For main dishes, the chicken korma is wonderful and you can't go wrong with the chicken tikka masala. And while you're at it, order a side of naan bread. Service is quick and courteous. This was a meal I will dream of for months to come. Easily the best Indian food I've had in Germany, and possibly the best in Europe. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, and I have absolutely no regrets. There seemed to be an excessive amount of flies in the restaurant, which is perhaps a bit concerning from a cleanliness perspective. Be aware of this, but I wasn't too concerned, as this seems to be an otherwise very clean establishment. The food was great, and the service was very attentive. This was the first Indian restaurant I went in Munich. I had no clue where to go and I did not know Yelp at that time, therefore I had to look elsewhere for suggestions of a good Indian restaurant. This is how I ended up landing in GOA. They renovated a bit the decor since my first time there. I am glad they did, it was really necessary. It did not look bad before just a bit aged. The place is not huge and there are not that many tables, and some of them are not very well positioned, especially the ones close to the entrance. This can be a bit annoying, when frequency of clients coming in and out is high. Due to the limited number of tables, if you are planning to go there around 8 pm, I strongly recommend making a reservation, as it can get pretty packed in the evening. The staff is very cordial but not necessarily friendly. Sometimes they can be a bit unconventional. For instance, once I went there alone and was seating in a small two-person table, they politely asked me to share the table with some other person, who I did not know. I have no problem doing that in a Biergarten, or when the table is bigger, but the food itself was already taking the other half of the table. That seemed a bit over the top at that time. As an appetizer, I usually order the "Vegetable Samosa", which are very seasoned and usually very hot. And I mean not only the spice level. It is better to cut them in half and let them cool down a bit. But what they definitely do best is their main dishes, and I really adore their "Subzi Malai Kofta", the 3 balls are made with a potato-cheese base and with almonds. It is definitely one of the best I had in Munich. For couples or lone rangers, a good compromise are the Thalis both vegetable and non-vegetable ones. Then, you can taste various dishes without ordering too much. And all those dishes and go really well with their Naan bread, which is really good but not the best I had in Munich so far. Mango Lassi fans out there, don't think twice, order the bigger one, you will love it! This is one of the best I had in Munich. For the quality and taste of their food, I consider GOA one of the top Indian restaurants here in Munich. read more

If I could give it no stars I would. Although food is okay the service is terrible. Waiters were extremely rude. 15 minutes after being seated, one of the waiter's walked over to us to say that the table had been reserved for other guests and the waiter that sat us down didn't know. My response was that we had already ordered our food to which the waiter responded well you need to eat fast because 'YOU GOT TO LEAVE'. After that service just went downhill as the waiters made no effort to make it an enjoyable meal for me and my friend. Never going back there ever!! Just terrible service. read more

Goa is now in competition for my favorite Indian restaurant in Munich (Natraj has been at the top of the list). The food is fabulous, the service is good and the ambiance is pretty great, too! I have been twice now and had the Chicken Tikka Masala both times because it is the house specialty and it is so good! My boyfriend ordered something spicy that was recommended by the owner, but we can't remember the name. It might be even better than the Chicken Tikka Masala - I actually don't even know if it is on the menu, so you would have to ask about it. Tomatoey, spicy, chickeny goodness. They also have a really decent bottle of Montepulciano on the wine list for €15 that we have gotten both times. Highly recommended! read more

We first went to this restaurant because of Yelp reviews and recommendations and it didn't disappoint, came back 2 more times :) It's a fairly small place with dim lighting, and there is always a lot of people inside (always a good sign), so you might want to make a reservation in advance. Stuff is super friendly, you are given Papadum (special Indian crispy snack) before the meals with sauces and it's on the house. Food is very flavourful, very well cooked and the selection is great. After the meal, they will bring you a tray with different liquors (vodka, mellon, peach, mango, etc), and it's also on the house. And in the end of your dinner someone from the stuff will come to you to say goodbye and give you some chocolates. Overall, a very pleasant experience for absolutely average prices. No thanks. Food is good but service is so miserable that might as well go somewhere else. I don't expect servers to be my best friend or performing some show, but no eye contact and leaning and getting impatient with a few questions means he either doesn't like his job or works way too long of a shift. We came here because of the positive reviews, but had similar experiences to what was described in the the negative reviews (in German and English). The food was 3.5 (Naan was too greasy, spicy dish wasn't spicy at all but tasted good, Mango Lassi was great. Dessert was way too icy from the freezer, which indicated it had been there way too long and not freshly made but tasted delicious nevertheless). He wouldn't explain what it was (our party spoke German, English, and Urdu, but he still refused). But service was 0 stars. First, the tablecloth was dirty (also happened to a German reviewer), second the waiter was unfriendly and made no eye contact with us. Worse, I watched him sit/lean on a table near us as he took the order from another couple -- couldn't believe that I saw definite butt contact with not only the table but silverware... Bathroom is dirty, which leads me to second-guess the hygiene of the restaurant (that combined with the fact that the waiter sits on what you put in your mouth. The shorter waiter was very professional though but only brought out our food. We left a big tip in hopes that he would get some of it. What a great find! The Samosas and appetizers were yummy and service was spot on. Two of us ordered veal dishes (Marsala was mine) and argued over whose was better. The chicken mango was also good! First time dining at Goa. We did not have reservations but they seated us quickly and were pleasant. The restaurant is small but not cramped and the interior is nice. For an appetizer we had an order of vegetable samosas. They were very hot (as in heat not spicy) and very crispy. Never had them that crispy before but they were tasty. Our main meals were also good. They were both very flavorful, with the rogan josh being very mild while the lamm karahi was more of a medium heat level. The garlic naan was the one area that was lacking as it did not have much of a garlic taste. The service was on par with most German restaurants we've frequented, not super fast but polite. We would come here again. Side note: They seemed to have a good amount of carry out orders. They seated all those customers at a table in the back and an employee kept them company and chatted with them while they waited. read more

It is rather difficult to find a good Indian restaurant in Germany. They are too adopted to the taste of locals, so the food does not taste like Indian anymore. But not in Goa. Here all the dishes are just the way they would be in India (or good Indian place in London or Birmingham). The staff is efficient and friendly. omg, I think I must have been craving spices in Munich. This place was sooo delicious and only a 10 min walk from the city center. It's easy to get to, only a stone's throw away from the Isator S-Bahn station. I had the vegetarian thali and he had the saag paneer. Each bite was full of decadent richness that just blew my taste buds away. The thali came with 3 small dishes (saag paneer, some super spicy dish, and an amazingly soft, savory squash dish) plus a yogurt to help put the fire out in my mouth ;) and naan. His dish came with rice. Members of the staff speak English and were very friendly. Ambiance is awesome and the place was crowded, which is always a very good sign. We lucked out as we did not have reservations but a table was finishing up and we only had a 5 min wait (~7.00p on a Sat night). read more

This is possibly the best Indian restaurant in Munich. Service is attentive and friendly, food is incredibly and the restaurant itself is located wonderfully conveniently right beside Isartor S-Bahn. Bucking the trend of many Munich Indian restaurants, this place will serve your food spicy if requested (English hot gets you normally spicy food and very English hot will bring the chef out of the kitchen to see if you're all talk). ( i lived in Tokyo, the butter chicken at Moti in Roppongi is unbeatable, but all dishes at goa are a A+) the chicken and fish masala are very good. i tried both. the butter chicken is very tasty too. the restaurant is always fully booked, you have to make a reservation if you are more than two persons and dont want to wait for an hour or two for a table. the prices person average 20euro incl. a drink.
