Based on the corner of Park Road in Wallsend Go As You Please, is an undertakers/funeral directors which ever you care to call it,that caused a stir when they first hit the high street.The shop front is'nt all doom and gloom.It hit's death albeit a sad and to some a taboo subject in the face,but it does it with what I think is a good mix of humour and dignity.No discreet net cutains and signs here but blatant price lists showing what they offer and the costs involved.Standing loud and proud are various options of disposal.Coffins in brightly painted union jack designs(or whatever else you want realy)wicker,wood and cardboard coffins stand up against the walls arranged neatly around the receptionists desk.Cremation urns stand on the window ledges in various designs showing you one thing,that you have a choice.We may not be able to choose whether we die or not,that's inevitable but this undertaker gives us all the chance of our own individually designed send off.Something unheard of round here until this firm took off. A friend of mine recently used this firm and was very pleased with the way the funeral was handled,every care was taken and every detail was catered for and it was done with dignity.They thought the cost was comparible to other firms who did'nt give them the options they got with Go As You Please. read more
