We went to Bandon through Gold Beach just so we could stop again at Gold Beach BBQ. I tried the brisket with mac&cheese bowl. AMAZING! Shared with my husband because he liked the first bite of creamy goodness so much. I paid him back by eating some of his beans which had nice chunks of brisket in them. So flavorful with a hint of sweetness. Husband's chicken sandwich had a large, juicy piece of chicken too. We stuffed ourselves. The service was friendly and prompt. Delicious. We made a trip to Gold Beach for a vet visit and this amazing BBQ place is right next door. We had to try it. It was amazing from the customer service to the food. The mac and cheese was out of this world and don't get me started on the ribs and the ranch style beans. The sweet undertones were amazing. The ribs were smoked to perfection. For a no frills, small bbq place, it is great. Don't expect frilly ambiance, this is bbq. And it was delicious bbq. Be forewarned that there is a reason that they have mini sandwiches. The sandwiches are huge! We had two pulled pork sandwiches. The pork was very moist and flavorful. My husband liked the huge size of the sandwich. I think I would have preferred the mini. You can get onions and pickles on the side if you ask. We also shared the mac and cheese which was great and just enough to share. There were jalapeños in it. I would have liked a bit more salt and fresh ground pepper. Wish we would have tried the brisket as well. Guess we will have to go back if we are passing through. read more

It wasn't until the next day did I realize why I was the only one eating there during the lunch hour. Menu is a little confusing for a first timer. Not even rating this but I just paid $20 for a two meat combo of St. Louis ribs and tri tip and this is what I got. I don't think it's either one of those and it's all the same meat. Probably brisket which I'm not a fan of. At the moment my real rating is zero because why do I have to police everything to make sure a distracted or stoned person doesn't get it completely wrong? But I'm sure they don't do this every time. I'll eat my chowder and think about whether it's worth my time to go back. Update: Upon reflection and trying the meat, I think the large, stringy pieces are brisket and the smaller more uniform textured pieces are tri-tip. No ribs. Guess they confused "St. Louis Ribs" with "Brisket". I will say the biscuit was very good. Nice grainy texture. The chowder was sour. We went there Friday night and they were out of meat. We went for Mexican. It was great. We had the BBQ Saturday for lunch. It was so good! I expected it to be a lot better. I'm very disappointed. I read a lot of reviews about their ribs and so I ordered there 3 meat plate. Ribs, tri tip, and pull pork. Two out of the three were not good. The ribs were really dry and not a lot of meat on them. Then the tri tip was just over cooked and dry. The only thing that was ok was the pulled pork but I mean how can you really mess that up. It was a bit greasy but it was better than being dry. Then the drink I got was super fly and not cold at all even with ice in it. It was just disappointing. Plus I read that their cornbread was the best and that was super dry as well. The ribs were fine i guess but, the chicken was super dry as if it had been sitting in the sun all day with no sunblock, and the chili on the fries tasted like plain tomato sauce that was mashed with someones funky toes. And as if the food wasn't bad enough, with my mouth open about to give myself another bite the young, blonde waitress tried to give us to-go boxes plus the check wtf?! There was only one other couple there, so it's not like they were swamped. Came in with my family while on vacation. We were greeted by the most adorable little girl who got us seated and our drinks served pretty quick. The atmosphere is very home-like and inviting which is why they get the fourth star. I had the pulled pork, pork belly, corn bread, ranch beans, cheese sticks, and a slice of pie to go. The pulled pork was easily a 10/10 in flavor but the pork belly was about a 4/10 for flavor though it was the perfect texture, it just didn't satisfy my crispy pork belly craving. The ranch beans were 100/10 because they knocked the socks off of me. Cornbread was soft and moist. Cheese sticks were up to par. The staff made a recommendation for what we wanted: 3 meat and 2 sides for $30. Excellent. We got the brisket, chicken and tritip. And two sides of fries. Bread or biscuit was offered but we didn't try it. BBQ sauce is on the side on the table - perfect for me (don't eat it) to share with my BF (smothers everything in it). The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean, modest and have window shades for when the afternoon rays set in. 10/10 will recommend to you. We WILL be back. Our question now is... We came a bit before closing time, but staff was very friendly and allowed us to continued eating even after they closed. We got 1/2 pound of chicken, the brisket sandwich, and bacon burger. The meats are very tender and juicy. The brisket sandwich is an absolute must for the sautéed onion and cheese made the sandwich so mouthwatering. My family liked to share, so we asked them to cut everything in smaller portions so it was easier to share, and they were more than willing to do that. We went there special for my last birthday. We were repeat customers. I ordered the three meat combo ( the most expensive meal on the menu) and drinks and a desert to go. The food good, not great but good. the place has six or seven tables and i watched the owner go to each table and ask how everything was, completely ignoring our table? I ask the waitress who he was and she confirmed he was the owner. We finished our meal and paid the bill plus a 30% tip for the hardworking waitres. I will never be back because I guess if the owner doesn't recognize you as local or ??
