    Where are you from? California!

Oh we really enjoyed this place - the employees were very nice and the food was great! We ate every bite and had to also get dessert. We walked out of here fat and happy! Extra barbecue sauce on the table is convenient. Brisket, ribs, tri tip- all fantastic! Wish I lived nearby! Glad we happened upon this place!

For a no frills, small bbq place, it is great. Don't expect frilly ambiance, this is bbq. And it was delicious bbq. Be forewarned that there is a reason that they have mini sandwiches. The sandwiches are huge! We had two pulled pork sandwiches. The pork was very moist and flavorful. My husband liked the huge size of the sandwich. I think I would have preferred the mini. You can get onions and pickles on the side if you ask. We also shared the mac and cheese which was great and just enough to share. There were jalapeños in it. I would have liked a bit more salt and fresh ground pepper. Wish we would have tried the brisket as well. Guess we will have to go back if we are passing through.

8 hour drive home, had to find some food. Yelp had this place highly rated with almost 400 reviews. Service was quick and staff polite. Ribs are tender, wonderfully seasoned and well smoked. The dining area was clean and wish I could have sat and enjoyed a beer. Lots of tables and I got a pic of some decor.

Bacon clam chowder Served by warm friendly faces Nourishes the soul A haiku review....

Ribs? Tri tip? I don't think I got either, it's probably brisket which I don't particularly like. WTF? This is not rocket science.

Not even rating this but I just paid $20 for a two meat combo of St. Louis ribs and tri tip and this is what I got. I don't think it's either one of those and it's all the same meat. Probably brisket which I'm not a fan of. At the moment my real rating is zero because why do I have to police everything to make sure a distracted or stoned person doesn't get it completely wrong? But I'm sure they don't do this every time. I'll eat my chowder and think about whether it's worth my time to go back. Update: Upon reflection and trying the meat, I think the large, stringy pieces are brisket and the smaller more uniform textured pieces are tri-tip. No ribs. Guess they confused "St. Louis Ribs" with "Brisket". I will say the biscuit was very good. Nice grainy texture. The chowder was sour. So the biscuits are the only thing I can recommend as of now.

Smoked brisket was great. Hamburger was very good - beware the patty is unseasoned (neither good or bad, to be fair I ordered my burger w/o sauce or mayo). Service was quick and friendly. Good selection of beer, served very chilled 34°F - yes!! Prices reasonable. Ambience of a small town road eatery, which is exactly what this is.

Food was not what I expected. I ordered the pastrami sandwich, and it did not taste fresh. The meat was hard. The French fries were ok.

When I returned the bistro was closed for remodeling. My husband and his mother tried them while I was gone- he got the polenta fried crab cakes and said they were just ok, which is weird for him because he loves crab cakes. That didn't change my mind about wanting to try them. I was very happy to hear of their reopening, so when my brother came through town they were the only option I threw out there, haha. (Well besides groundlings pizza) luckily my SIL was sold when I mentioned chowder- they don't live on the coast so it's an extra special treat to her. She and I both I went for a bowl of their clam chowder and a side salad, my grandson ordered the kids fish and chips with a root beer, my husband ordered the grilled crab cakes instead of fried this time with a bandon brewing cranberry cider, and my brother ordered the fish sando with garlic fries. The clam chowder tasted very basic to me, it was good but not the best in town as they claim. I generally try the clam chowder first at every seafood restaurant I go to, it's kind of a thing, I just love chowder. Theirs was made fresh, nice and thick, has tons of bacon which my SIL loved. I could take or leave bacon in chowder but when I take it I'd rather it be crispy bits sprinkled on top rather than soggy bits cooked in. The focaccia bread that came with it was super soft and made fresh, I just wish it came toasted or grilled. The side salad was very tasty with bleu cheese dressing and house made croutons. The fish was a hit with the kiddo. Locally caught rockfish. Delicious with their tartar sauce and a squeeze of lemon, I tried one of the thicker pieces. Yum. He didn't like his fries for some reason. He shook a little salt on them then dipped a couple in catchup but ultimately left them behind. I didn't try them. We had to ask our waitress for the root beer that didn't come out with everything else. No biggie. It was busy and there was only one waitress for the dining room and patio. We weren't in a rush. The grilled crab cakes were underwhelming and bland to my husband. I didn't try them. The Bandon brewing cranberry cider is delicious, they serve it all up and down the coast. If you have a chance give it a try. The fish sandwich (cod I believe) was giant and my brother devoured it and was very happy with the tartar sauce and garlic fries as well. My SIL loved her chowder and salad and mentioned how she wished she could get her focaccia to come out as squishy as theirs so I assume she liked that too. Overall a good lunch and we will definitely be back. There are several other dishes on their menu that I have my eye on but my husband and I agreed to come back on a night when they are serving their cioppino! Can't wait. I think it comes with the grilled focaccia too.. squee!

I'm glad we got to make the trip up here today to visit and order some food! The ambiance was cool and calm, and not busy when we came. The Buddha bowls are always on the menu, and are the best I have had, and quite generous proportions. The Island Punch is delicious, and if you prefer tea, I have heard great reviews on those as well. On occasion, if they have the Carrot Punch or Southern Banana Pudding, I highly recommend grabbing some. The ambiance is warm and friendly, and you can eat in or take out, whichever you prefer. Chef Chris and Jackie are so kind, and this place is such a great addition to the town.
