Was pleasantly surprised when we tried this restaurant for take out on Boxing Day. We got the dinner for 7 and it was very nice. Flavour was good and portion size usual for Chinese restaurants. We will definitely be going back. read more

I know that it's best to check your order before you leave the take-out department, but it was the Big K's turn to bring food to the cottage and as a child of the 60's he just truly believes in people. I err on the side of caution and believe that if mistakes can be made, they may happen. So I wasn't surprised when the Big K arrived to the cottage with rice instead of Golden Dragon Chicken. It was too close to closing hours and too far to return to make a correction. Hot and sour soup was very thick from cornstarch, but that's a personal taste thing. Beef Lo Mein was nicely seasoned and we liked the spring rolls. The rice was fine. The Big K said the restaurant was very busy and so, to be fair, we'll have to return to try that elusive Golden Dragon Chicken. Some good advice: check your take-out order before you leave. read more

Yeah! This is my favorite restaurant in Jackson's Point. The owners have been around forever and are always really really kind to my family when we come in. My favorite thing on the menu is the crispy sesame beef. Pork eaters: the garlic dry spare ribs are great too. They also give you this crispy noodle appetizer and dipping sauce, which i love. I have tried to find crispy beef that's this perfect, and I have failed 100% of the time. :( See you next year, Golden Dragon. (and the next year, and the next year, and the next year...) read more

This used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant out of anywhere. The reason for 3 stars is that about 4 years ago it changed from one family member to a new family member and the cooking simply fell apart. Recently they've done a better job being more consistent but they need to get chicken quality and also understanding exactly what spice goes in which dish a little bit more accurate so three stars. read more

Food is good, but the service is garbage. It took 10 minutes to order Sautéed Broccoli. To deliver to us, it had to be at least $33.00 for them to deliver. That's fine. However, we ordered Chicken Balls, Sautéed Broccoli, Fried Rice, and 3 coke (to bring it up to $33.00. when the delivery girl came, she was alright I guess. Kinda monotone. Anyways, she forgot our drinks, and luckily came back 20 minutes later. We looked at the receipt THEY WILL NICKEL AND DIME you. A "gas charge" a "Bank charge" on the Coke! Plus tax, the total came out to almost 50 dollars! I would not recommend golden dragon. There are better places in JP than them. The owners and staff are nice, but ripping customers off is not a good business strategy. We will not be using them again. read more

On May long weekend 2015, we went to Georgina (Jackson's Point) for a little get away. On Saturday May 16, we stopped by this place (Golden Dragon Restaurant). We had our dog so we could not go in. We ordered food and told the lady I will be outside waiting with my dog. Well an hour go by and we were staring at the window (which they could clearly see us) and no one was telling us the food was ready. People were coming and going and the restaurant was empty and the staff was drinking shooters. After almost an hour and half, I walked in and asked if the food was ready. The staff looked at me as if I am from the moon and said ooh yeah I am sorry is this yours? I asked why she did not just gesture us to come in and get the food since clearly we were at the window with the dog waiting. She said the person who took my order left and did not say anything about people waiting for food. Whatever I thought and took the food to our cottage. We opened it and there were no cutlery. This place is popular for tourist and I am 100% certain I was not the first one. Imagine the food is extremely cold. The rice is like box. and we have no way of eating the food. I had to go back to (walk another 15 minutes) and got cutlery from her. I asked for half price for this order since obviously it was not well served at all. She argued about it. The food was so bad and we could not eat more than one or two bites. We were so sick after that meal...I am not sure why...there is nothing worse than cold chinese food. I will highly recommend you avoid the spicy shrimp (slightly breaded)...that was I had and it ruined my vacation. I would never recommend this place. The waitress was very rude and absolutely no common sense. Try the Gelato place down the road. Great service and better food. Avoid this place like the plague! read more

Great Chinese/Canadian food, made by a Chinese family. The large dining room is almost always empty, and if two or three tables are occupied at the same time they will tell you "it's busy today!" All the food is delicious and cooked perfectly every time. Their shrimp is large and cooked perfectly in every dish. The portions are each large enough for two people. There's nothing you can order that will disappoint you. Prices are average. Downside: They do not accept debit cards. Only cash and credit cards. read more

There are fairly new owners at Golden Dragon( last 2 or 3 years) but it has been long enough to give a review. In the past this was a reliable old school Cantonese restaurant that was predictably good and gometimes great. Recently it has become very unreliable and the old classics (lemon chicken and crispy Szechuan Beef) are very hit and miss. The lemon chicken was cold,very dry and chewy a few months ago and while they eventually gave a cridit for it they were not happy. The next time when the free chicken was to come they left it out and we had to go pick it up or they were going to charge us delivery and gas fee. Last Sunday we decided to try a new dish, the salt and pepper squid...a dish I love and an old school Chinatown favourite. As this dish is $17.00 I specifically asked if this was made with fresh whole squid (like calamari with rings and tentacles) and was told yes. When I got it home it was a small tub of eraser sized and eraser flavoured bits that looked like small shell macaroni with no taste and covered in hard little bumps topped with burnt onion strips. I was on the phone before I sat down, not only was it one of the most expensive dishes on the menu it was barely enough for 3 to share along with 4 other dishes. After calling back 3 times (nicely) I was offered a $10.00 credit and if I wanted a full refund they would have to email the owners for permission. Dinner for 3 pick up was $60.00 and not extravagant...time for some competition. read more
