    mini cup with mochi topping
    Miriam N.

My sister and I love coming here together for an after-dinner dessert. I love the consistency and richness of their froyo, especially compared to the pay-by-weight places. The mini size is a good portion for us and they give you a LOT of the topping you choose, both on the bottom of the cup and around the top. Their service is fast and friendly. They even have a rewards program (free mini after 10 visits, I think?). The interior is quite small with minimal seating, and it can get cramped with people waiting in line, but there are benches outside/around the plaza where you can sit. Highly recommend!

Been coming here for years. Glad I was able to take my son to enjoy a cup of their frozen goodness. We submitted a kids creation and one a free mini and got his pic on the wall of fame. Appreciate the goodwill from Golden Spoon. It brings excitement to creating yummy dessert and core memories. Be back soon.

Service is always friendly here! To me, this is the most important part! They welcome you in and offer you samples. The yogurt is yummy and flavorful. I enjoy the peanut butter with peanut butter cup toppings (totally over the top!) and also the vanilla with cheese cake toppings. Amazingly, toppings are still $1.10 for a mini (same as two years ago!). The ambience is causal and there is little seating but come enjoy on a summer day and sit outside as there are several benches around the area.

Excellent little froyo place in Rancho Penasquitos. They do things a little differently than your typical Menchies or other froyo places and don't charge by weight, but you can pick 2+ flavors (a mini comes with 2 flavors + 2 toppings, which was the perfect portion!) I kind of liked this better because you don't have every grubby little hand touching all of the handles and toppings and things You don't really find prices this decent anymore !!! Great for a little froyo fix on a warm day Kris has excellent customer service

We stopped by on a Friday afternoon for a sweet treat for the kids. I forgot about this location and how it's hidden in this busy shopping center. This location is very tiny, probably enough for fit about 6 customers at one time. We walked in and there were a couple parties ahead of us. The service is quick and people that come here seem to be regulars and know what they want. It had been years since we frequented a GS since many have closed. The flavors are limited but the toppings are plentiful. I chose a mini coffee with Oreo cookies. My kids chose a mini chocolate with chocolate sprinkles and mini vanilla with sprinkles. My husband got a tart with no toppings. Tax is already included in the prices. If you choose a toppings, make sure you read the fine print because you can get up to 2 toppings if you add one to your order. I believe you are able to get a couple flavors of froyo as well which I totally forgot to do with mine. A mini is just enough and we enjoyed our visit. The young guys who worked there were friendly and inviting. There is only 2 tables inside with 4 chairs. There is one bench outside GS where you can enjoy your treat. Ample parking and located next to Knotty Barrel (separate building from the grocery store).

I haven't been to Golden Spoon in many years and I'm happy to say that it's just as good as I remembered it. The froyo is the perfect consistency and they give you a good amount of portioning for the sizes. I love that they put toppings on both the top and bottom so you get the perfect amount. The staff were very friendly and welcoming which made the experience even better.

Came here for a sweet treat and I was pleasantly surprised. There is a good variety for froyo flavors and they change them up. I like that there is an option for toppings included in the price. The prices are super cheap. I got cake batter flavor and enjoyed it.

I've been here twice in a week. My daughter and I are officially addicted. The same guy Chriworks there day and night. He probably has a bed in the back. This guy Chris helped us out both times. Totally cool dude and encouraged us to sample. The product is delicious. Not a lot of room to sit inside but they have a table outside to enjoy. Don't forget to sign up for their rewards program.

My friends and I were just looking to get a coffee in Little Italy, but when we walked in and saw all the delicious treats we had to try something else as well. I ordered a latte and neglected to tell them it was for here so I was given a paper cup, but they give real cups if you ask. The latte was good, and my friend bought a kitchen sink type cookie with chocolate, coconut, and macadamia nuts. It was warm and gooey good! Another friend tried the gelato and said it was very good. There are a few tables inside and tables out in front outside. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful San Diego weather. The decor and tables definitely gives you an old school Italian neighborhood vibe with Italian markets right next door. If I am in the neighborhood again, I would definitely come back here to try the gelato and/or a piece of an excellent looking lemon pie bar I spotted.

The decor and setting is cute and quirky, including cow sculptures hanging upside down from the ceiling. There were only a couple other visitors when we arrived, as it was near opening time. Our dishes took a whopping 35 minutes to be ready, and service was not very friendly nor helpful. Luckily, the music playing through the speakers added a nice vibe to the place, songs like Our House by Madness and Can't Fight This Feeling. We ordered the brunch pizza (with eggs cooked overeasy) and the breakfast flatbread which looked almost identical when served, as well as an iced mocha. The quality of the pizza was pretty average, and the eggs were slightly overcooked. The drink was really good, made fresh, with a smooth taste and a nice sweetness to it, the plastic cup coated in chocolate sauce. It tasted more like chocolate milk with a hint of coffee, which I personally enjoyed. They typically serve gelato here, but it would not be ready till almost two hours after opening time. So no milkshakes or cold desserts were available in the morning this past Sunday (no worries, Ghirardelli is just a block away). I appreciate the variety of menu items offered here. But they really should communicate online that their gelato's not ready till two hours into the day. If there's one thing that irks me about an establishment, it's failure to communicate appropriately. Even though our recent visit was somewhat disappointing, I still gave 3 stars, assuming this was an off day for them.

We stopped by recently and got incredibly lucky--there was no line in sight, so we walked right up to order! The Cookies: Gooey, Crisp, & Perfectly Balanced My wife decided to try a trio of cookies, picking out Snickerdoodle, Peanut Butter Reese's, and classic Chocolate Chip. They completely nailed the texture. Every single cookie hit that golden sweet spot--warm and gooey in the middle with just the right amount of crisp edge. What really stood out was the balance of ingredients. Chocolate Chip: Perfectly measured so you get sweet chocolate in every bite without feeling overwhelmed by chips. Peanut Butter Reese's: An absolute dream ratio of rich peanut butter to chocolate peanut butter cups. Snickerdoodle: Perfectly spiced, striking just the right "snicker-to-doodle" balance! Of course, we couldn't leave without trying the ice cream. I ordered a combination of Cookie Monster and Campfire in a single scoop. The portion size was remarkably generous--it completely filled up the small cup and delivered a fantastic mix of flavors. My wife went with a scoop combining Espresso Oreo and Mint & Chip, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, these were easily some of the best desserts we've had in a very long time. Whether you're a local or just exploring the downtown area, Milk & Cookies is well worth a visit.
