I rate these places by how close they are to Mom's cooking, fresh, mildly seasoned Cantonese-American, a very attainable bar. Mom was a good cook with a limited repertoire. Food was just okay, acceptable but not much "wok hay," wok aroma that comes from the slight char of vegetables and meat hitting the hot oil and steel. Without that, Cantonese food will taste steamed. I walked in at 8 pm. The trays were still being filled so it's fresh even after the dinner hour. It's in a big strip mall. There's plenty of parking. There are plenty of fast food choices within a couple of hundred feet. Everyone in your crowd can get something different. The competition is fierce. The Golden Dragon is a very good restaurant that works for all budgets. The food is comparable to Panda Express but better quality and more affordable. The Golden Dragon has fresh made dishes that may be a little more expensive but they come with a lot of food. I ordered the honey walnut shrimp and it was ready within 10 minutes. It came with rice and vegetables and it was enough for 2-3 people. The Golden Dragon may offer Dine in service but the overall vibe was dark and not very pleasant with only seating for 10-15 guests. You are also only allowed 30 mins to sit and eat with notifications posted on the tables. Overall tho the food is amazing and very non-expensive. 5 stars read more

We have been eating a late lunch here just about every Tuesday for a few months now but the past couple of weeks we have not been happy with the chow mein. It's obviously reheated and reheated poorly at that-- it still has cold spots. We don't take it to go so we basically eat it within a couple minutes of it being served. Unfortunately since the cold noodles weren't an isolated incident and seems to be the new norm, we aren't going to eat here for the time being. Maybe they're having management issues? This is our families favorite Chinese spot. The spicy orange chicken is delicious. I also think their Wong tong soup is the best.

This place used to be a good spot for Chinese takeout, but now it isn't even worth a visit. Not only did they downsize the container your food is served in, but now they give you hardly any food. I ordered orange chicken, and I literally got like 4 pieces of chicken. I shouldn't be able to count the amount of chicken I got. This place used to offer generous portions, but now they just stuff your plate with rice and chow mein. This place is pretty close to my school so I decided to try it out, the chow mein was so delicious, love the thickness and taste of it, only got to sample the orange chicken which seemed good at first but they do pack sooo much food like double portions for one entree, some pieces tasted older than others, pretty soft and a little too sweet. Noticed this new Chinese fast food eatery while passing by and decided to check it out! This restaurant shares the same plaza with Ralphs, Bank of America, and all that. The place itself is pretty clean inside. Like your usual Chinese fast food joints, you can get different combos and an array of hot items are displayed for your choosing. For the combos, you choose steamed white rice/fried rice/chow mein + your hot items. The BBQ pork is $1 extra. There is also spicy orange chicken, along with orange chicken, for those who prefer heat in their food. The texture of the orange chicken and sesame chicken was soft and tender. It was a bit unusual since they are usually deep fried with a crunchy texture. In addition, the BBQ pork had a tough and chewy bite to it. Nonetheless, the flavors of the sauces for both chicken were pretty good. The beef and broccoli was also satisfying. The broccoli was tender and so was the beef. The wonton soup is average. You got your broth, veggies and about 5 pieces of wonton. I didn't like the texture of the wonton skin. It had a weird bite to it and tasted either undercooked or kinda old. They even have boba here, although I thought the price was too high for getting boba at a Chinese fast food place. These prices were more like Half and Half and Tastea. Overall, it's a solid choice for Chinese fast food around the area. For that, I'd give it 3.5 stars but had to round down because I'd still prefer a handful of other places. I'm glad they accept credit/debit cards. However, if your purchase is under $10, they charge a 75 cents fee. They also have a cheap catering special -- 6 trays of food for $145! read more

Do yourself a favor. Save yourself a lot of money, time and experiencing bad service, by going to the huge supermarket that's in walking distance from this place. When you're there; just buy a bottle of Chinese hot sauce, and some SPAM. Rip the can of spam open (right there in the checkout line), and take a huge bite. Then wash it down with 2 or 3 good, big slugs of that hot sauce. If you do that, then you'll have a FAR BETTER CHINESE MEAL than what you'll pay for at this place!! This place "served" me the TOUGHEST, and least flavorful clumps of Orange Chicken that I've honestly ever eaten in my life. I am not exaggerating one bit when I tell you that I literally chewed on a soft, damp wad of breading, and then SPIT IT OUT ON MY PLATE like a dog who just took a hearty, eager bite of 6-week old rancid liver. The toughness of the chicken (which was 85% bread on every piece) was evenly matched by the blandness of their Chow Mein noodles. It honestly seemed like they just boiled some noodles, and dipped them in a rancid vat of vegetable oil. Earlier, I wrote "served", because I walked in to this place only to be stared at by the most lackluster pair of 20-year old girls who's looks and actions just SCREAMED "I don't give a darn". One girl struggled to provide less than close to enthusiastic service. The other girl-I kid you not- was sitting on her can talking about something innocuous. The place is fairly clean, and actually kind of looked decent. It was well lit, and had all the decorations that you'd expect from a place serving food in the Chinese Buffet format. I'm sure they're getting away somehow with having the same name as a REALLY GOOD Chinese restaurant that's about 5 miles away which is also called "Golden Dragon". That place isn't a fast-food joint. It's a really good "sit-down" restaurant. But I digress.... Don't get mad at me if you walk in there, roll the dice, and come out filled with matter and pure disappointment.
