1/ Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scam
We bought a large biomass burner primarily for burning straw from Glen Farrow. They estimated Ofgem's RHI would pay back the £38k cost in about 8 years.
Glen Farrow offers to do all the work of applying for RHI for you. After installation, I discovered they had submitted an application and lied on our behalf without even showing us. They had claimed we would solely be burning wood (not straw), because they had not told us they couldn't get an emissions certificate for our model when burning straw.
I refused to become complicit in Glen Farrow's scam, so I insisted they withdrew the RHI application, despite leaving us with the full cost and no RHI subsidy.
2/ Incompetent system designers
After a year of heat or hot water not lasting until the morning, we discovered Glen Farrow's installation was losing over 10lt of hot water to a pressure release outlet every day. After an inordinate amount of argument, they rerouted and refitted the whole pressure release arrangement. read more
