The YWCA provide all sorts of support services for Adelaide women under thirty, and they are also responsible for administering the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a hugely successful program whereby volunteers spend one on one time with a child to give them positive mentoring and a good role model. YWCA are also responsible for advocacy campaigns for women against violence and domestic abuse, as well as support for positive body image, women's clubs, professional mentoring for young women... and a lot more. If you want to volunteer you can pick up the phone and a lovely, supportive YWCA staff member will take you through the whole process and become a great friend and mentor to you in the process. If you get involved with this organisation you will meet some very inspirational people in the process. Ahmaazing.

This is a tiny charity shop with a basic selection of clothing across a range of styles and sizes…read more Entirely run by volunteers, they don't follow fashion as some charity shops are begining to and as such the prices remain very reasonable. Much of the clothing is perhaps more suitable for middle age ladies and gents looking to bulk out their wardrobe in an economical and earth friendly manner, although, as there usually is for the right eyes - there are always a few pearls to be found. Noteworthy items on my last visit included genuine vintage 1960s dresses worth quite a lot in the right circles, on sale for around the $20 - $25 mark. They were in appealing styles and quite good condition for their age. If you're a dedicated op shop fashionista this place is definately worth a quick look, but if you're more casual in your recycled efforts head to a bigger store with more choice and broader appeal.

You won't find trendy or upmarket clothing here but there are plenty of basic staple clothing pieces to complement your exisiting fashionable wardrobe. Winter wear is fantastic here, I've picked up plenty of turtle necks, sweaters and cardi's last winter. There is one section largely dedicated for the ladies and on a good day, you will find a decent dress at a fab price. The scarves and blouses range is reasonably good. For those who enjoy knitting, there is a good supply here. This is the best place to shop for kids though. Prices are low and the stock is plentiful. I onced picked up an Esprit jacket for my son, I must have paid $6 for it. Plenty of linen and beddings to peruse here. As all op shop, this store run by the Church of the Trinity donate its proceeds to Act of Peace, Free To Be Kids, Doctors Without Borders, Christian Blind Mission and many other local charitable needs. I love coming here and showing them my support as I know my money will go to a worthy cause. Check out the $1 clothing rack parked just outside their entrance. This op shop seems to receive bread donations, so quite often, the friendly volunteers will happily offer you a loaf home.
