I love that they are always friendly here. I went for a polish change only since I do not have the most steady hands. ($13) plus tip. I called before going in and they were able to take me right away which was nice. Unfortunately the polish smudged even after waiting a good 15 minutes after. I guess it is partly my fault too... I learned never to wear any sandals , but normal kind after. The pinky toes (not pictured) were the most smudged. I still will return because I do like the convenient location and friendly staff.

Got a full acrylic set from lindsey. (I wanted to do something summery, with pink and flowers) This was her first time trying this technique and she did such an amazing job! My nails are even prettier than what I imagined and I can't stop staring at them!! They always do a fantastic job and all the workers are very sweet. Definitely recommend this place!

Regular nail polish and still super shiny and great quality . Great quality , great service and great value!! They accept walk-ins!! I unfortunately don't live anymore in this area but my family lives in Aptos and every so often when I visit I love to get my nails done around . LOVE GOLDEN NAIL LOUNGE ! Came in for a nail removal and there is still glue on top of my nail, she also sliced me at the tip of my finger near my nail with the file then brush it off like it was nothing, I didn't get a sorry or anything, and even after all that they couldn't even deduct a few dollars off of the nail removal because it wasn't even done correctly and i got cut in the process. Worst $15 ever. I know things happen but the cut could have been prevented and she could have showed a little bit of remorse towards cutting me really deep and maybe double checking her work to make sure that the glue is fully removed. read more

First visit to Golden nail was a success. We had the pleasure of having Michelle and TT. Both were very professional, kind and their work is amazing. Very detail oriented as we liked. I have always been happy with the customer service and quality of their services here, as I've been getting my manicures and pedicures done at Golden Nail Lounge for years. My daughter, daughter in law, as well as my mom in law are all clients. I wasn't aware there was an extra charge of $15.00 for gel pedicures. It's really not about the extra $$, but it should be posted on their website and or their price lists. I don't know of any other salons that charge this?? Anyway, my point is, any extra charges, should be listed on their website and or price lists. Maybe I've missed it. read more

I haven't had my nails or had a Pedi in sometime. Last one didn't go well and didn't want to be prisoner to having nails done every two weeks. I decided to get my nails done today because I am going out of town to my cousins wedding and wanted my nails and feet to look good. I usually do them myself but getting close to 70 it is getting a bit hard to do my feet. So went to Golden Nail Louge and was impressed. Every lady was so nice not phony nice. Had a pedicure and gel nails applied to feet and hands. Great job and like I said Lynn and Wendy were awesome. I totally recommend this nail salon. read more

I honestly would not recommend this nail salon. I was not given my change of $5 after paying, so I paid more than I was suppose to. When I brought this to the owners attention, in front of other customers she pulled up footage of cameras on her phone of where I was sitting. I explained many times but they insisted I was given my change. It was embarrassing to have other customers staring at me during this entire process. The owner could have discussed this with outside or in a private part of the salon. After about 20 min waiting for her to view all the camera footage, I respectfully told its fine and I left. This is no way to treat a customer ! read more

I am very difficult to please when it comes to manicures. Linda is one of the most outstanding nail techs and I've had manicures my entire life every two week for well over 40+ years. Hoping she stays with Golden Nail Lounge she is a treasure. read more

I went there to get a Manicure( I had requested just cleaning and massage), they got to me sit at the Manicure table/chair arrangement (rightfully so), however I requested if I could please sit in one of the massage chairs as my back hurts and I could enjoy the massage while the nails were being cleaned it- they had four chairs open and all staff busy, so even if a client came, they couldn't have helped them right away....They refused to entertain my request! in fact the owner was vehemently shaking her head and saying something very loud and seemed annoyed. They explained they may have more clients coming in later- really? Later they had 7 chairs open( with a staff of 5 to serve anyways) but ignored to offer me a change even at that time! if they are rather hope to make more money on someone who may drop- in; over a customer in front of them- good luck to that bad practice! Never going there again. read more

I'm really frustrated with this place. It's close to home so I thought I should give it a try. I went in to get a much needed pedi and get my nails done. The lady did fine on my toes but counldnt believe how much they charge for the jell but I did it because I wanted them to last longer. The girl that did my nails was very quit and you could tell did not want to be there.. couldn't even crack a smile.. which was ok but took forever. I was patient but when I saw some bumps and flaws and asked about them she snapped back saying she hadn't finished yet. So I waited it out. Finally after she was done I saw deep divots between the lines from my French manicure line that separated the colors... The nail on my thumb turned up and was super thin and the other nails were either ruff to the touch had harsh file marks or divots in them. But I paid the outrages cost and went home only to look at them closer and get frustrated... I had spent a long time there already and pretty much done with the gal doing my nails. I called back the next day and had another lady, I think the owner "fix them". When I went in She basically scolded me and told me to say something at the time I got the nails done because it's from how I took it inconvenient for them to do it any other time! So now I'm pretty mad sitting there! she fixed my thumb that looked like a spoon and filed the other nails down so thin that the next day I scratch my head and one of the nails breaks off! Soooo! Yes! I go back! She sees me and says.. again?! What did you do jab your finger ? I said nope! just scratched my head! She laughs.. I'm not laughing at this point being there the 3rd day in a row has pissed me off!! I paid a lot of money for these crappy nails! I asked her so now are all my nails going to break off ? That was ignored and I got the silent treatment from Then out. She fixed the broken nail, I sat there in silence while she looked at her phone while my finger is under the light not customer service talk, no apology, no nothing. She said your done I got up and left! Since then.. only a week ago, two other nails broke off! Lesson learned!!! This place is terrible! I hate even giving them one star. read more

I recently moved to this area and Golden Nail Salon is just right up the street from home. The ladies do a magnificent job and I loved my experience! Both Lindsey and Kathy are very patient and attentive to details ( I pay close attention) without taking years to get the job done. Needless to say, I will definitely be back! Unfortunately after giving it a high rating, I dropped to "not going back" When I went with my daughter we were only showed a higher priced menu of pedicure prices, when I found out later the other standard ones were still available but you have to ask. Felt very taken advantage of! And tonight they sat me in a pedi tub for 30 minutes and they still had other services to finish (which were my friends and they were rushing them through). Sad because I really like Ginger. I went to QTie (just opened 5 months ago) on Camden and loved it! read more

always, always, always, ALWAYS come here for my nails. Ginger does the best job, ask for her if you make an appointment. All the ladies there are super nice and welcoming but if you want the job done perfect, Ginger is your girl. They have reasonable prices, nothing too pricey or underpriced that you second guess. They offer a 5% cash discount, so I usually do that. I recommend this place to anyone in Almaden and don't want to travel far :)) read more

Linsey is my girl!! She always makes sure my nails are taken care of. She takes her time making my shape perfect, and I love my nails sharp. I never have to wait and she's always on time which I appreciate, because most places don't care about appointments. this is my favorite place to get a pedicure, the girls are so sweet and friendly. I tried this place out after a bad experience at a nail salon I had been going to for years. Ginger was friendly and inviting. I asked for an ombré and it turned out perfectly. I came back for a fill and pedicure. Linsey was amazing and very kind. She did a beautiful job on my nails. Tram did my pedicure and it was very relaxing and she did a great job as well! After my first appointment, I intentionally started booking with other estheticians at this location, and those experiences were excellent. I never had any issues with pain or my skin. This time, I didn't realize I had been assigned to Emillee again. During the waxing, I repeatedly asked her to be gentler because the pain was unbearable, but she continued anyway. The experience was extremely painful, and afterward my skin developed blisters. I've had waxing done many times before, including by other staff at this location, and I've never experienced anything like this. Throughout the appointment, she repeatedly commented that I had darker skin and darker hair. Those comments made me feel very uncomfortable and singled out. I also noticed her adding something to the wax during the appointment, although I wasn't told what it was. In addition, wax was spilled on both the floor and the table, making the entire appointment feel disorganized and unprofessional. During the service, I told her how much pain I was in and warned that I would consider taking legal action if my skin was injured because I felt my concerns were being ignored. Despite that, the service continued without any noticeable adjustment. Overall, this was one of the worst waxing experiences I've ever had. Based on my experience, I would not book with Emillee again.

Today's experience with the front desk reception is the final nail in the coffin for me to stop being a return customer. I saw there's plenty of small wax businesses with high reviews and for less than what EWC is charging. I never thought to look elsewhere because i was loyal to the brand. I didn't realize i was overpaying! first red flag was being asked if i completed my pre-wax survey and that it should be in my email in what felt like a rude tone. my waxer then came out and was ready for me and the receptionist held me from going until answering the questions - i get it that's fine but being held back from my appt has never happened to me before. my waxer was wonderful! a great experience. i don't want to minimize that the waxers are great there. afterwards the receptionist asked me to charge my card, i said the last 4 digits and normally that's not a problem and the last 2 times i was there at this location it worked fine. but for some reason, now the payment wasn't going through. we think it's the zip code and i ask is there a way i can just pay and update all that at a later time - i am so used to just being able to leave right after that i ended up being late to another appointment having to tap my phone and card several times and each time the machine stated approve but their systems said failed. i check my bank statement and there were 5 charges to my card - all the same amount. i hold up my phone to show them. this is now ~$700 in held pending transaction funds going into the weekend - its was 4pm on friday and banks close over the weekend. i honestly don't understand why i couldn't just tap a credit card like any normal transaction and be on my way - the woman at the reception really had me staying back asking me for my whole address to update instead of just letting me pay and leave! )-: ADVICE: Do not keep tapping your payment method when updating info or if they tell you the charge isn't going through, just ask to pay normally like at any other merchant as a one time charge. i really wish i advocated more when it didn't feel right to be tapping my payment so many times and seeing APPROVED across the payment machine. my appointment was at 3:30pm i was out at about 4pm on friday, may 15. there was only one receptionist at the front at the time. i didn't recognize her so maybe she was new but this experience just really tipped it all over for me. there's a lot of waxers in the area! i advise looking around before deciding on a large chain that has some customer service quality issues. EDIT: yes i have challenged the charges on my bank app already - i just don't have the time to call before lines close for the weekend and the experience over all with the higher prices made it feel like value didn't match spend.

I do not think they keep track of appointments and, if they do, I simply cannot imagine how. I have tried texting and the response I get every time is "ok", even if I ask a question in my appointment request. I've tried making an appointment online and the appointment slots are always available and open, which can't be true. While in the salon, I've seen them answer the phone when someone calls to make an appointment, they are always on speakerphone, and I have never seen anyone write anything down after the phone call, they say ok and then just continue to work. Out of the 5 or 6 times I've been here I have only been seen at the time of my appointment once. Once! I am often waiting 30-45 mins and I stay because I have a very tight schedule and make appointments on the only days I can. I'm currently sitting waiting for my 5:00 appointment and it is 5:40 and there are 5 others also waiting, though I don't know what time their appointments are or were. (At 5:06 my manicurist asked me to wait 15 mins and I said fine....but I ended up leaving at 5:45 because she was doing someone's pedicure.) I have always been happy with the services I've received here and their prices are reasonable, which are the reasons for the 2 stars, but I simply will not be back due to their constant lack of respect of "appointment times".

Normally, I rarely take interest in this type of self-care, but my first impression blew me away.
