When going somewhere new we always do a lot of research. In Europe in the summer we definitely need a good AC system. We also much rather stay at a local hotel vs a huge group (not that there is anything wrong with that). When doing research we almost stayed in the Maaloof are which is good if your going to go drinking and clubbing but with 2 kids its not for us. I then looked into smaller towns and being on a nice beach is a must! So I somehow came across the Introutel group and of those hotels found the Esmeralda Park. It was about to be fully remodeled and that was important to us also. We booked a ocean front suite which was perfect of the 4 of us and looked exactly like the renderings! I think we were the first people in the room and the hotel overall was amazing! The pools were great, Dragoland (the kids water park) was great, the restaurants were great and although the hotel was crowded it never felt that way. Its well laid out and the staff really run it well! It was about a hour south of Palma, but easy to get to. You can also walk to town for a million good restaurants. I would highly recommend it for family vacations!

Relatively inexpensive and the food is not great, but decent! The morning breakfast buffet was way above my expectations. It's seriously comparable to a Vegas breakfast buffet. You can stuff yourself silly and it will last you throughout the day. Who needs lunch? We had the breakfast every day of our stay. Definitely a thumbs up! Rooms are suite style with balcony and kitchenette. It's clean and we had an updated suite in the J building. A bit far from the center of the hotel but it was nicely renovated. There is free parking for guests. I do recommend that you take the bus from the airport to the hotel. You honestly don't need a car here b/c everything is just walkable. It's a public beach and it gets busy, but you can rent chairs, umbrellas, and a lockbox (a little over €18 a day for the full package, but you can scale down). Or, you can find your own space for free if you have or don't need an umbrella, etc. it turns out that Mallorca is a huge vacation spot for Germans. As Americans, we loved meeting people from Germany and other countries. It was so nice to barely hear English at the pool lol. And, speaking of the pool, it was really lovely. There was a shallow section for kids and then a regular section for everyone else. The buffet dinner was perfectly adequate and the free breakfast in the morning was a really nice perk. We had some special dietary requirements and we knew we would be cooking a lot, so we wrote ahead and asked for a fully equipped kitchen. The fridge is relatively small and it's a tiny little sink, but we had everything we needed. We purchased dish soap and a couple of extra kitchen towels. We eventually learned how to use the single burner induction stove-top. Overall, we were really pleased. it was a wonderful and relaxing place to be.

On days we wanted to relax we could wake up late and enjoy their incredibly long and delicious champagne breakfast, and follow that with time at their fountain pool and sana. A few days where we wanted to be more adventurous we explored incredibly close and beautiful beaches, including Cala Romántica, and Alcúdia, which also had amazing hiking! I'm giving it four stars, but only because of it's location. If you want to see more of Palma and get a cultural experience, I would not stay here as it is quite far away from the center of Mallorca. If you want some relaxation and more of a resort feel, I recommend staying here.

I need to preface that I research hotels and resorts very heavily before I go. I do that because I…read moream very particular about where I stay and what they have to offer. That being said, I don't usually leave reviews but I have to leave one for this Iberostar because I think it will help others! I do not regret coming here at all. I enjoyed my vacation quite well but speaking honestly I probably won't return because there is not enough to warrant me coming back. The hotel itself is nice. Big positive for us. The rooms are kept quite clean and the covid protocol of the hotel is top notch, something we really appreciated. The room is spacious with a very functional, spacious closet. The shower has great water pressure and heats up nicely. There is no proper shower door so the the shower leaks water into the bathroom but we didn't mind that since they provide towels. The only bad thing about the room is that the AC did not feel very powerful. Some nights we woke up from it being too hot even though the AC was on high. The entire hotel is energy conscious and requires a room key to power the room. When we would leave for the day, we left the AC on, and when we returned it was cool. Somehow overnight though, it warmed up. Not sure if this was the weather or the hotel conserving energy. We are also coming from USA where we keep our AC at a constant 65F the entire night so perhaps the room being at 73F was too hot for us and might not be for other people. Another downside for us was that we needed to pay to use the safe. It's only 3 euros a day but it seemed silly to have to pay for something in the room we already paid for. It would have been nice to keep our passports and valuables safe but we made due. The facilities in the hotel are great. There is an indoor pool with a sauna and a gym, which is great since it rained one day on our vacation. Only downside, it is a bit small but we didn't mind that. We liked how intimate it was. The outdoor pool is really nice and there are ample lounge chairs. We LOVE that the hotel is right on the beach. It also connects to a really nice nature walk and nature reserves. The entrance to the beach is private but the actual beach is a public beach. There are lounge chairs and cabanas available to rent for the day at 14 euros a day. We wish there were private cabanas for the hotel on the beach but we still liked it. The beach is very clean and boarders a lot of bars and supermarkets. There is only one restaurant at the hotel that serves breakfast lunch and dinner buffet style. We felt there was enough variety to the food and it was great quality. We got the all inclusive boarding which we though was worth it as all drinks and food are included. We ordered multiple bottles of wine and felt very taken care of. The only downside here for us is that the restaurant is only open are certain times of the day so if you want food outside of that you're on your own. They do offer snacks at the bar for in between but they are limited. We overall never felt hungry except for the time we missed breakfast but that's our fault. The bar is great no complaints there. The drinks are strong. The people at the hotel are very nice. A lot of them speak multiple languages. They had just re-opened a few days before we got there so there were a few hiccups when we arrived for instance, the app wasn't working for us and they forgot to give us all inclusive bands. But those were corrected quickly. The hotel doesn't offer much in terms of booking excursions. They don't offer transports either. But they will call a cab for you so that's nice. They help book you a covid test but it costs extra money. The front desk told us a different price than the doctor so just be sure of that before you take it. The spa offers massages, manicures, and pedicures, and some other treatments, but there is no public schedule to tell you if they are available or booked. You have to request through the app and they either confirm or deny the reservation. They confirmed our reservation but then told us it was a mistake so we were without a massage which was really annoying. All in all I'd give it 4 stars because of the issues we had but we don't regret coming here at all. I think if they added another restaurant, upgraded the app, and expanded a bit in terms of their beach offerings and hotel entertainment/excursions, it would be 5 stars. Bold claim…read moreyou may say, and yes I have stayed in some amazing hotels across the globe, but this one was exactly what I needed when I needed it - stylish, quiet, peaceful, clean, authentic and also had great food available in the restaurant and on the room service menu. We had a junior suite (room 4 in case you are thinking of booking it) and we could not have been happier. Huge bed, spa bath, massive walk in shower, great wi-fi connection and an atmosphere that meant a couple of days during our stay, we actually didn't leave the room because we were so relaxed and catered for. The building is an old farm that took 3 years to develop into a hotel, it has maintained the small original church on site, a heated pool has been installed and the hotel actually owns the grounds all the way down to the coast. The grounds can be viewed and explored on one of the bikes that can be taken from the hotel. Try the Iberian ham on the room service menu, the price is a bit steep, but it is some of the best I have ever eaten!

Children aren't short changed when it comes to swimming facilities and the family swimming pool and area are pretty stunning too. Cocktails and drinks are on the pricey side, but as the entertainment at the piano bar each evening was pretty classy, we didn't mind stumping up a little more for a cocktail or two. The fresh fruit smoothies at the pool bar were just the job for lunchtimes when we were too full from breakfast to eat much, and wanted to save some space for dinner. Drinks in all the bars were accompanied with a bowl of nuts or crisps. We did push the boat out and have a pizza lunch at the al fresco Terrace Bar on one occasion. Its probably the best pizza I've ever had in a hotel. My expectations were well exceeded. The hotel location is just on the edge of Sa Coma with the beach an easy 5 minute stroll, and the beach at Cala Millor about a 20 minute stroll in the other direction. Walking along the roadside paths is safe and easy. Immediately across the road from the hotel is a trail which leads to an old castle on the peninsular between the two resorts. Its a pleasant walk and the views are stunning once you get there. We discovered a cafe alongside the castle which came as a complete surprise. Its as well to take drinks with you in case its shut. We stayed in the most stunning two-roomed junior suite with flat screen tv in both rooms and a fabulous bathroom with deep bathtub and two sinks. Hurray for proper hairdryers! Pool towels were in our room on arrival and there was no deposit or charge for them or for the in-room safe. There was just enough space in the mini bar to store a couple of bottles of water that we replenished daily, and the tea and coffee making facilities were much appreciated. Both our balconies overlooked the gardens, the relatively quiet road and the peninsular nature reserve beyond. It was a pleasant spot to unwind while reading a book, enjoying a cuppa and watching the horse and carriages go back and forth between Sa Coma and Cala Millor. Free wifi was meant to be available throughout the hotel, but in practice it was impossible to log on to it in our room most days even though the signal was strong. I'm guessing the capacity wasn't sufficient for the demand. It was much easier to get a signal at the Piano and Poolside bars and so thats exactly what we did. Just a short stroll away the local bars sold great beer for half the price so we ventured out to them on a regular basis too. While I usually avoid British bars like the plague on holidays it turns out they were the smartest and best bars in the resort and when we visited the staff were all Spanish. The hotel is smart with high-end decor and a relaxed vibe. The staff are sweet and engaging and were always very helpful. The food was attractively presented but didn't always taste as good as it looked, though the fresh fruits, breads and cheeses were always excellent. As a vegetarian I had extra challenges as so many of the dishes were embellished with bits of meat or fish and it wasn't always obvious until I had taken a bite. The main course dishes each evening were rarely suitable for vegetarians so I filled up on side-dishes and salads. This became a little monotonous by day 6 but were were only staying for the week. Meat eaters fared a lot better. Its a five star hotel in almost every way, but I have eaten better in a number of four star hotels. That said, they were in Greece where vegetarians fare better. I would however return to this hotel in a heartbeat and thoroughly recommend it to others.
