I needed 30 color copies, front and back. I decided to avoid the big box store across the street and support a small business. After I had the pages printed, I was told it was be $63. $63 for 30 pieces of paper?!? I told the man I just had the copies and he told me that it is $1.05/per side for color copies, so $2.10 PER PAPER. That is insane. Went in today like in the past to buy a cardboard outer shipping carton to return a purchase Like I had done many times before.They charged me $12.00 for a simple plain brown 14x14x8 box . seemed high. I asked the salesperson why so high he said everything is going up . .so, when I got home, I looked up online and saw that Staples sells them for $4.58 another place for $3.62 . When I called Going Postal later that day a person said that a box of that size would cost $6.95 . I then told him I was in earlier that day and was charged $12.00.He got defensevie, He said there is a $4.95 charge for putting my return in the box . Lesson so if you just need a box have then measure it but not put your other box in that box than just seal it yourself and hand it back to them It is not $4.95 but this seems like a backhanded way to do local business. read more

Why would you want to use a place like Goin Postal for your shipping needs? I don't know, maybe you support local versus hitting up Staples across the street or the Walmart for boxes and other shipping supplies. Heck that's what I used them for in the past. Then low and behold I stopped by to drop off one of those dreaded prepaid Amazon UPS returns. All boxed up just needed to drop it off in the pile with the rest of the UPS pick ups, as this is a UPS shipping drop off location. Well the owner tried to charge me a service fee. Really? No thank you, I'll hit up the evil corporation across the way next time that offers free drop off. I get it, it must suck dealing with the volume of boxed up Amazon UPS returns and not making a dime off of them. I sent a package to a Santa Clara County office and received a notification from FedEx that the package could not be delivered stating "Customer not Available or Business Closed" and that I would have to pick the package up at the FedEx office (about 6 hours round trip!) Stating that the attempted delivery was at 9:50 in the morning. I called the Santa Clara County office and they said they opened at 8:00. I Called Monica at Going postal and explained the problem. I don't know what Monica did but soon after I received a new E-mail notification that the package had been delivered. I went to send my son a Christmas card today. My son is in the military. I asked the clerk if I needed a special form to send to an APO address. He told me no. Wow! Justin moved away and sold the business. Not sure if Justine was just a great guy and helped out every customer or what. 20 dollars to return beauty products because my wife cut the tape. The lady before me was majorly upset rapt a 40 dollar quote to mail a birthday small box. The topper is today....My mother wanted to send a simple framed picture to my nephew in Kansas. The guy charged her $22 to bubble wrap it. $149 to mail it to Kansas. She said "never mind" and he tried to charge her $22 to unwrap the bubble wrap. Brought a large item to be shipped internationally and it needed to be packaged. I believe the owner is the one who helped me, when the packing was complete he was unable to ship USPS as I requested, so he sent me to the Post office and charged me 80$ for packing. He packed the item well but larger then can be shipped internationally. I was able to repack and meet the guidelines. Return to ask for a refund on some of the materials and they refused and kept saying "he did his part". Well no you didn't. First time using this business since the change of ownership and it will be the last. If shipping is your business shouldn't "your part" include knowing the regulations? Better off just buying packing supplies at your local Hardware store and avoid this business. read more

Sorry, but you really need to take care that you don't get ripped off at this place. Today they tried to charge my son twice what he paid to ship some large baggage, compared to what he paid less than a week ago in another state. AND they were insisting he buy boxes also, which Fed Ex had not done when he shipped it last week, and he was using Fed Ex again. We had to go elsewhere. I also had a bad experience with them, and UPS shipping last month, though in both cases they blamed the shipper for the problems. But we'll take care not to go back if we can help it. I don't know if this is a chain or if there are several owners in the area with the poor taste that it takes to make light of a name for mass murder. In September 2018 I was sending something to my sister in Indiana. I wanted 600 insurance, then I got the sell up. Reboxing...Extra packaging.. All of the sudden it's $69.00 to send to Indiana. Sorry, off I go to the post office. 20.00 bucks, got there just fine. Then March 2019.... One box to MO. $29.00!!!!!!! Took it to the Post office $12.95!!!!!! If I could give a lower rating I would. Today I had a large package to send out of state. The package was for a repair, and then to be returned to me. After multiple interruptions with other customers, the worker was having problems with the address I gave him but finally he said he had it worked out. He charged me $70 to send the package (which I thought was high, but I had no idea what a "good" price would be). After getting home and looking at a copy of the mailing sticker, I found that he sent my package to an address 200 miles away from where I wanted it shipped. Who knows if I'll ever get my repaired item back. Just go to the post office or Staples, or someplace else. This place is just no good. read more

I went in and got a quote from an employee for ~$40, but when the owner came to the register, it turned into ~$70. I asked for the cheapest rate, but I didn't know the specific shipping method so the owner just shrugged and charged me $70. I later went to the FedEx website and they gave me a quote for ~$40. Don't expect them to give you the cheapest option just by asking for it. Make sure you research which shipping methods they offer or you'll get ripped off big time. read more

I had used this company over the years, but there seems to be new owners. I usually take my Christmas boxes there for either UPS or FedEx ground services. This day the business owner had me fill out the forms and then proceeded to measure my boxes which were the same size but different weights. I was then quoted $107 for the first box. We are talking a med-large box but max weight 18 lbs. I was shocked and told the man so. He proceeded to tell me wait he would remeasure. So now the price was $98. I still said no that was way too much, I have never paid that amount. The man turned to his partner and asked if there were any "deals" on shipping today? So, now the price was down to $78. I said sorry, that's way too much and I took my boxes to another place 10 miles away. There they weighed, etc and came in at $65 for BOTH boxes by way of UPS ground. This business has always been overcharging but this time I caught them in a greedy overcharge. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Instead drive the extra miles to Ione and use BUD's Ups/FedEx store. Since Jackson doesn't have a FedEx/Kinkos, or other FedEx facility in the area, I went to "Goin Postal" to ship a suitcase, and crib back to my house to avoid having to take them to the airport, and pay the baggage fees. I had done the same thing on the first leg of my trip without any complications but the prices I was quoted at Goin Postal were almost twice as expensive as what I paid to ship the same suitcase, and crib. The employee also told me that I would have to buy a box, which would increase the cost even more. I informed him that I would not have to buy a box because I had already shipped the suitcase via FedEx without boxing it. The employee then told me that the high price was probably because FedEx had recently increased their rates. I suppose he expected me to believe that FedEx had doubled their rates in one week's time but I didn't trust his word. I explained to him that he must classifying the shipment incorrectly (or something) but I might as well have been trying to explain Calculus to my Boston Terrier. Then the truth came out: The employee said that the reason the rates were so high was because he wasn't an actual FedEx location; in other words, his surcharges were what was jacking up the rates, not anything FedEx was doing. I was going to call FedEx and have them process the shipping over the phone but I had a flight to catch, and couldn't waste anymore time. This place is a complete, and utter ripoff!!! Friendly, competent service. They packaged and sent a delicate framed photo to Canada and did a great job for a very fair price. Other jobs have been done just as well. A couple of these other reviews are pretty unfair. How do you compare rates from companies in different states? We have found the rates competitive. I gave it two stars, but only deserves one. Mailed a package to WV, that they made and sent. Never told me price until all was done! My Bad!!! I was told price was high because West Virginia is so far away. I went ahead and paid almost $48 to send a framed picture. The good part was the employee was honest and when she found out that she overcharged me by $9, she called and told me. She is leaving a refund to pick up next time I'm in town. Even though I liked the employee, I'll never use them again. What a ripoff!!!! I was called by the owner with my low star review. After talking with him, I now understand just about everything I bitched about. He and his wife took a long needed vacation and his employee was overwhelmed, being the only one there. These folks are Great! I live in Los Angeles and needed a place near my mother in Jackson that she could use to transact some long-distance business. In the past 3 years, she's used a variety of their services including photocopying, digital scanning, boxing and shipping, and now document recycling. The staff has always worked with her to get these things accomplished, even when it's not something my mom's necessarily familiar with, like creating a digital scan of documents - or even photos - and having them emailed to me. Goin Postal in Jackson is an Amador County gem. The owner Justin and employees are always helpful. I use Goin Postal for all my order deliveries and regular postal. The US Postal system up in Pioneer is dismal at best. It's great to have a local business that I can trust. read more
