This is a great buffet place if you're looking for a buffet place. Always a nice crowd. Avoid it on Sunday and holidays unless you don't mind the wait...all of the churches empty out here and half of Albany celebrates their holidays here...I mean Easter, Thanksgiving, AND Christmas. My biggest complaint would be customers who don't tip hard working waitresses. You even see the manager out on the floor, working hard. Very unusual these days. My review is specifically for the horrendous service that I received. When I asked for one refill of my drink, the waitress snapped at me. If your waiters and waitresses have issue with refilling a drink then, I think that customers should have the option to be able to self refill their own drinks. Good food. The pressed fish was moist and flaky. Hard to do on a buffet line. Mexican rice tasted like a bean a mind rice burrito without the tortilla. Corn bread and Brussel sprouts are thumbs up. I had dinner here with my parents and it was delicious. It had been years since we had been in, but I am so pleased we did. I enjoyed some of the best grilled chicken I have ever eaten. The variety of foods is unbelievable. Everything was fresh and hot. The restaurant was clean and well kept. The service was wonderful and on point. There is plenty of room although the restaurant was packed. The only fault I could even suggest is the dessert bar was extremely bare compared to everything else. As buffets go, Golden Corral is generally one of the best, but I have yet to eat at a buffet that gets more than 3 stars in my opinion. I have eaten here every Sunday for the last 3 weeks because it's a regular after-church spot for my parents. The salad bar is superb. The choices are infinate, and the food is fresh. The main buffet is also a smorgasbord of great choices. I always get steak, as it is on the buffet on Sunday. The past two weeks, the steak was pretty good, but on this most recent visit it was awful. The service behind the glass was lousy as usual; they act like the patrons are a nuisence rather than a guest. Thankfully, interaction with them is minimal. The servers have always been polite and attentive. I have yet to run out of tea. This Golden Corral has all the great features the chain could put in place, with exception to the attitude of the cooks. Please be sure to remember, 3 stars is the highest I have personally ever given to a buffet, so this is a positive review. I really dislike buffets in general for personal reasons; I come here for the compaionship of my family and friends who also go. read more

This is my first time coming to this Golden Corral location while visiting Albany. How is the food? The food is great compared to other Golden Corral restaurants. The waitresses are polite and friendly and always remember this location does get extremely busy during the dinner time rush. I do not normally go to buffets anymore. I have never been a fan of these recently. This place is kind of expensive, but the food is not half bad. They have a nice salad bar and fresh fruit. The dessert bar is decadent. The steak is not bad but they cook it all to just about well done. The refills are not exactly fast. They really just need a drink area. Tonight they had bay scallops and they were decent. The shrimp was poorly seasoned, though. The apple pie was cold, but they have hot caramel and fudge. There is a ton to try out. read more

I've been eating at Golden Corral for years, mostly at the suggestion of someone else. The food is not bad considering the fact that it is an all-you-can-eat buffet. I think you get a better value coming during lunch instead of dinner. They have many of the same dishes during lunch time but is cheaper than the dinner time. Servers and waitstaff are attentive. They will check on you about every 10-15 minutes to refill your drink. Never had a problem in my many times of dining here. read more

I have not been to a Golden Corral in years. Didn't know what I was missing! This meal was excellent. Everything was cooked perfectly. Whoever is over the kitchen has got it going on. The waiter was checking on us before we even sat down. Kept our glasses filled with good ole sweet tea and hot fresh rolls on the side. Absolutely enjoyed every part of this meal. Great service! Since they've moved to the new location the food is still great, the staff seems happier and the place feels much cleaner! My one and only problem is that they don't seem to have as much of a selection as they did before. That being said everything that is available is great! Hot, fresh and tasty! This is a great GC. It's probably been a year since my last visit to any of them; and I'm glad to have had today's great experience here. The cook brought out a pan of very large and amazingly golden fried green tomatoes, which I love, and my eyes watered from the surge of happiness that I felt. I just heard last night around 9 o'clock PM that this restaurant turned away linemen who worked night and day to get folks power on! They would not even allow the men to get a to go box! This is the worst case of anything I have heard about the Hurricane Michael! You can be assured I will never return to your restaurant! Folks in the south use to have manners, but no more! I ate there with my family of five.The food was good overall. Salad bar was fresh, we enjoyed it most. Everyone was polite. Our issues were with cleanliness, big issues!! The tables and chairs were not cleaned and very sticky. Waitress used the same cloth to wipe any of the tables that she did wipe, without rinsng the cloth out or using any sanitizer on any of the tables or after each table. Most of the tables in the area that we were seated in were left unwiped for the next customers to be seated at. Waitress cleared tables by putting used dishes and silverware on another table, she cleared plates into a plastic bag using her hands and then went to customers to refill teas and sodas without washing her hands. They need to go over cleaning regulations and hand washing procedures. read more
