Swaneset increased the agreed upon mandate from 104 golfers to 144 golfers on short notice causing the event to be cancelled and refused to accommodate the tournament, with knowledge of the cause that was being supported. This is extremely unprofessional behavior from a course and frankly is morally unsound. This is a very unfortunate result for what was planned to be a great day spent to support a worthy cause.

Swaneset has multiple wedding venues within the premises but we chose the Upstairs Ballroom and we absolutely loved it. Everything about the venue is magical, the entrance/driveway, the staircase, and definitely the massive floor to ceiling windows. The staff were incredible. We worked with both Holly and Michelle who were amazing and patient throughout the entire process. The food was amazing too, my only regret was not getting to eat more throughout the evening.

As soon I walked into the pro shop I was met with a disapproving gaze from Phil Kitsch, one of the golf "pros" at this mediocre course. He was such an A hole the entire time I was talking to him and paying my green fees. He is a typical wannabe, he failed at golf so his treats patrons of this course like they're beneath him to make himself feel better. Other then the course not being good, He alone is reason enough to never waste your money there. The course itself isn't well kept and the refreshments cart lady wasn't even on the course on a Sat! Please Please let them either change their ways or let them fail.

I'll start with its redeeming quality: it has ver quick greens that are well-kept. Now, going onto the bad stuff. My tee time was 3:06pm. By 6:00 I was on the 11th hole. For all of you golfers out there you that this is ridiculous. The sun goes down at around 7:30pm. Half way through a course in 3 hours is just uncool. There was no Marshall doing his/her part. There was no golf etiquette in terms of ready golf with the groups ahead. The course overbooked the course, even when they knew there was a tournament. Last, when I called to complain on the 11th hole, they wouldn't even give us a free round or and voucher, etc. Mylora even gave me a discount when it started to rain a bit (much better customer service). To it off, I didn't even get to finish my round, and the holes I did complete I was mostly annoyed. If I wanted to feel crap, I'm sure I didn't need to waste $40. That being said, I won't be returning, even if someone else pays for my round.

The greens were in terrible condition and the fairways didn't...fair any better. Unfortunately the state of the course wasn't the worst part...the Marshals are a menace who are incapable of doing their jobs, but feel entitled enough to go on a power trip. We were harassed twice for play of pace, when were were clearly waiting for the group in front of us that they did not address. The 4 sum in front would wait till the other group was 300+ yards ahead of them and then duffed every drive, but someone we were the problem. The marshal came up to us, I dont mean beside, I mean physically up to us, almost on the tee box we were on as we waited for the other group to move beyond 200 yards. He yelled at us and asked why we let a 2 sum advance passed us who were more skilled and always waiting on us. The pace was uncomfortably forced and pressured. He was extremely unprofessional and incompetent. To ad insult to injury, the group behind us, hit into us 3 times as we had to wait for the group in front to clear the green because they didnt know how to finish up affectively, but apparently this was our fault. All in all it was an awful experience and all 4 of us have agreed we will never support this course again. I suggest you dont either.

If you wanna go practice then go somewhere else there are really good facilities around but his is not one of them for practicing. However, the golf course itself is really nice. Great greens and heavily tree lined fairways ........It's of my favourite courses in the lower mainland. Some of the best staff as well, friendly, outgoing, professional. If they could just put a couple of dollars into the driving range, this would be a definite five star for me. It is nice to stay warm and sit down occasionally not to mention hit balls that have dimples on them still.

Note-Some newer golfers find it tough, but if you are a seasond golfer you should enjoy this course. Well maintained but know there are lots of redwood trees so heads up. I would recommend using a cart as there are a couple of places the uphill walk can be draining if you are in the heat for too long. I look forward to golfing here again.

The bricks surrounding each hole is quite loose which could be a potential danger for children who walk on it.. The holes were filled with water when we went (probably from the rain the night before) and the fake grass was lifting and some holes had a small portion that was filled in with carpet. All in all, the whole course looks nice from afar but when you're at each hole it looks a little bit dirty. Seymour creek's mini golf would be a fun place to come if you're in the area, want to play mini golf and you don't have super high standards.

As guests, I was sent three entree menu options from the bride and groom beforehand as well as to list any allergies and dietary restrictions and the kitchen and wait staff really delivered when it came to our meals. For my table, there were several of us with dietary restrictions and the kitchen was able to seamlessly work with those and we were able to get the same dishes as the other guests at our table. The kitchen labelled our particular dishes with our names and the wait staff were able to easily identify those of us having a modified dish. For the main, I chose a roast and the modified sauce was perfect. The roast was one of the best roasts I've had; even better than the ones that they serve at buffets where it's all for show. It was tender and soft; I would eat it again! For dessert, it was a standard apple pie with ice cream, whipping cream and a chocolate strawberry for everyone. Mine did not include the ice cream however, there was a dollop of whipping cream on the dish and a missing chocolate strawberry. The wait staff quickly noticed the conversation at my table about my dessert and immediately took it away to get clarifications from the kitchen. It turned out to be a coconut-based whipping cream, which I can have, and that the chocolate strawberry was intentionally omitted due to lactose being in chocolate. Although I have an intolerance, I can still have chocolate so the kitchen was easily able to bring me a piece of chocolate strawberry on the side, no fuss. As someone with an intolerance, people still forget about my dietary restriction when I go to small restaurants and even coffee shops so I really appreciated how attentive the kitchen and wait staff were. 11/10!

They would allow us to go through their Country Club property so the community would become more walkable and enjoyable. Many parents would use this path to walk their kids to a local school. Now they have put up a gate and a sign threatening to prosecute "to the fullest extent of the law." I had not heard of any previous problems with this system so I assume the new management just sucks. If they want to be unfriendly with the locals, the locals can be unfriendly to them.
