There seemed to be quite a few entrances dotted around which disoriented me further. There's long distances between anything of interest and I'm not even sure what I saw as it wasn't identified but it was lovely anyway. As time was ticking I couldn't see everything as I needed to find my way out and back to the road to get the bus back home which to be honest got me into a bit of a fluster thinking I might be stranded in the wilderness but thankfully I survived, twisted ankle and frazzled but I survived. My experience was good/bad and think there needs to be more signage on what's ahead and perhaps signs telling you where the road back to Edinburgh city centre.

You can take a walk along North Esk river, visit the chapel or just hang around the greens. By greens, I mean trees and bushes and things that have leaves. My first experience with Roslin Glen was for a friend's birthday where we dressed up as characters from Peter Pan and went on treasure hunts. Yes, it was her 24th. The area's really beautiful. Really calming and possibly the closest and best place to run off to from Edinburgh. It's only a bus ride outside the city.

I think the weather is a Scottish problem, not Currie, so I won't blame them for that. Currie's facilites are very good, the clubhouse was warm, welcoming and spacious - with some of the nicest food on offer for the parents and players I've seen on our travels. Seriously, some of the resident foodies on Yelp would have loved the choice of soups! The pitch was a long walk from the clubhouse, up a very steep hill with precious little in the way of footholds, so be warned if you're not the most mobile of rugby fan! The main pitch where the first team play looked in good condition, and with a covered stand to hopefully protect from the elements. A lovely little club, well worth a visit to take in a match.

This…read moreis one of the most magical places I've ever come across and I try to visit regularly, just for the pleasure and relaxation value. Malleny Garden is a National Trust for Scotland property, originally the private garden for the neighbouring 17th century house which remains privately owned. The garden, 3 acres worth, is simply stunning, I can't begin to describe the condition of the grass as you first enter this hidden away gem - it's like walking on a thick lush carpet and is quite incredible. They have planted hundreds of old fashioned roses, and in fact they boast a collection of 19th century shrub roses, for those of you who know your plants! There are thoughtfully positioned wooden benches or stone seats dotted around the garden, find a corner and you'll want to stay forever. They've got a fantastic topiary collection, the most impressive thing I've seen for a while has to be their bonsai collection, if plants and flowers interest you at all, this is a must-see treasure. I don't want to tell you too much about this walled garden, because words can't describe the beauty. Entrance is free, but they do have a donation box at the gateway to the garden, and I'd beg anyone visiting to put something in the box to keep this marvel alive and blooming. Search it out on a sunny summer's evening (although I love it in winter too) and be pulled back constantly by it's beauty and tranquility.

The care of and the knowledge of the horses is unequalled, with backup if and when required.The horses are kept in natural groups which leads to happy horses who don't know the meaning of the word stress.The horses play and graze in big hilly fields with plenty to do and see but are always ready to go out for exciting rides.In the winter there is cosy stabling with plenty of food on tap.I have a very happy horse!
