Stopped in after a major craving for Korean BBQ. With the all the COVID-19 restrictions in NY, we were really limited on choice and decided to give Go Ba Woo a shot. I tend to gauge Korean restaurants on their kimchi and it somewhat missed the mark, but I stayed optimistic for the pork belly and marinated beef short ribs. Sadly, the short ribs lacked the flavor and tenderness of other well known Queens-region Korean bbq joints. The pork belly was tasty with a delicate texture and worth ordering! Takeaway: The quality of food lacked and could be improved

    Korean style chicken and rice.

Decent Korean BBQ being that there are not many other options to choose from within the area. We had just come back from the city and were starving for some korean food. Go Ba Woo definitely meets my expectations but I wasn't exceedingly impressed. The service was top notch and you could tell they were doing all that they could to keep us happy. One of the ladies BBQed all of our meat until every last piece was cooked. A bus boy made sure all of our waters were filled and another guy just kept bringing us our food. The marinade for the meat was decent. Not full of flavor or as sweet as what I am accustomed to but it definitely wasn't bland. I guess it could've used some more time in the marinade. The cuts were very thick and the quality was good as there were barely any remnants of fat. You get an assortment of banchan as well as the traditional steamed egg and soybean paste soup. The steamed egg needed a smidgen of salt. Without salt, it tasted like runny water. I got the kimchi jigae only because I like to order that whenever I eat at a Korean restaurant. While the portions were great, the soup just didn't do it for me. It lacked in flavor and made up for it in saltyness. I couldn't even finish it because I had ran out of rice. All in all this place will do the trick but with minor improvements, this place has the potential to be a lot better.

After golf we were super hungry so we randomly pulled in to grab dinner. This place was so great and an amazing experience. The server's hospitality was unmatched. Her attentiveness and ability to make you feel comfortable made our experience perfect. I would have liked a little more spice but everything was fresh and tasty!

Boo Boo took me here for Linner. We decided to come here because Spring restaurant is dead to us. I think Spring changed cooks or something. They gave us hot tea once we got seated which was nice because it was obnoxiously cold outside. We shared the kimchi pancake and we also ordered the grilled fish and sundubu combo and I got the 'peasant' beef stew. The banchan that came with our meal was just ok. Nothing really stood out. My stew meat comprised mostly of tough tendony meat pieces. It tasted good but I couldn't chew the meat. Overall there was plenty of food for 3 people. We didn't sit at a bbq table since we didn't get BBQ. I really enjoyed the food food since it wasn't laced with MSG or oily. I would try the BBQ next time. I wouldn't mind coming here again.

It's no secret how much I love Korean food and this place definitely delivers! I came with one of my co-workers as our last lunch for 2017 and we came hungry and left absolutely stuffed! They have a lunch menu which includes a wide range of items. Of course I ordered the Pork Galbi Set which was their Marinated and Grilled Pork Ribs with the option of white or brown rice and she got the Bim Bam Bap in the Hot Stone Pot. Both came with Miso Soup and 4 complimentary starters. If you never tried a Hot Stone meal, give it a try! The food comes out sizzling and the bottom usually has a bit of hard rice which I call Con Con. Really good stuff! I devoured my meal and she took some of hers home as leftovers. And if you love spicy food, definitely ask for their Spicy Sauce (Bi Bim Paf). It gives whatever you ordered such a flavorful and yummy kick! The waitress is also really good and great at pushing you to try new things! Their complimentary starters always vary from the times I have eaten here and this time it was sauteed peanuts. Overall, the food was delicious and they gave us 2 shots of chilled cinnamon flavored drink to wash it all down. Yup you guessed it, it was good! lol Great service, yummy food and fast service. You can't go wrong with visiting this place :)

    Fried dumplings, just ok.

Superb bbq, unlimited banchan, super friendly and attentive service, and good atmosphere. Kalbi, bulgogi, duck, and chicken consistently good (haven't tried the pork). The staff is really helpful in guiding you if you have questions about ordering or how to eat anything. They cook the food right at your table. Love this place and I keep bringing new friends to try it, they all leave a fan! A little pricey but sure beats going into NYC.

So many 5-star reviews convinced me this was the place to try. With Fink's BBQ now closed for good…read morein Suffern, I've been aching for a local Rockland joint with solid BBQ to visit time and time again. I admit that my disappointment may be weighing on my rating, but let me get this out of the way: Country music? Sure. It's BBQ. That's standard. But having Fox News on both downstairs TV? A very poor precedent to play politics in the area that guests first walk into. Most restaurants with TVs will play sports. Upstairs, they at least were showing Food Network, and that is also fine. Politics is an immediate 1.5 star deduction, and I noticed 13 stars on the menu that indicated this is a recurring theme, not just an error by the waitstaff. I'll also note the waitstaff... well, the one girl who greeted us as first was not the best. She had very little to say, so I asked about upstairs vs. downstairs and she said we could pick. We picked upstairs to get away from the door and the politics, and while that was nice, after bringing us water and taking our order she immediately disappeared and was never seen again. My appetizer came out with the main course, water wasn't going to be refilled unless I shouted down the stairs... very poor start. Fortunately, this was made up by the nice guy (24 years old I think?) who served our food and tended to us the rest of the night. Maybe he could sense the peeve. Maybe he fired her on the spot and took over. But he was very personable, visited frequently to see how we were doing and what we needed, chatted up quite a bit about the food and the restaurant and himself. Great guy, so service is a "push". Other than the music, the ambiance is... interesting. Upstairs is nice and cozy, and there are two sets of stairs leading up to it, one behind the other. Strange. They're both open stairs, but they look totally different. I asked about that, and the nice guy said that the upstairs actually spans two neighboring businesses. Which doesn't quite explain the double staircase but was still interesting to hear about. There are also catered events up there, since this place is first and foremost a catering establishment. He showed us the catering menu, and it's quite a bit more expansive than the regular menu. But no desserts on them, except for special times like Thanksgiving and Christmas, since the owner gets exhausted baking desserts (I'm told). And with all that, we get to the food... First, I tried the sauces. Only two options, neither has heat. Their standard sauce is the darker, redder of the two, tomato based NY-style. The lighter (orange from the outside) is their custom sauce that is apparently Carolina themed with mustard included. I would not call it Southern, as it is rather over-sugared for Carolina BBQ. Second, the wait for the meals was so long, I almost left. It was at least 30 minutes and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Any good BBQ place is doing enough business to have meat at the ready and dishes to prepare and send out. I can finally report that once the food did arrive, it was very good overall. The quesadilla was a little imbalanced - parts were too much cheese and not enough meat. My corn souffle appetizer was delicious, but not Southern in how it came across - too dense and squishy. Southern style is a little softer and puffier. My ribs were tasty but not fall-off-the-bone tender. They were cooked neither low nor slow enough, which makes me think they were not left cooking overnight but rather partially cooked (at best) and completed when I ordered. Which is not right for BBQ. As far as the sides, cole slaw was nothing special. The homemade dill pickles that came with the quesadilla are actually really good! I'm not a dill guy normally. Finally, the potato salad was interesting. Not sure if that counts as a hit or a miss, as the bacon was too crunchy (I can't believe I'm hating on bacon) and the texture threw off the overall impression. Because the waiter who took over was so nice, I ordered dessert. The whipped cream pie is really good, I just wish it wasn't so small for the money, but homemade has its cost and I respect that. Order the $30 pie while it's on the Thanksgiving catering menu! In the end, I'm balancing a lot. Food that would get at least 4 stars by itself, and could be higher with a repeat visit. Both 5 star service and 1 star service. 4 star atmosphere upstairs, 1 star downstairs. That's fifteen stars total, divided by five numbers, so I hereby award 3 stars and will continue to look for a Fink's replacement I can truly enjoy.

We had tried to visit the restaurant on two other occasions during regular weekend business hours, but it was closed to the public for private parties. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not well managed, so the service was poor. On the first visit, we waited quite a while for our food. On the second visit we ordered just appetizers and, again, we waited 20+ minutes, only to get the wrong food and, rather than wait, we ate it, but the food was very good. While we were waiting for our food, we witnessed waitresses carruing food to serve outside seating, and watched them return inside with the food several times, which indicates confused service management bad training. When I got the check, I noticed they charged $11 for a Guinness - pretty expensive for a beer in the suburbs.. We will try it again to see if the service improves,

I took a walk around while waiting for my order and checked out the mini gold course, batting cages (closed on a weekday afternoon) and golfing range. When you first pull up it's not really clear where the cafe/sports bar is, but you'll see it once inside. They had a great craft beer list, heavy on the IPA'a for my taste but there are other options too, including cider. I ordered the Shroomie Burger: mushrooms, swiss, & truffle aioli. It was cooked perfectly, the mushrooms fresh, and the aioli not too rush or overpowering. Their tatar tots are also perfectly crispy. My friend ordered a pizza with sausage, onion, and hot honey drizzle that was really good. No one ingredient really dominates over the other, the crust had a nice char and there was a balanced sauce to cheese ratio. Service was fast and attentive. Great spot!
