East Greenbush Dental Care - Antony DeSantis, DDS

East Greenbush Dental Care

This place sets an example for the rest of the medical industry. If you're tired of corporate…read morebullshit "healthcare," go here. This is a true family practice, run by the doctor and his wife. Dr. DeSantis cares more about the patient outcome and experience than he does about the bottom line. He works for himself, not for a profit-driven corporation that will still try to upsell you when your teeth are falling out and all your credit cards are maxed out. I came here as a last resort after having my mouth ruined at a corporate dentist's office. I had two baby canines, which my former dentist pulled and fitted with temporary bridges...which proceeded to fall off six times in a month (which is great if you want to lose weight, since I couldn't eat properly). I ended up enduring at least two weeks with four tiny peg teeth on each side. Thank god I work remotely. See my review for 1st Advantage Dental for the gory details. Enter East Greenbush Dental. I sent them a (probably) panicked, overdramatic email explaining my dire situation. They agreed to see me last minute even though I was a new patient. Dr. DeSantis checked out my tiny stub teeth and did some 3-D x-rays, and then proceeded to build from thin air a set of temporary bridges that lasted not 3 days, but over two months. Early this week, he put in the permanent bridges and they are perfect. I'm not afraid that my teeth are permanently damaged or that these bridges are going to fall out in 3 weeks. I know that this doctor knows what he's doing and actually cares about the outcome. Dr. DeSantis will explain everything and he takes his time. You won't see the doctor for only 30 seconds (or not at all) like at ordinary practices. He has a varied background that includes some programming and graphic design so if you're lucky, he will be able to whip some teeth out of the ether and into the 3-D printer like he did for me. He's also funny, and has a bit of a Beastie Boy vibe (if you're not an elder Millennial or baby Gen X, that statement won't make any sense, so just don't worry about it). I'll be a patient here until they either fire me or the doctor retires.

I had a full oral exam and my teeth cleaned the best cleaning really I've ever had no pain. I can't stress enough how kind everybody is in that office. I've seen plenty of dentists, and they certainly are the team you want to see if you have problems with your teeth you'll be very pleased to meet the staff and you'll be very very happy with Dr. Fox's work very happy

A patient for 25 years mainly under the old ownership of the practice who have recently retired,…read morethe practice is not the same as it used to be. The new main dentist, rhymes with lox, has the personality of a greedy rock. Lipnick was great, the reason why I stayed with the practice for so long; with him gone, the practice has lost all patient centered focus, it's now $, $ and more $. After going over my annual dental insurance limit and being hit with a big bill, I paid in installments only to find out that during Covid, when I lost my job, the practice had referred my account to a collection agency - they call it an "accelerator." Nice euphemism for we don't give a shit about you, give us our money. Once I learned of the practices' money grubbing ways to a 25 year client, I gladly stepped away and hope others do as well in the hope of actually finding dentists with just a sliver of compassion, understanding and heart. You won't find it at Albany Dental Team!

Secondly seems like the doctors are always thinking about something else besides what's in front of them like my teeth. I wouldn't recommend this place to the sickest person I know. Your teeth could be falling out of your face and I would tell you to go somewhere else. Terrible business practices. As a matter of fact I think I know for them in the past and they've told me horror stories but I went anyway. I should've listened no wonder they have 2.3 stars here. makes sense

I called to request a dental cleaning. I was told that I was going to need two appointments to get…read morea cleaning. The first appointment would be a "dental exam" and then another appointment would be made for the actual cleaning. I have dental insurance and I get 1 free preventative dental appointment every six months. So, by splitting this into two appointments, not only can the dental practice charge for two appointments, but my insurance isn't going to cover a nice portion of the second appointment and it would cost me $142.00 for that appointment. It may not seem like an astronomical amount to pay, but I'm paying for dental insurance so that I don't have to pay that additional $142.00. Every previous dentist where I was a patient found a way to perform that cleaning on the first visit. And then I was not charged additionally. This place is slick and has lots of new technology with colorful imagery. But don't be fooled. I did not get what I went there to get. That is, the free dental cleaning that is included as part of my insurance premium.
