Sadly, one of the worst lounges we've used through Priority Pass. It's small, dark, and the depressing stairs you go down feels like you're walking into a dungeon. There was a short waiting period upon entering Global Lounge (close to gate 32), when we finally entered its lobby area, it felt congested and tight. Not much room and the elevator on allowed two people. The stairwell was nearby, but then who wants to walk down stairs with luggages. We weren't sure how far down the lounge would be, so we waited to use the elevator. We arrived at the lounge. Small, clean and quiet lounge. Neat displays, and stocked food and drink items that were located at the food counter. Not one server was around to greet us so we helped ourselves. Everything about this place was small, open setting, nothing fancy. There variety of chairs and tables to choose from. Some seats were very low to sit on. While normal size chairs were available, we preferred the corner area and couch-like seats. Not much eating room with small round tables, but we made do with what were offered. We didn't realize that a QR code was affixed on each table (at least the ones we had). We then placed our breakfast order in no time. Not much to be said about the food, presentation, taste or portioning. The chilaquiles should have been named, enchiladas as it did not appear to look like chilaquiles. Nonetheless, we received our food, a little longer than expected. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't the best vip lounge breakfast. Our server was nothing to glorify about. Global Lounge is one of two lounges available in Terminal 1. We randomly decided to check into this one with our Priority Pass Membership since we didn't have our gate assignment yet. It was pretty small compared to others I've been in, but it was better than sitting by the gates. There is only one stall for each restroom so if it's occupied you can always go to the airport restroom which is located upstairs and across from the lounge. Make sure you bring your paper ticket with you if you go in/out of the lounge. I didn't order any food from the QR menu since we ate right before heading to the airport, but did like that there was a good amount of items available. Although there is usually an attendant next to to the drink area, it is pretty much self service along with the packaged pastries on the counter. read more

Decent lounge located in Terminal 1 at Mexico City's ginormous airport. Food options are limited but decent quality. I ordered: Ham & Cheese sandwich, it was basic but good tasting. Beef Tacos: Mexico no doubt has great tacos. This lounge has simple ones but tasty enough for me to eat four of them. Chicken soup: it was more vegetable soup than chicken. It was low quality. Beverages: nice variety of beverages. My wife drank a Negro Modelo. I had a Diet Coke. Service was ok. Restrooms weren't that good for lounge standards. To me lounges get rated on four things, 1) comfortable seating, 2) food, 3) restrooms, 4) charging stations. This place was average at every aspect except the restroom. But why am I complaining? Near gate 33. Check in desk is nice. Stairs to lower level are narrow and shabby. The lounge is small, furniture is old and broken down. This was our first time using our preferred pass and while we figure that this one is not representative of most, it was not a good introductory experience. They really should upgrade the lounge, it is not representative of the brand. We had some lukewarm coffee and left for the United lounge which was lovely. Staff was of friendly. read more

I got to use my Priority Pass for this lounge in the Mexico City airport, terminal 1. Located next to my gate flying American Airlines back to the states. It's pretty tiny and you take an elevator or the stairs to go down. There's only 1 single use bathroom, there are seats and the view is of the tarmac. You have to order your food through the QR code on the phone even though food is on display the workers insist. You're greeted with a beverage and they have plenty of options. I ended up getting some beef tacos and dessert. I took some pastries to go for my flight but they seemed strict and didn't want us serving ourselves. I usually try to take snacks for the flight but I got a little. Not too crowded so it's good to have your own charges and seats. read more

Come here if only to escape the crowd upstairs--social distancing is achieved here by limiting capacity to 50%. Decent selection of snacks, soft drinks, beer and coffee to order. Sandwiches and entrees can be ordered--but they take about 15 minutes to arrive. The eggs with ham were fluffy and not overly seasoned. The bistec tacos were outstanding! If you're familiar with the airport here you'll understand why this lounge is so small. But hey, it beats having to sit in the seats by the gate. Terminal 1 has two lounges, but one requires a reservation. We tried to get into Lounge 19 but couldn't. But, there is a golf cart available that can take you to this lounge. It's by gate 33. Just ask the people about it at the front desk. Our flight was departing from gate 13, so we were very grateful to have found the gentleman with the golf cart to drive us there and back. We did tip him a few bucks, but it is not mandatory. The service was okay. I could tell that they were short staffed so of course that causes a little stress to the employees. The food was good, but my tacos were cold. I also ordered a flan with my meal and didn't get it. A few minutes later, I ordered another one. Nothing. I decided to just let it go. They must've been out of flan, but nobody thought it was necessary to notify me. There are about 6 monitors in here and not 1 had the flight information displayed. However, the staff can radio upstairs for flight info, so don't worry. You just have to remember to do so. The restroom was out of supplies, but like I mentioned. It's a step up from having to sit outside by the gate. With the right amount of staff and some changes in the kitchen, specifically related to serving tacos with cold tortillas, this little lounge has potential. Stop by if you can before a flight. It's better than sitting upstairs with everyone else. read more

This lounge was great! Especially when the gates are right there 29+. It's usually half empty or less so that is a plus. Wifi goes on and off but mainly on most of the time. Bunch of great basic light beers, almost no hard liquor selections but they have some fresh made dishes. Servers are always attentive and they put up some random cartoons once in a while, was nice. Would defintiely come back if my gates are in this section. read more

This was a great option for a lounge close to the gates as opposed to a pre-security option. The lounge is small, and not the best air circulation, and seating was at a premium during my visit. The setup for orders requires using a QR code scan and then the staff will bring your food to you. Appreciated having a non-buffet option, limiting the number of hands over the food. This lounge is really grim, and even noisier. The WiFi doesn't work, it's crowded and tiny, food is very basic, staff confused. On my one and only visit, people seemed to be competing for volume with YouTube and Spotify blasting from their phones. (WHAT KIND OF PERSON DOES THIS IN PUBLIC??) Cherry on top of it all, there were two babies screaming at the top of their lungs. I came early for my flight to work in what I thought would be peace, since pandemic-era MEX is unpredictable. I left this lounge after less than an hour, preferring the chaos of the public areas of the terminal. read more

Not a bad lounge! Accepts priority pass. Pros: Quiet, nice attendants. Good selection of food including soup, salad, sandwiches and self-serve bar. Decent WiFi. Comfy chairs along the walls of the lounge. Next to Gate 31, so pretty convenient if your flight leaves from this area. It was pretty empty on a Saturday afternoon. Much less people compared to Lounge 19. Cons: Only one bathroom stall...I can imagine it's a bit of a wait during peak times. Area is kind of small but the lounge is laid out to maximize space. read more

​The Avianca Lounge is in the Priority Pass network which means those with personal or business Platinum cards from AMEX, the Chase Sapphire Reserve card and a few others can get free access for them and guests. The lounge entrance is on the main level by gate 31 in terminal 1, but the lounge itself is downstairs. The seating area and the entirety of the lounge for that matter is all contained in one large square room. There was a decent snack display along one wall. It was breakfast for my visit and there were lots of pastries available as well as fruit, yogurt, juices, coffee and liquor. There were plenty of staff present cleaning off tables, sweeping and refilling the buffet. I was initially worried that the lounge might be crowded as the check in line was a bit long. I discovered though the check is desk is in a very small space so it can be overcrowded and spill into the hall with just a few guests. While small and quite full the lounge did not feel crowded which was a very pleasant surprise and stark contrast to the insanity and chaos that was the boarding area gates above. While there are better lounges in MEX if you have time to time walk to them, this place is definitely a worthy detour from the boarding gates. Flight announcements were not being made in the lounge. A boarding pass was not requested for entry. ID and Priority Pass card were required. read more

If you have a Priority Pass thru Chase, this place is on the list at Terminal 1 - the International one. First, we tried to get into "The Grand Lounge Elite" - but no such luck - it was a long wait and also a long walk from our gate. Then - we realized just next to our departure gate is Avianca operated Global Lounge. It's a small place - we took an elevator one floor down, did not try WiFi or bathrooms, got some beer and water, some food - nothing exiting and place was pretty busy with one server only. We would not used it, if we have to pay for it, but for free, it was OK. read more

What's important for me when I'm at an airport lounge: WiFi - good signal with decent speeds Clean & spacious washrooms - the men's room had only one toilet but the stall door was ripped off so you have to lock the main door! This lounge is located in the international terminal near gate 31. A perfect location for most flights back to the US from Mexico City. While it is a bit small and located downstairs, it is a perfect spot to kill some time before a flight. The elevator is TINY, so if you suffer from any claustrophobia, then I suggest the stairs. The lounge is clean, the servers are very friendly, and there are plenty of choices of beers, wine, liquors, soft drinks, and some food. The wifi is surprisingly good for airport lounge wifi. I was able to get quite a bit of work done and even downloaded a couple of Netflix shows for my flight back to the states. They accept Lounge Club and Priority Pass, as well as their own memberships. There were only 15 guests (about 1/3 full) when I was there, along with 2 desk attendants and 2 servers ( a good ratio for great service). Even the bathrooms were clean... Cheers! read more

Overall the lounge is ok, but don't get your hopes up. Crowded during my visit with 40 people inside. Staff is friendly and they attempt to keep the small bar stocked. Not bad, but very average in the grand scheme of things. read more
