At any rate, I've seen some sketchy, skeevy parks in the Denver Metro area, and I'm happy to report that-- despite it's poor choice in monikers-- O'Kane park is NOT one of them. The play structure? IS AWESOME. It's remarkably graffiti-free (no small feat on the West Si-yeeeed) and big enough so that even when it's crawling with ankle-biters on a sunny Saturday afternoon, the kids have room to roam. There are slides for every age and bravery-level, plus lots of tunnels, rings, bridges, and poles. If you happen to fall off any of these things, you'll land in some soft, clean wood chips. Nice! Aside from the playground, there are covered picnic/BBQ areas (available to reserve, if need be), plus ACRES of green field space, walking trails, tennis and basketball courts, and a little pond. Dogs do need to be on leash here, and most people respect that. Of note: the place can be crawling with Bitchy Belmar Mommies. Last time I was there, my 19-month-old had the AUDACITY to touch another kid's sippy cup (the horror!). BBM came swooping in, antibacterial wipe in hand, nose all out of joint and practically busting a vein in her forehead. "Sorry," I said, casually (because it was REALLY no big deal), "he's in that 'grab everything' stage." I didn't mention that when you bring a brightly-colored wagon full of toys and sippy cups to a public playground and park it right next to the slides, you really can't expect other kids NOT to take an interest in it. "Well!" BBM huffed at me," MY kids are preemies, and they just recently got over being sick, so..." In that "..." were implied the words: "keep your filthy kid's germy hands off my stuff." Um, hello? A) You're at a public playground, and that big ol' jungle gym your darlings are climbing upon has WAY more germs on it than my kid's hands ever will. And B) your kids are like, FOUR FREAKIN' YEARS OLD. If you're still playing the preemie card, you have some serious issues, lady. Anyhow, Bitchy Belmar Mommies notwithstanding, O'Kane Park is a pretty cool place. Check it out!

While she was inside a scheduled yoga class, her car was wrongfully towed from the parking lot. She came out of class genuinely believing her car had been stolen. No call. No page that reached her class. No warning. She was effectively stranded. After a long and upsetting interaction with management, it was admitted that: * The tow was requested by the gym * The wrong car was towed * The car that actually caused the issue was not towed * Management initially denied involvement and blamed the towing company * My mom was forced to pay $309 to retrieve her vehicle This isn't just an inconvenience - it's a safety issue. You cannot tow a member's car without proper verification, clear communication, or accountability, especially when that person is actively inside your facility and unreachable by design. The parking lot is poorly marked, lacks clear lines, and appears to be a known issue - yet members are punished for it. The handling afterward was defensive, misleading, and unacceptable. I would strongly urge anyone considering this gym to think about how issues are handled when something goes wrong, because this experience showed a complete lack of responsibility and concern for member safety.

And there is a bit of flat grassy area for vollyball or soccer. The trees are big and beautiful with tons of shade. So why do I give it 4 stars? Because of the brand new learing landscape playground on the adjacent Godsman Elementary School grounds. It is open to the public and there are basketball courts, tether-ball, a miniature track and field, and fun playground equipment for elementary school age kids. I think the combination of the park and the elementary school playground make this a worthwhile outing.

They don't practice changing behaviors they punish their youth and degrade them. They put me in what they called "hard rooms" they're isolation rooms. super cold, super unsanitary, empty, and miserable. I was in one of these rooms for weeks at a time. They put me on SIA silent independent activity's. I was forced to silent and not interact with my peers. They completely ruined how I socialize because I was on SIA for the entirety of my stay. I was 12,they treated me like a criminal. The food there is putrid. I got food poisoning every week. Whoever runs this place should be behind bars for the mental abuse, and controlling behavior they put so many children through. Denver childrens home got a search warrant on them in the past for they way they treated kids who need their help. My heart goes out to the children and families who have been victimized by this DISGUSTING company.

If you are looking to work here, please read the following review. This place cares about its kids…read morebut does not care about its staff. One only look at how many staff have left in the last 2 months due to multiple issues with upper management. If you want to work with kids in the mental health field go to other place likes Shiloh, Tennyson, Children's Hospital, they at least compensate their staff appropriately instead of hiding behind their lack of respect for their employees. If you are looking for a job where you can work with kids on their treatment and their behavioral issues, then you can do that here. However, only take this job if you are fine with manipulative management, supervisors that are never in the dorm and are willing to lie to management about things that they don't do, and if you are ok with getting in trouble for advocating for what you need to be successful. This is the perfect place for newly graduated undergrads who have no experience. If you have experience, move on, DCH does not want you. They will discount your experience, and not give you any respect for the experience that you bring to the table. If you are fine with being a yes man, then apply to work with this organization but be comfortable with losing apart of yourself. DCH cares about its kids but it does not care about its employees; their lack of paying a livable wage only speaks to how low their respect is for their employees as well is with their high turnover rate for Youth Treatment Counselors shows that they are perfectly fine with not keeping staff long term. Furthermore, upper management (Executive Director, Program Managers, Program Directors, and their Treatment Supervisors) all act with the following information, each semester they know that they will have a brand new crop of undergraduates that will follow them blindly and will not argue, so they act with the idea that they have no reason to keep staff around. This is also evident by how they treat their staff. Staff are not able to disagree without it being seen as unprofessional and "not accepting feedback." Upper management is willing to call employees out on their "unprofessionalism" but do not see their actions as unprofessional. In a meeting with the executive director I was told that if a kid is not writing grievances about me, that I might not be doing my job correctly. In another meeting with the executive director and my supervisor, I was asked to make a list of skills that I wanted to grow in and when I stated that I wanted to grow in my Crisis skills I was told that this meant that I was incompetent to do my job. In regards to my supervisor, asking for her to have more of a presence in the dorm was too much for her to give and at one point she lied to the executive director by saying that she was in the dorm more than any other TS, however 20 seconds to come in the dorm to get water apparently counts as "being in the dorm." Furthermore, Upper management is only keen on protecting themselves and don't care about protecting their YTC's. This is most evident as any comments or issues with upper management are easily twisted to make the YTC look incompetent and that the TS did nothing wrong. Advocating for one's own needs turns on the employee as a way for upper management to force out anyone that will "not accept their feedback." Upper management pushes staff out and does not blink an eye because they show no regard for keeping staff long term. They are fine with being below mediocre on their turnover rate for YTC's.
