There was a good amount of snow in the mountains. Not enough for me to go sledding but I did enjoy grabbing handfuls of the fluffy and icy snow and made some snowballs. I thoroughly enjoyed our white Christmas. After our snow day Maggie's son led us to Golden Dragon. I loved Golden Dragon in Los Angeles so I looked forward to trying it in Flagstaff. This Golden Dragon is different in that they don't have dim sum in carts and it's not located in a Chinatown. It is pretty nice inside and you can watch the cooks cook. Fried won ton strips were crunchy and had a delicious fried flavor. Wor Won Ton soup was a mix of chicken, shrimp, and pork won tons. Won tons were very small and I would have liked a higher pork to won ton ratio as the strongest flavor was from the won ton wrapper. Chicken and shrimp were both tender and had nice flavors. House special pan fried noodles had a delicious savory brown sauce and thin crunchy egg noodles. I loved the mix of flavors from the chicken, shrimp, and beef. Meats were all tender and full of flavor. This is one of the best pan fried noodles I've had in a while. After lunch I admired the golden dragons at the entrance. Loved the details in the artwork. I'll have to visit again next time I'm in Flagstaff. read more

First time eating at Golden Dragon and it won't be my last. I drove up to Flagstaff to get outta town for the weekend and escape the miserable heat in Phoenix. Was craving something yummy and stir fried so I popped on into Golden Dragon. Was sat pretty swiftly as it wasn't too busy. I was presented with Ashley for my server. She asked what I wanted for drinks and answered all my questions with ease. I knew what I wanted already before sitting down so I ordered instantly. The food came pretty quick and was delicious! The ambience and setting is pretty modern for a Chinese food restaurant nothing over the top but the service and the food was worth making a return visit for. Next time I'm up in Flagstaff I will be returning... whether im hungry or not! I'll just grab something to take home with me. Sure there is plenty of places to eat down in Phoenix but with all the choices I get overwhelmed. Plus it's always good to support local businesses. Ashley was great! Food was great! Just received my order from this restaurant. I have to say it is the worse food I have received in over 50 years or more. Not to mention the follow-up service. Spent over $100.00 on food only to receive part of my order. With items I did receive was not cooked or severely under cooked or raw. Had to report it to health department. I was really hesitant given some of the reviews, but we ordered delivery to our hotel on a recent getaway to Flagstaff. The food was delicious and delivered hot! We ordered the house chow fun (lomein with shrimp, beef and chicken), orange chicken, kung pao chicken, spring rolls and crab puffs. They also delivered friend rice given our chicken orders. It was all super tasty, fresh and beats any of the chain type chinese/asian restaurants. We had a TON left over (we were hungry and obviously over ordered) and took it home with us on our trip back to Tucson where my hubby had two subsequent meals out of it! We thought the food was really great. My only gripe - they did not deliver fortune cookies... so who knows what the future holds for us now with these little traditions missing. :) read more

I'm sorry but this was the most disgusting Chinese food I have ever eaten...or tried to eat. Both my fiancé and I left all but about 3 bites on our plates. The dark brown lo mein had no taste and I'm not sure what made it look like molasses. The fried rice tasted like it was 3 months old and the egg rolls which obviously weren't made in their kitchen were filled with goo. We went here for my daughter's graduation celebration and it was a wonderful experience. The customer service was great and the food! We had a group of 30ppl. We ordered our food a day before so that it would be ready when we arrived. We arrived 30min earlier than our reserved time and they were able to accommodate us and still had the food coming out as it was ready. Our group really enjoyed the food and still talk about it. Inside there are Chinese lanterns hung up and lots of leather seating My server was really attentive and he was the only one waiting on all the tables. Props to him! The happy family had jumbo scallop, shrimp, beef, and chicken. I was disappointed at the temperature though.
