They tried to take advantage of me as a woman. As soon as I brought a man with me, they told me different pricing then they did on the phone speaking to me. I brought it here for an inspection, and they told me 5 things failed inspection. Once i picked up my keys and took it to a different location, the new location told me that only 2 things need to be fixed. They tried to upcharge me and get more things fixed than needed. read more

Brought car here for state inspection, tie rod, and brakes/rotors. Was $860. Labor was $490 of that. Next time I took it on the highway, the car shook bad at 70mph+. The car never shook at 70 mph. I was upset considering we spent an unexpected $860 at a local shop yet got another issue. I was told by locals to call Jimmy up and they were sure he would fix it and honor the work. I brought it by, they agreed there was an issue after driving it, and that they'd fix it. No one told me what exactly they planned to do or that they were charging and how much. If they had, I certainly would have taken it somewhere else (1. Because I wouldn't give a business money for not fixing something after they touched the car and 2. Because I'd get it cheaper). After they fixed it, I was about to drive away when they said to hold up, it would be $80. When I asked them why, and disagreed with being charged more, I was told they balanced the tires and that if I didn't pay I was taking advantage of a small business. In reality, I was taken advantage of as a customer. Of course people do not work for free, and I am a proponent of small business. But I'm also a proponent of being fair, communicative, and doing good work. They can say it wasn't their fault, that they didn't do anything to cause the shaking, etc. Its not a coincidence to me, and if they planned on charging, this should have been told to me prior. I'm sure this doesn't mean much, considering they get business, but they lost ours. read more

I recently visited Glen Allen service center to get my vehicles inspected after moving to Virginia. My vehicles had some issues that needed to be addressed. I can't say enough good things about this place. I've had several mechanics try to correct issues with both of my trucks. They only made things worse. I researched potential fixes on my own and the mechanic Jeff (master mechanic in my opinion) knew every fix I had researched plus some things I didn't know. His work was impeccable and fast. I love driving my cars again. Its been a long time since I could say that. I also appreciate the fact that Jimmy believes in using OEM parts. Say what you want but nothing makes a Toyota run like it should with OEM parts. The work was completed quickly and the pricing was excellent. If your looking for a great service shop with good hearted people I suggest you visit this place. I good service shop is worth its weight in gold and this place is an a true gem! read more

I brought my car in and asked that it be fixed enough to give me a few months on the road before i could sell it. The cost of the repairs kept escalating until it reached $1300. I paid it and a day and half later the car stopped working. I didn't want to sink anymore money into the car but called the service center to let them know that the 3 month repair didn't hold three days. My every experience with these folk has been positive and I have been a customer now for at least ten years. They are smart, fair, and appreciate the idea that I don't want to spend my life savings every time something breaks down. I took in my 2005 Subaru Outback with 173k miles on it. I took the car in because of the check engine light being on. I had taken the car to the dealer and they said it was a common problem on Subaru's and they could not figure out how to turn off the check engine light. Frustrated, and after reading forums on Outbacks, I bought a code reader and began turning off the light myself only to find that it would come back on after about 30-40 miles. At my whits end with the car I took it here and not only did they fix it they where able to get the car back into a sound mechanical condition, it actually drives better now than when I bought it with 120k miles! Jimmy McMilIan, who is the owner, really took the time to understand what was wrong with the car, unlike the dealer. I would highly recommend these guys and will take my car back there again. read more

As a DIY guy I tend to do routine maintenance myself but sometimes I do not have time or the repair is out of my comfort area. Jimmy Jr. and the entire staff are more than fair to help me with anything I need. Most impressive is once you go in Jimmy Jr will remember you and your name. So rare to find anyone who remembers your name when you walk in. Yes, you will need an appointment and don't plan on waiting as it is not an in and out place but you will not find a better price or care anywhere. read more

I have used this center for at least 8 years and am totally happy with them. They do good timely service and do it very well - I've never had a problem with any repair or service they gave. They always seem to find the problem and fix it. they do so at a reasonable price that is much lower than the dealer (the big service milage where they have to change the timing belt was about 1/3 of the price the dealer quoted) They do not go looking for extra problems and never have I gone in and they said oh, by the way there are these other issues - that'll be an extra $500! I really like this place - they are all very nice. As good as they are, you will need to make an appointment to get in but it is worth it! Don read more
