredibly helpful to us, specifically in arranging our spots on the shuttle bus. She was drinking a rail Old Fashioned. You know what that cost me? $3.50. That's not a South Park reference. That was what I paid for a rail cocktail! Anyway... if I'm ever in Appleton again, I'm stopping by. This really is a diamond in the rough, and one well worth your time in searching for.

They have an upstairs tap room, an arcade, and a bar and restaurant downstairs. The service was all-around incredible. The employees were warm, friendly, and professional, and they seemed to know exactly how often to check in without interrupting our meal. They spaced out our drinks, appetizers, and entrees just the right amount. Our server Andrew was particularly great. We had a soda flight of their craft sodas for a super super reasonable price, and every single soda was spectacular. We're spoiled in the craft soda department by virtue of living in Wisconsin (Sprecher, Potosi, etc), but this was definitely the best craft soda we've had. Even the wacky flavors like blue raspberry were rich and flavorful--they didn't taste overwhelmingly artificial. I cannot recommend their soda enough, although I imagine their craft beer is pretty good too! We also had a delicious mocktail, which always goes a long ways in impressing us. All of our food was reasonably priced and so, so, fresh and delicious. The Bavarian pretzel with the beer cheese was heavenly!! We loved our entrees as well. Even something simple like the fries were perfectly done--fresh, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside I don't think we could have asked for a better experience. Everything we had their was top notch, and despite the number of things we ordered, our bill was not very high at all (about $50 for a mocktail, a craft soda flight and a soda pint, an appetizer and two entrees.

I'd love to tell you the vibe was friendly, lighthearted. I'd love to say that staff, and either owner or manager named Steve modeled fantastic customer interaction. Sadly, my experience this evening, that would be a lie; something I just don't. o. I found an open chair at a curve of the bar.To both of my sides there was a cluster of 4 people. At the moment the guy was grabbing disposable shot glasses from next to the register. The females got a larger, I suspect a double, while males got a smaller than a full size regular shot.mI had noticed that 2h3n he was pouring for another cluster of peoplemwho at the bar. Lube the ladies with more alcohol. Jack Daniel's has a hell of a kick. I sat there watching this play out, followed by the guy holding court. I was hoping he was not driving. 10 or so minutes after I. Sat, a bartender /. Server showed up to ask me 'what can I get ya?". I remarked how much I welcomed feeling one of the staff people noticed me. Quickly, Bill in a blue polo shirt launched in, claiming he was busy but had seen me when I sat. He didn't acknowledge me with even a simple hollo, or something. I decided to go away, even Culver's would be better. As I was gathering to go the guy in the blue polo shirt was yelling at me about; away, please just go away! I don't need your money as&*le" So, no, I can't rate the food from this visit, but service. If Steve, I think that was his name - is the owner or management, he sets a poor example for the rest of the crew. It's fine if he wants to get convention adults drunk. So long as that's the only goal. When I tended bar and served I made sure to say hello to every one they sat, no matter what I was doing.
