Best bagels in Atlanta! This is my go-to place for bagels! I've been coming here consistently for the past ~10 years and have tried almost every bagel and cream cheese flavor. My favorite combos are the jalapeno cheddar bagel with chive cream cheese, and asiago with plain cream cheese. If I'm in the mood for something sweet, I'll go for a chocolate chip bagel with strawberry cream cheese. Their honey wheat bagel is surprisingly tasty, but I'm not a fan of their egg bagel- it just kind of taste like a plain bagel... it doesn't have that slightly sweet egg custardy taste that it should. Every time I come I contemplate trying their other food, but I usually cave and end up getting a bagel (I've tried their latkes once which were good). This time, I ordered their seasonal sugarplum bagel with pomegranate cream cheese which did not disappoint! I loved the sugary crunch the outside of the bagel had and it paired wonderfully with the slightly sweet fruity cream cheese! I would highly recommend swinging by during the holidays to try this seasonal pairing! Service is pretty fast-- especially given how busy they always seem to be! Went ON a Sunday morning about 1030am ish. There was a line...but, it went rather quickly. We ordered our meals and everything was delicious. Had an omelet and everything bagel with cream cheese. Was so much food! The sides you can order are fresh fruit, latkes, bagel or tomato slices. Can't go wrong either any of it. There are a few Goldbergs in the Atlanta area. What's nice is they have a to-go pick up area, a bakery, and a coffee station. had a great experience here on a Sunday morning! We were seated right away and service was consistently fast through our whole meal (they even took our drink order as we were walking to sit down at our table, this place moves so efficiently!) I got the Gluten Free Bagel w/ egg and chive cream cheese and a side of fruit (only thing I would change from this meal would be less melon in the fruit bowl, but I feel like that's a pretty typical find everywhere). GF bagels are HARD to do, and usually come out either extremely crumbly or rock hard but this one was neither. Very soft and didn't break just from picking it up. Also had great flavor and toasted well. *chefs kiss!* Other meal at my table was a Sausage Egg & Cheese Bagel with potato latkes. they come with very yummy applesauce and received high praises. also we found it reasonably priced. If you're used to delis from the Northeast, this is probably one of the closest establishments you'll find in the Atlanta area with decent deli food. Goldberg's is like the younger second cousin removed of Juniors. Their shtick is New York-styled bagels pretty much any way you like them, and I have to say that the bagels are just OK for a business that specializes in bagels. I was expecting them to be a bit fresher but they were very bulky and bready not chewy, melt-in-your-mouth fresh the way I expected them to be. They do have a wide variety of bagels to choose from (jalapenos everything, salt, asiago, super cinnamon, to name a few.) They have your regular deli items, deli salads, pickled tomatoes, stuffed cabbage, all your regular meats salami, bologna, corned beef, turkey, and steamed pastrami. Service was excellent - attentive and very polite from the greeters to the wait staff - no problems there. It was packed and it seems like a regular spot for locals in the area. We ordered the egg, meat, and cheese on an everything bagel and added tomato and onion, a belgian waffle, which came with a side of fruit. There were a lot of pastries as well but we tried not to eat with our eyes. I'd like to try those next. I relocated to Atlanta from New York city in 1996. I grew up having eaten at Katz, Carnegie, Stage Door, and many other delis in the city. I wanted a good Jewish deli have a hot pastrami sandwhich. A friend, who happens to be of the jewish faith, recommended Goldberg's deli on Paces Ferry road across from the OK Cafe. Oh boy was I ever disappointed. I ordered a hot pastrami sandwich. The server asked me if I wanted it with BUTTER on it. BUTTER??!!! I simply smiled and said no thank you. My food arrives. The rye bread was toasted, meager amount of pastrami. Worst of all, the thin slivers of pastrami was fried in butter and the edges over fried and crunchy. The sandwhich was absolutely inedible. As I stood at the cash register to pay my bill I decided to buy some bagels. What they charged for a bagel was rediculous. I did not buy a single one. I paid my bill and officially put Goldberg's in my rearview mirror. "Never Again" seems to summarize my thoughts regarding Goldberg's Deli. Is there a real authentic Jewish Deli in Atlanta? Pretty good! I loved the bagels! First time I've ever eaten bagels and actually like them. So I will be coming back for bagels! That blueberry muffin really taste blueberry-ish! Now for the pre-made meals ... I purchased the pre-made vegetable lasagna. It was pretty good! I was really shocked! I was expecting for me to spit it out without even chewing based upon the taste. But it was pretty good. Now this is perfect for you to eat throughout the week for lunch. But do not serve this at a potluck or your friends get-togethers. They will talk about you. We bumped into this Deli while getting gas to continue home to Minnesota from Savannah Georgia. We wanted something quick and not too heavy. This sounded perfect to me. We went into this small, bustling shop,there were signs apologizing for a short staff as you come in. I was worrying a bit. We looked at the menu for a bit and placed an order. I've been here now twice and I think it's safe to say these folks do the best bagels in Atlanta. For those that don't know Goldbergs has been in Atlanta since 1972 and this location off of West Paces is considered their busiest location. One bite of their bagels you can see why. Its got great texture. Paper thin skin with a hint of crunch. Chewy middle but not so chewy where you feel like you're eating a wet paper towel. Stopped in at Goldberg's Deli in Paces Ferry area - Atlanta around brunch time on a weekday. They were busy but not crazy so. They are located in a strip mall. This is an old style NY type Deli. The place had NY Deli charm. I had a Tuna Salad wrap which was very good. My wife and daughter both had Bagels. My daughter had Grits and my wife Chicken Noodle soup. Everything was exactly as you would expect it to be... plentiful and yummy. The place including restrooms are clean and well organized. Service was friendly and prompt. As a long-standing patron of this venue, it is with disappointment that I relay my recent, less than satisfactory experiences. The staff's demeanor, regrettably, leans towards discourteous, and their proclivity to conduct cleaning operations (including sweeping and mopping) while customers are dining is disconcerting. My latest visit on the Fourth of July, however, is what compels me to pen this critique. As is customary, I hurried from work, striving to arrive prior to the 2:45 PM closing of the dine-in kitchen. Upon my arrival at 2:33 PM, I was curtly informed by an employee named Jamie that, due to unadvertised "holiday hours," the kitchen had already closed at 2:30 PM. When I inquired about the uncommunicated change in hours, her dismissive response was, to paraphrase, "I am informing you now." No accommodation was offered, and my history of regular patronage and generous tipping was disregarded. This interaction, coupled with the overarching decline in service quality, has led me to contemplate severing my association with this establishment. It is regrettable to endorse a place that appears indifferent towards its clientele. It is also noteworthy to mention a consistency in errors regarding my to-go orders. An enduringly simple order - a double-toasted bagel with light butter - is often incorrect upon arrival at my destination. This, I'm afraid, is emblematic of the overall downturn in this establishment's standards over the past year or so. The meat (ham) was warm and the eggs may not have been eggs at all (boxed eggs maybe?). The omelette had a bread or fried flavor. I use "flavor" very loosely as the food lacked any. I had no idea that we ate bagels so much less often than in the past! That is, until I walked into Goldbergs at WPF for holiday weekend treats....and discovered that they've redone the whole inside! When I asked when (wracking my brain bc, well, I am in this shopping ctr daily and couldn't recall any type of constructions stuff at their front door) - it was about four months ago! It is just great. The opening space is wide now, so you don't have to navigate the snake line of people against the rail waiting for tables when you just want to go back to order bagels etc at the counter. The new decor has some red and black that pops up the old neutral wood kind of thing they had going on. I guess because it was a holiday Sat at 8ish but they were empty compared to a usual day so I got in and out quickly and got a view of the whole "new" restaurant.
