Their was plastic inside the chocolate pudding. The service was rude. The first server made my family go to the other side of the Restaurant and say that there are no servers, so we had to go back to the other side just to see a person take our old seat, then the server we had, made us have a different server. She was rude and you could tell she has zero interest in assisting customers. The food was mediocre, the desserts were good. As a pregnant person my cravings are through the roof. My bestie and I decided to go here because we couldn't decide on where to go and buffets have a little bit of everything! I will say it's not the tidiest buffet but buffets get messy quickly. Everything that I picked from the bars was delicious. I had ham, mashed potatoes, fries, mushrooms, cole slaw, and more. I think I went through 3 plates of food. Their dessert bar was excellent and they had a chocolate pie that I could've finished by myself. They still have table staff to run the plates and refill cups. Ours was so sweet and we never ran out of our beverages. If you go early like we did (5:00 pm) you'll be dining with a much older crowd but that helped to keep the standard chaos of a buffet to a minimum. We went yesterday when they first opened . While we were waiting we encountered the male version of our breakfast club only they were the veterans version of men. We also encountered a group of active military men&women. It was a cheat day for me so I had a small piece of pot roast (when I went back &looked it was just the veggies left lol). I have to say it was pretty good . I also had zucchini and squash again it was good . After that I had assorted veggies my favorite being the green beans . Here on Monday at opening time 11Am, I haven't been here in a long time. The inside looked old and worn. First stop restrooms to wash hands and it could have used a cleaning. This place is so hit or miss. The servers are always friendly but the food areas aren't always the cleanest. Bits of different food items scattered throughout especially in the salad bar area. This has got to be one of the worst Golden Corral's in the country. I am not kidding you. I've been here a couple times over the years and it is consistently terrible. Every time I say I'm never coming back, but somehow get lured in with a coupon a few years later. I don't know how anyone can eat here. It's filthy, and the food is never stocked. The only bad thing about my experience at this Golden Corral Buffet & Grill is that it completely turned me into an actual physical manifestation of a Golden Corral, and as corporeal emblem of the Golden Corral franchise, I can now not be unmade, and am cursed to wander this plane forever. By my final bites of bread putting, I could not feel a pulse on my neck, but I could smell colors. I believe that, in eating more than my body weight in carrot cake, cheese pizza, yams, and rolls, I somehow transferred whatever was left of my human soul into this Golden Corral. Somewhere, my essence still haunts it, which I should apologize for. We ate at Golden Corral at New Circle Road in Lexington, Ky Sunday night Oct. 3rd, at about 6:30. The food was ok. They were very slow to put fresh food out. The waitress worked their butts off, while the district manager sat on his butt talking to a guy about UK football. Then when they got finished the guy left and the district manager started changing light bulbs. Then he left. They were short staffed and they could've really used the extra help. You're never too far up the ladder to help, to make your restaurant run better. read more

If I'm looking for a place to spoil my diet or to attempt to explode, this is it. I call GC the hog trough. This is probably Lexington's largest and most crowded buffet... and we have a several. Don't knock them when you find a hair, it more than likely came from one of the 100 people who passed by before you. If you go on the weekends before a certain time, you can get the breakfast buffet and then they change the items out to lunch and you get fresh lunch items for too... that's if you're feeling like a real piggy, which is usually when we go here, right? My last experience at the GC, I had called ahead and reserved a party room for 30+ people at least a month in advance and called two more times as reminders, low and behold when we got there it wasn't reserved and people were in the rooms. Typical Golden Corral. My kids love them. The chocolate fountain wasn't flowing because there were food pieces stuck in the bottom. This was the saddest and grossest part of the visit. People if you're letting kids stick their treats in the fountain watch them! There's a promotion for kids' night, 99 cents for 12 and under! So, definitely a great deal for those that love this place. I just have a really hard time using the food handles after watching some of the people grab their food. Nothing against the restaurant.... it's a clientele issue. Picking wedgies and using the Mac and cheese spoon. Hard pass for me. The food is always fresh with lots of options. I'm just not a fan of buffet foods. Especially where kids will be left to their own devices to grab food. Many are at the perfect sneezing level. I'm cringing at the thought. The bathroom here could be cleaner. But again, I'm not sure this is a restaurant issue or an issue with the people coming in. Toilets not flushed and such. Our waitress was really nice and attentive- I didn't expect that for the type of restaurant that it is. We dropped a piece of pizza in the floor and they were quick to clean it up. Since the reopening we have been to Golden Corral several times. Apparently the dinner time is by far the best. The service is good but menu inconsistencies bother me. It hasn't been the same not once. Usually by the time I get the bbq ribs they are old and dry and forget new ones coming out after 7pm. I don't mind the line and servers but occasionally you'll be in line and there isn't a single server. It's actually very evident that they aren't close to being fully staffed. They really need to do a better job of marking where the line begins as well. For that matter, tables aren't spaced well. Unfortunately on one visit, we had a party of three sit right behind us maybe one foot separation at best. The single lunch visit was the absolute worst. They only had fried chicken, chicken fingers and pot roast as meats that I saw. I really missed the mini burgers, bacon and fresh fixings. To be honest if you are eating lunch, you are eating at a cash loss. They really need signs out front with the main item availability. I hate paying only to find the selection is ninety percent vegetables and starch. On a plus note, on the dinner buffet, the steak has been mostly steak versus chunks of fat with meat on them. Meh... We are used to another Golden Corral that is temporarily closed so stopped here on our way home from the airport. The place is not clean! None of the food my family of 3 ate was hot, most of it barely warm. No one was going around with a sweeper. No one is cleaning off the counters around the buffet where food is being dropped. The desserts looked like they had been there for a week. The chocolate pudding looked like black tar. Seeing employees who were cooking taking food out of the warmers and chomping down is something I have never seen happening in all our years of going to another GC! If I could give 0 stars I would. I am a loyal patron of this GC, but today, in the midst of a global pandemic I personally witnessed a complete disregard for safety and cleanliness. I watched a young girl take the spatula out of a pie, lick it, and put it back in the pie. I immediately reported it and the managements solution was to go get a clean spatula and place it back in the already contaminated pie. Once I saw this was their way of rectifying a dangerous situation given the state of our nation and the highly infectious disease COVID, I reported it to another team member who said she would remove it. This is completely unacceptable and I will never visit again. It shows udder disregard for the value of your customers health and safety. If something was contaminated and reused at a hospital, it would be highly illegal. I strongly suggest retraining your team on infectious diseases, pathogens, and basic hygiene. read more

The food was all very hot the server was friendly and the desserts were sweet :-) the price we paid for all you can eat was cheaper than if we went to a traditional restaurant. How can they serve such great food for such a low price? I only wish they had one of these Golden Corral's near where I live in Duluth Minnesota. My parents insist on eating at Golden Corral whenever they see one. They enjoy the selection of food, ranging from tropical shrimp to caesar salad. I've been to many Golden Corrals. This is undoubtedly one of the better ones. It has a chocolate fountain, which you can dip skewers of strawberries, rice crispy treats, etc into. It has sweet fresh fruit. It has a great wait staff and service. This was my first time to Kentucky, so I didn't know what to expect, but the patrons here seemed a bit...genetical deficient. This is the favorite restaurant of an older couple that I am friends with and I always take them here on their birthdays. Saturday we went with another friend to have a early Thanksgiving brunch. We arrived at 9:45 for the breakfast buffet. The price is $8.99 and it is definitely worth it! They have everything from biscuits, eggs, bacon, pancakes, French toast, sausage, grits, to even a mysterious food called "bacon candy." I was disappointed in the fruit options-many of them seemed to come from a can. My friends told me that if you stay past 10:45 they begin to put out the lunch options. We stayed until past 12 and enjoyed lunch in addition to breakfast! Their salad bar is basic, but still good. I was excited to see baby corn. I love baby corn. The service is always friendly here, but if you stay for hours (like my friends always do), be prepared to have to flag down your server for drink refills. read more

Golden Corral is one of those places that just seems to be happy with it's place in the restaurant strata...solidly in the middle. I only visit GC when I'm with my family. Normally, we head out here when we're on the road and aren't familiar with the area restaurants and are starving and don't want to risk something unknown. The service here was great. The two servers in our area were working tirelessly the entire 1.5hrs we were here. The food was fine and so was the variety. My biggest complaint with GC is usually at the steak area, where they usually overcook my fat and connective tissue laden protein. Here the steak had minimal fat and was cooked to my specifications. I very much enjoyed it. Salad bar was a little wilted. My mother in law said that this was likely the best Golden Corral she's been to yet, and I would agree. My brother and I stopped here to eat in Kentucky and it was a pleasant experience. Golden Corrals are normally dirty, messy and over crowded. This one was none of those.
