This handyman answered my call and came out the same day to replace a kitchen faucet and a shower diverter. He came the first day and said he would be back the next day to do the work. He replaced the kitchen faucet, then told my husband that he would need to come back out to complete the shower because he could not loosen the valve. My husband paid him in full for both jobs. HE NEVER CALLED OR CAME BACK. After waiting for over a week, my husband called him and he stated he was sick. So another week goes by, no call. I call him and he got indignant with me and told me to find someone else to do the job and he would refund me 25.00 of the original amount (125.00) so I told him that would be fine. Had someone else repair the shower, it works great, but needless to say, no phone call or refund for uncompleted work from this handyman. This entire thing began during the last week of June. Today is July 23. Yesterday I texted him and asked him if he was still planning on returning my 25.00 and he said yes when he got down this way. I said that was an open ended answer and could he give me an estimated date? He sated that when he returned to the area and that's all he could tell me. He his business address is listed about three miles from my location. I answered back that I felt as if he were taking advantage of my niceness and that I could come to him. He then told me he was in Leland NC. When I said fine I can go there now, he sent another text that said, "Barbara you are pushing the wrong person and that if you are that desperate for your moneyI will get it to you. I don't have a lot of time to do this B/S". He also stated that obviously I need my money more than he does. Well, yes I do. He did not complete the job and was paid in full, and as I told him, that is thievery.
