I chose Glendon because it had…read morethe programs that I was interested in, you were basically a person with a name, as opposed to being on a larger campus and being known by your student ID number, and the campus is simply beautiful. After I got my nails done on a Sunday in March, I was driving along Lawrence Avenue, in the left turn lane, about to head north on Bayview Avenue. I noticed a sign saying that there was an open house at Glendon. I decided to get myself out of the left turn lane and visit the college after many years. The parking lot is different. Gone is the attendant at the gate, helping you figure out where to go. Instead, you have to figure it out on your own with all the signs. You need to pay for parking at the meter. The campus looks the same, other than the Centre of Excellence that now occupies the majority of the A wing. It's a lovely building. I had seen photos of the building, but it was my first time doing a tour. My old locker is still there. It is now an end locker, which it never was when I had it for four years. I also managed to find my graduation mugshot close by. The washrooms are starting to get modernized, but it looks the same, as does the desk chairs and lecture rooms. The campus is still stunning. There was snow everywhere when I was there. I learned a lot while I was there. It's nice to go back and reminisce from time to time. (72)

Rosa claimed to have screenshots of my conversation with Aida, despite the fact that our discussion took place entirely over the phone, a claim that is both confusing and impossible. When I attempted to clarify this, Rosa NEVER replied. Rosa is unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with and clearly not competent in handling the situation. It's disappointing to see such a lack of professionalism, especially after a promising start. After reading other reviews that mention similar concerns, it seems this kind of experience is not uncommon. I've requested to speak directly with the School Manager to address this properly and NEVER heard back. This is not the kind of treatment anyone should expect from an educational institution.

The Covid vaccine clinic hosted by North York General Hospital (NYGH) at the Newnham Campus was very well run. There is plenty of free parking out front and the gate keeper informs all patients to wait in the car until 15 minutes prior to appointment for sign in. There are 2 more security guards that confirm you are there for the vaccine and time reserved. Sign in is very fast, provide your health card and drivers licence and within 5 minutes of walk in, you are at the main gym that has the doctors providing the injection. They ask a few questions to ensure you have no underlying health issues before they administer the shot. You are then asked to wait 15 minutes to ensure no adverse reaction before you sign out with another friendly crew that confirms your health card, email and phone number for your digital confirmation and 2nd shot date/ time. The crew here is very friendly and professional. Looking forward to the next call up in 4 months time.

I received a notice more than a year later from OSAP stating that a grant that was given to me is going to turn into a loan. I didn't understand how this could happen since I returned all of the money I was given. I contacted Seneca financial aid office and the person Biju told me they had returned all of the money to OSAP as well and I need to contact NSLSC directly. So I did but was told that Seneca kept a portion of the money. I am now trying to contact Seneca again regarding this issue but they are ignoring my emails. My advice, avoid this school. I've taken courses from multiple schools and this was the most trouble I've ever experienced.

My absolute favourite professors have been: Ingrid Wagemans - Ethics In the Fashion Industry This professor has spunk and energy like no other. She uses humor in her lectures however she does not sugar coat anything, which I like. She uses a variety of teaching methods that are interesting and helpful. Kate Lamorie - Business Planning for the Entrepeneur The sweetest professor in the entire world. She truly cares about every student but somehow manages to be fair with everyone. She is knowledgeable, approachable and extremely helpful when it comes to asking any questions. Michel Shah- Project Management - Communication Across Cultures Michel is an amazing charismatic, inspirational teacher. I have honestly never worked harder for any classes in my life than I did for her's and my marks proved as such. She challenged the class in every class, assignment, and test. She tested your application of the material studied, not your ability to memorize terms. Her job/educational background is phenominal & yet she still is 100% personable. She asks for feed back all the time which is helpful for not only the students but her as well. Inspirational because she has proven to us that with hard work, discipline, comes respect and ultimatley success. Aldo Forgione- International Trade Agreements & Business Law He is all over the place when he teaches which almost forces you to pay attention. He has a great deal of knowledge and if you pay attention in his classes, you will learn a lot. Jane Rotering- Logistics Professor (all 3 years) She has in depth knowledge of logistics, which seems like a dull topic but somehow between her lectures, videos, physical examples, guest speakers, and warehouse feild trips, she makes it fascinating. Because of her, I am considering this feild as a career that I never thought possible. No one is afraid to participate in her class because she is very compassionate when it comes to incorrect answers or people curious to learn more. Overall an amazing professor. Majority of the professors have extremely impressive backgrounds but these are my favourite because they have all challenged me, taught me, and ultimatley helped me to better grow and understand the courses beyond what the books say. I can honestly recommend Georgebrown to anyone and everyone who is driven and wants to succeed. I would like to personally thank these professors for teaching me what I know and inspiring me to work hard.

I went to George Brown College for the one year Chef Training program and my experience was so/so…read more I had minimal knowledge going in but came out with a good foundation for cooking, but that foundation was also tainted by cynical Chefs. There were times I felt I was learning more from Barefoot Contessa (Ina Gardner) from the Food Channel and her cookbooks. One of my big complaints was that there was no consistency in the program. Each Chef (Teachers) had their own idea of how we should learn things and if the Chef that trained you was ever absent during grading you were screwed. The Chefs themselves were jaded, which didn't reflect positively for the College. Majority of the complaints about the college came from the chef's themselves! I didn't feel like I got my money's worth with George Brown. For 6 months we went without beef or chicken stock and had to use a low-grade replacement (chicken and beef stock were a basis for many recipes, so it'd be like not having salt in the kitchen). In the desserts/pastry course we had to pay for our own food, that's on top of tuition fees. I never understood the logic behind it, seeing as the students were doing the labor and paid for the food already through tuition. It was things like that that annoyed me about George Brown. On a positive note, GB gave me more confidence in the kitchen. I didn't have a good understanding of how to properly cook meat and I wasn't that willing to experiment in the kitchen. After GB I had more confidence in myself to try different dishes and can cook a nice filet.

The Ashtonbee campus is the perfect venue for a ribfest. The parking lot is huge such that it hosted a bunch of food trucks and four vendors specializing in barbeque goodness. This campus is pretty. It used to be where the headquarters of Volkswagen Canada used to be. I used to pass by the old Ashtonbee campus a lot when I was practising my driving as a teenager. There was a driver's testing location on Warden, just south of Eglinton Avenue East. My dad and I felt that practising down here would make me feel comfortable and familiar with the roads, and all that practising helped! It's pretty. I love the architecture. It was pleasing to my eyes. This campus is home to automotive, some liberal arts and pre-health, and a handful of community and health studies programs. Ashtonbee campus is Centennial College's oldest property. Neat! For some reason, I feel at home dropping by campuses.
