We went here for the first time & the overall experience was not good! At the Texas state fair, we were charged $50, appointment date for the presentation, & were told that we will get our $50 back on the day of presentation. They were all sweet talk & made it sound like it will be a piece of cake to just go, spend 90 mins, & get the gifts at the end for free. On the day of presentation, our sales person was a young 18 y/o Caucasian. Honestly, beside him repeating & asking the same questions over & over again, he was not pushy &/or aggressive. Overall, presentation from the main person was good, funny, short, & involved. Since the offer was not within our budget, we politely told them no. I think from our group only one family signed up. Presentation was supposed to be for 90 mins. Unfortunately, even with our multiple polite reminders it went for almost 2 hrs! Absolutely no respect for what they promised &/or our time &/or concerns! It was ridiculous! Our sales guy was respectful & obedient to our request, but it was the other senior "last negotiator" who didn't care/want to come to our table to close out & took his sweet time. We were then taken to the back room to claim our gifts & there was a wait over there as well as only 1 person was working & was taking their time. After my name was called, I was just handed over a piece of paper without any explanation & another paper to sign that I received all the gifts. This is where you have to be careful & check everything, as I did, because the paper has incorrect number of Six Flags tickets given listed. Promised 4, but only 2 tickets were given & listed. Good thing I checked & brought it up right away even though it should have been listed correctly & I should not have to check anything. I then asked about the cruise & only then were told to see the other paper for all the details & to call the number as listed. It turned out that it was a totally different company, Casablanca Express, that you have to deal with to redeem cruise voucher. I asked about the $50 refundable deposit paid at the fair & was told that it will be reversed back on the same credit card even though we were told at the fair that we will receive it on a credit card on the same day of the presentation. I was then told that I will be receiving the remaining Six Flags tickets in the mail. Of course, that didn't happen! I started to call at the number to inquiry about the remaining Six Flags tickets & nobody would pickup even after trying & leaving messages multiple times. I managed to get their email address & finally someone responded to me on that after few days. I was finally able to get my deposit back & remaining Six Flags tickets. Again, I shouldn't have to do anything & everything should have been already taken care of, as promised, but sadly it didn't happen ;( Dealing with Casablanca Express to redeem cruise voucher was another nightmare I am still going through as of this writing. It was so bad & frustrating that I have to tell them to give all of my deposits back & that I am not interested in redeeming the voucher anymore. I have reviewed that experience, in detail, under their business name. Why GEVC has hired/contract with such a horrible company, Casablanca Express, is beyond my understanding! It is clear that they just want to get people inside their presentation & waste their time & have absolutely no desire to fulfill what they are promising & for people to redeem their gifts without any issues. At the end of the day, I wasted time & gas only to get nothing but a lame 4 Six Flags tickets & that was also only after I did my own unnecessary efforts to get it. On top, the amount of overall frustration, unnecessary stress, inconvenience, etc., are just too much to go through. If without signing up for anything the customer service & the experience were like this, imagine the experience after signing up & after they have your money? Not worth the risk & your time! That was a LIE!!! They were not free and you do not get discounts on trips! It's all a LIE. We signed up in July 2025 in October 2025 after two $150 payments and a $400 payment I noticed these trips I've been trying to book are costing me so much money not free! Online when you try to book trips you don't get any discounts! I am trying to cancel and they are telling me I need to pay my full loan balance. Like whatttt I have made two payments I do not like this I am aloud to cancel.! I will be filing a complaint to the BBB and the state attorney of Texas! Enough complaints and they have to get shut down or change their rules of cancellations! I have to get a whole new bank account to avoid them taking my money and now reach out to a lawyer for help.' I was a co-signer with my son for their vacation package on 5/11/23. We were promised these "free vacations" and all of these discounted hotels, cruises, flights, etc. that we could use at any time. We were told we had 30 days after the presentation to cancel the package. I called on 5/12/23 to cancel after we read that we would have to pay a $250 deposit for all of these 'free" trips, and that our corporate discount gave us a better price than their vacation club. I was told that I had to wait 30 days because my paperwork was no longer in-office. I called back on 7/5/23 after I was debited the first $156.13, but didn't reach anyone. I called again 7/18/23 after I was debited another $388.00. I was told that was a "membership fee" that was separate from the $156.13 per month they were going to debit me. I asked again to cancel. They said it was a year-long contract and I had to call back in May 2024. I called again 12/1/23 when I was charged yet another $395.00 "membership fee" on top of the $156.13 monthly fee. They said to call back in May. They continued to debit $156.13 per month. 5/2/24, they debited $244.13. I called 5/23/24 & cancelled (or so I thought). They continued to debit my account. I called back in July and was told my account was cancelled and they no longer had my banking information (LIES!!!). They continued to debit my account $156.13 until 12/2/4 when they debited the $156.13 plus an additional $416.00. At that point, I called my bank to place a stop-payment for that vendor. Not once was I able to take advantage of anything they promised in the year that I held membership. The prices were never lower than the advertised prices on the website, and as I stated before, my corporate discount got me better pricing on hotels. They lied to us during the presentation and then lied to me when I called multiple times to cancel. I'm $4,097.34 and 19 months into a "one year contract" and I haven't taken a single vacation with them. I've already filed a Better Business Bureau complaint against them. Editing on 12/27/24 because I forgot about the $400 deposit I paid before I walked out of the door on 5/11/23. So they got me for a total of $4,497.34. Just got back from a presentation. We didn't buy but while they made several offers, they weren't pushy. Our main salesperson Charyngton (sp?) was excellent, asked questions and connected well with us. If we were in a position to buy, we'd have definitely bought from her. The presentation was good, and for the right people, it's not a bad investment. We just aren't the right people at this time in our life and I just kept saying no and they weren't rude or pushy, just persistent, and there's no problem with that. Once they realized we weren't going to buy, checking out was easy. They even have an option to have the $50 deposit refunded back to the card so no worry about gift card issues. We'll see how the reward redemption process goes but otherwise we had a good overall experience. Bottom line, if it's not for you, say no. I called about a month ago to confirm we're booked at Great Wolf for our dates, and was told YES. Then I got a letter in the mail today asking me to call to confirm, so I did. Lo and behold - we're offered two nights in a Super 8/Motel 6 kind of place, and tickets to a NEARBY waterpark for ONE day. Oh, but there's options they say!! We can upgrade to Great Wolf for $350. Or instead take tickets to a Schlitterbahn, where they'll help us book accomodations on our own dime. I told the guy (Richie), this was absolutely bait and switch, and his response, "We are a seperate company, just booking your accomodations, and I'm not responsible for anything GEVC told you." Now, we've rescheduled family vacations around these few days, and have two very disappointed little boys, and two irate parents. SCAM SCAM SCAM. They told me that the presentation was 90 minutes. That was fine. I could sit through a 90 minute presentation to go on a free trip to Hawaii minus that $300 taxes that I'd have to pay. Then they told me that the trip was 3 days 2 nights and the first flight leaves in the evening and the returning flight leaves in the afternoon on the 3rd day. With the flight being so long to Hawaii I decided it wasn't worth it to waste my time and money to only be there for 1 day. I respectably told them that I wasn't interested. Later this afternoon I received a call from another man that worked there trying to confirm our appointment, and I told him the same thing I told the other woman. He kept talking down to me and trying to get me to come in and choose another trip. I told him again that I wasn't interested and that it wasn't worth my time or money. He was very irritated by the end of the call and said goodbye. Unfortunately, he didn't hang up the phone like he thought he did and immediately started talking poorly of me calling me "muff mouth". This business called me a month after I went to a Rangers game, stayed my name was drawn in a cost there that I had won 2 complimentary airline tickets. In the initial message the man stated "this is not a sales call" I called back a month later (partial forgot and bc of LIFE). The man who answered the phone (weak connection, red flag) did not state his name (two times=two calls). I told him I was wanting to speak with Mike over a voicemail; I mentioned the voicemail was a month old. He legitimately replied "that's interesting" I did not answer and was waiting for a transfer, he replied again "isn't that interesting a month later." I still said nothing then he hung up on me. I called immediately back, he stated he hung up because he thought I wasn't on the phone bc I didn't say anything to his sarcastic rhetorical rude statements LOLOL. Mike states I was too late that he would look me up I told him not to worry about it due to my experience with the initial man. I asked Mike the name of the company. He proceeded to give me information on the company in which was regurgitated 5 million times after this, in the presentation and after speaking with the manager. The manager was pushy he asked me "what does your friends have to do with you Purchasing a timeshare today?" I proceeded to tell him he asked about my friends and that I didn't volunteer the information. But nonetheless I forgot everyones name except a "Corporate employee" named Penny at the end. Who I only remember because she did this whole "I'll wait until you finish texting" thing to start talking and then proceeded to ask if I even heard what I said her name was. So bad. Yes they give you the trip. Yes they give you a restaurant card but is it worth the agitation and the pushy salesmen? No! I haven't checked the trip but I'm sure it will be just as complicated as this day, or not even valid. They wanted to sell timeshares for $11,885 lifetime travel(not bad sounding right) until you hear about the loops and ins and outs(long layovers, traveling more than vacationing with them- all to get a cheaper trip) idk about you but I'll pass. They want you to sign on for $7,000+ that day and have monthly payments(sounds stupid to me to even do that without going back and thinking on it before purchase) anyway, to each is own. In conclusion: Worse thing I've ever been to. If you aren't someone penny pinching(mind you I didn't say trying to save, we all like to save) - this isn't for you(no pun intended) but this company will have you jumping through hoops and loops for a trip and I'm sure after you sign on it's the same. Spending hours on end on layovers all in the name of getting a cheaper flight, stay, etc. I'll pass and pay! I was skeptical of this place from the beginning. They have a booth at the State Fair of Texas and claim to be giving away a $1500 bundle of Yeti equipment. #1 (dangling the bait). Then they send there sleeze bags over to practically give you a hug and tell you that they love you. #2 (Then they prime the hook). GEVC: "Hey do you like the Great Wolf Lodge?" "How would you like to stay there for a full weekend, waterpark included?" #3 (Measuring your scamibility). Then the ask you for a major credit card to hold your gift. Make sure at least 20 times that you know that if you don't appear at there office you forfeit the money. I stewed on this for week. I received a phone call from a Thomas to confirm my appointment. Told me to be sure I could make it and to bring multiple forms of ID as well as my check book. Well now I am feeling like a complete sucker. When I called them to assure them that I would never darken there door I was met with a lot of opposition and people claiming to be management and then management over the management. I explained that they could keep the $40 bucks and to never reach out to me again. They have so many reviews on ripoff report and when they amass too much flak they change their company name.
