I gave my my van to Jay twice last June to repair an oil leak behind my timing cover that still leaks, replace passengerCV shaft and an O2 sensor tripped a code. I brought my van back still leaking and to replace the control arms that knew were at end of life. I lost my vision and now I can drive. I have a code for same sensor, he never tightened the frame side control arm bolts passenger side. and I just built the damaged passenger wheel hub assembly myself, on a lift with a mechanic friend. I will be using UV die and replacing the oil seals behind my timing cover myself. I have receipts, pictures and video. Had the loose bolts Jay didn't tighten, and my control arm broke loose in motion, Jay's loose work could've killed me. read more

I was in and out. I did have a minor issue though. I had a nail in my tire and my tire pressure sensor came on. I went during my lunch break. Samantha helped with the nail and Jay recognized the nail didn't puncture my tire. After putting my car on the lift, he diagnosed that my tire valve was leaking. Jay had a replacement valve on hand. Didn't take too long and didn't cost too much. Maybe it took 30-35min? Love the fact they have a lady mechanic and Jay made sure to find out the problem. Thanks both! read more

Improperly fixed my front window and I got a ticket because of such. They refused to acknowledge their mistake

My state Inspection was up in 5 days. I went to global because my regular guy was slammed with work. I go to global and the guy says "yeah no problem- 30 minutes I'll be done" i come back in 30 and he says my Inspection failed. He claimed there was an issue with my drivers side steering column. He quoted me $350-370 to fix. "Its easy-i can do it in a couple of hours" this car is only 4 years old... there was no way there was wear and tear on my car like that. I dont even have that many miles. Anyway a few days later i go to my regular mechanic. I gave him the printout that Global Motors gave me regarding my steering column. My guy said there was no issue- and i passed Inspection. STAY AWAY FROM GLOBAL MOTORS. read more

I was trying to reach someone and the call was being forwarded to this business. A man answered and was beyond rude. Screaming and yelling at me asking me if I want a price. He was obnoxious and disrespectful. As a business, you should have some etiquette and some manners! Be careful who you speak to like that because there is something called ONLINE REVIEWS and I will go online and let everyone know how poor your service is. I clearly tried to explain to you that someone is forwarding calls to your business and instead you yelled at me and refused to listen and deliberately hung up the phone on me. Avoid at all costs. Brought my car in to get looked at for a shaking issue. The guy seems like a charmer, but really he just took advantage of me (a college student without much income). He told me to replace something I clearly didn't need replaced and he ended up completely throwing off my alignment, which made the shaking way worse. After calling about getting a refund for the bad service he yelled at me for 5 minutes for being crazy for asking for a refund on even a part of the service. Do not go to this place you will get ripped off and treated badly. There's plenty of better, more professional options around. read more

My experience with Jay was horrible to say the least. I was not new to getting my vehicle fixed with Jay & the past experience had been ok. I'd been referred by a relative so I figured that was good. Unfortunately in the 3-4 years I had not been there it seems he's gone quite downhill. Needing an inspection and oil change and also having had for the past few weeks an intermittent issue with my battery I figured I needed a replacement. I'm guessing this is where things start going badly. Strike # 1 Is when after quoting me a certain price he than proceeds to charge me $50 more but when I paid and brought this up he proceeded to claim he hadn't charged me to re-program my suspension which btw hadn't been working right and I'd deduced it due to the battery so you'd think he'd do that if he was changing the battery which affects all those computers in a car. As at this point I'd already discussed a oil change & inspection I agreed I'd bring my car back. In between that time my suspension again starts acting up and giving me a message on the dash. At this point I should've decided to take it to a foreign car specialist as obviously this was beyond his scope of expertise (more on that later) but I take it back to him and he does the oil change and inspection. I'm sure he saw the suspension error but didn't bother to even acknowledge it. In the meantime about a month later the battery on my car is mysteriously dying again. I than decide I am going to take the car back to someone who specializes in BMWs as I also had an issue with my door I wanted to repair. I tell the indie tech that I had just purchased a battery and that I did not understand why it was continuing to be drained. At this point & after the BMW tech looks at it do I discover that I have some type of parasitic battery drain which if Jay had bothered to properly diagnose in the first place would not be costing me more money. Instead he charged me to replace it w/o looking into why it might be draining in the first place. All in all I ended up having to purchase a battery twice due to his incompetence but wait it gets better . About a week after getting my vehicle back from the indie shop & while out of town I start getting a low oil warning which if you recall about a month before I'd had my oil changed at Global Motors. Worried about this new light, I call him to ask & this is when he decides to tell me to go back to whoever I'd taken it to fix the battery drain issue. The whole while I'm in shock this grown man is not standing behind his work and basically giving me a horrible attitude. I now realize that he must've been gossiping about me to the indie tech who I discovered knew him because Jay actually refers his BMW cars out to him. That and the fact the indie guy had said he'd call to ask if he'd accept the battery back but he didn't so I ended up paying for a battery TWICE.Being that there are not a lot of indies for these cars it's inevitable they'd know other mechanics. What's not cool is to think they are gossiping about a client. Jay actually screamed at me and accused me of saying things I didn't say. Just be forewarned because I don't like dealing with grown "man-children" and people who aren't accountable for their work/mistakes. Oh and he also hung up on me leaving me with an unresolved issue with the oil warning. read more

This is the WORST Place to go!! The owner Jay is not a trust worthy person at all. Wanted us to Lie to our insurance company to commit fraud to get work done. We refused and when we came back to pick up our vehicle, parts were laying all over the floor! We told him to put them back and right after started having real mechanical problems. Our dealership said it looks like whoever did it was unprofessional who used inferrer parts. We tried to save money by skipping the dealership and it ended up costing us more! After frequenting global for about a year, the service slid horribly. I don't know if this was due to new junior mechanics who were not attentive, or just a general lack of thoroughness. My oil changes were done, but oil always leaked, upon inspection drain bolts and oil filters were loose. A rock cracked my windshield, and upon replacement, the windshield gasket few off on the top side of the windshield and spattered adhesive all over the top of my car. Going to another mechanic, i was asked why i hadn't had an oil change in 20k miles. I responded that i had, every 3-5k. They responded that it looked like i had not had an oil change in a long time. I feel bad saying all this, as jay is a really nice guy, and i did love his stories, but after the windshield and oil incidents i have not been back. read more

Jay puts in 110% and will explain the problem to you to make sure you understand. We had a tire light problem and he put in a lot of hours to make sure it reset. I verified his prices and mechanical statements. He is skilled and honest. You are in good hands with Global Motors! read more

I take my Mercedes '08 S550 my wife's Lexus RX 2010 here as well and I told her to tell all her friends to bring their cars here. He gave us a loaner for when the car was going to be overnight, what mechanic out of warranty does that! Since then he has fixed my Corvette '97 and Cadillac 2010 too for needed repairs. I have never met a more honest mechanics shop and I travel to him over 30 miles simply knowing how "over and above" his work truly is. Nice guy but he scammed me into getting my car fixed there. He stated he will help me out and all he did was keep the ins money and had the old parts put back on the car, when I told him I would call the ins company he then said well your not getting your keys and your going to owe me money. He's no good I would not recommend this guy to anyone. He's terrible. read more

it's a friday early afternoon when i notice that my cars inspection expires today and it's now or later cause if i don't do it today believe me the tickets will come later and nyc traffic bullies love to write tickets and i prefer to spend my money on me before i hand it to the nyc money grabbing system. i notice this full service repair shop in glen cove (glen st) when i make my trek to pollo campero for grub and knew if i needed some non warranty car repair service i would come here cause the yelp reviews were mostly the 5 star kind and the honestly aspect goes a long way with me and it also helps that it's walking distance to many local stores. i called the shop and spoke to alex and he said that 1pm was ok to drop off the car, when i walked in mr jay took my info and besides the inspection i needed a oil change which was not a problem . mr jay asked if i needed a ride while i left the car and told him not at all cause i was going right across the street to pollo campero for lunch. i got a call at 2pm from alex telling me that the car was ready. the price for oil change and inspection was fair at about 70 bucks and i was on my way. i will be back to have them check the brakes very soon and if all goes well i will add the 5 star. overall a full service repair shop that you can trust with your car. read more
