We went here because I wanted sushi and other ppl wanted hot Chinese food. This place has both. Service felt rushed, they kept asking for us to order when we were just looking at the menu. Also my sushi initially was bought out with cream cheese which was not what I asked for. They had to redo it. The sushi fish was not as fresh as a full Japanese place. The bamboo shoots with pork was not tender. The veggie bean sprouts were tough too. I really liked the braised eel in brown sauce. The other Chinese dishes were clam soup which was good and simple, the meatballs. Overall the bill was not the cheapest with tip came to about $200 for 3 people. I'm glad they seem to not use too much MSG. Anyways it's a good place to come if you want both sushi and authentic Chinese food. Nice ambiance, modern, clean.

We have been going there for many years. Lately the cleanliness is poor. we sat at a table by the windows. there were a lot of flies in the window sill and flying around the table. one flew into the soup and one flew into the glass of water. The standard of food has gone down. the green tea was just hot water. the new waitress was not friendly or efficient. last week my brother ordered chicken with garlic sauce and instead was served Curry chicken. over all a bad experience the last 2 times. will not be going there again.

I gobbled up the boiled tofu and spinach soup before I even thought about taking a photo, but at least you can see the other two appetizers I had for lunch yesterday (scallion pancakes & steamed shrimp dumplings) (same dipping sauce for both). All three items really good. I've been here a few dozen times because it's near my office. Their "Bento" boxes are a good deal: salad with ginger dressing; Shumai (little fishy dumplings); California rolls; a veggie (usually broccoli); and the entree. My favorite is the shrimp & veggie tempura. They do both Chinese & Japanese. When they bring the check, a chocolate fortune cookie is an option. Large easy parking lot in front.

Shrimp and lobsters sauce was good.

A refereshing change from the former and very popular Kikkus. The interior is far more relaxed, and the food is a bit more traditional. I prefer this vibe. The sushi was fresh, the service was friendly, the wontons were light, the soup wasn't too salty, the shrimp and lobster sauce was really flavorful and shrimps were big and cooked perfectly. Nice place to stop in for any type of experience, quiet enough for a date, nice enough for a light business meeting, friendly enough for mom or family etc.

I came in here most recently with my folks, armed with a restaurant.com gift card. Four stars for the dinner box value, 3 stars for everything else on the menu, and 1 star for our awful waitress who seemed to have been born without a voice and/or personality. Upon being seated, be prepared for an overwhelmingly long menu that'll give you good memories of your neighborhood Chinese take-out joint. Add in the Japanese section and you've got quite a lot of reading! At the first opportunity of communication, our waitress failed miserably, unable to answer grade-school caliber questions such as "is this spicy?" or "What type of sauce is this?" When I say FAIL, I don't mean she didn't know the answer, I mean she LITERALLY SAID NOTHING. Needless to say, this was a painfully awkward experience that shouldn't have been. I started with a specialty sushi roll and ordered the Mango Thai w/ beef. Mom and dad ordered the chicken w/ eggplant and Lamb w/ scallions, respectively. A selection of the dinner items are available on the "Dinner Box specials" menu, which includes either two dumplings or a spring roll, a soup, and a dessert for only an extra $3 over the a-la-carte entree. As mentioned before, that sweetens the deal for the already fair menu prices here at Golden Temple. For dessert, my father asked our waitress for the green tea ice cream, only to find out from another server (remember, our waitress doesn't talk) that only chocolate and vanilla are included. OK not a huge deal, but is green tea ice cream really that much more expensive or something that you can't just include that too?! Oh, and when we showed our waitress the restaurant.com coupon?! Fuggedaboutit! She looked like she was going to have a straight up heart attack right next to our table. She scurried off into the back kitchen with our coupon and was thankfully able to apply the $25 discount. Had it not been for our mute waitress, I'd say the experience was good overall. Considering the friendly hello's and goodbye's we got from the other staffers working, I don't think it's a stretch to expect a basic level of communication skill and knowledge of the menu from ALL of the servers here...just sayin'

We ordered for delivery. Don't remember asking to add a roach in my order. I think the pics speaks for itself.

I found this place on Find Me Gluten and was so excited to try it. The staff were so kind and very well informed about my allergies. The entire menu can be customized to be gluten-free. They told me they have seperate, dedicated fryers for items like tempura and that the only items that I couldn't have were the tamago, eel, imitation crab and the dumplings. We got an order of the shrimp and vegetable tempura and the Rock shrimp (which was suggested to us by the staff). Both were absolutely delicious. They gave me my own gluten-free dipping sauce for the tempura as well as gluten-free soy sauce. We split the sushi for 2 and they made sure the tamago my husband ordered for himself wasn't touching my pieces. I had the lox roll with that and we ordered a Las Vegas roll to split, which was customized to remove the imitation crab and swapped for shrimp instead. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious, especially the salmon. I was so happy to enjoy a wonderful meal like this again. They gave us some sashimi on the house and some fresh honeydew for dessert. The place was beautifully decorated and very clean. To top it all off there were no extra charges for making anything gluten-free! I will gladly come back here again.

And while I appreciate dedication to the craft, the time allot to prepare and plate just seem to stretch on interminably. If you plan on visiting this place with another guest, prepare lengthy conversation topics! Pros: Each piece was absolutely delightful. The only piece I personally didn't enjoy was the Kimmedai-Golden Eye Snapper. My favorite pieces are any of the tuna. It was really good, I'm not much of a fatty tuna lover but it was seriously really yummy. Also I don't really like uni so I was skeptical to try it, but the uni was so creamy and perfectly chilled it was heavenly. Every other piece was just so unique and delicious. The chef's were fun to talk to and told us that the menu will be changed every two weeks. The dedication and creativity in that alone is commendable. Overall I had a good experience, the bar in front and hidden door adds to the mysterious feel. I didn't feel like the waitstaff was breathing down my shoulders like I have experienced in other places which I think is important to note. I will also say the bathroom is also beautifully constructed. The menu is personalized by printing the customers name on the top right corner which I thought was a cute touch. The 16 piece course left me feeling perfectly full. Overall had a memorable experience and will go back to try out their updated menus!

The Crazy Roll (spicy tuna, yellowtail, salmon, crunch, avocado & cucumber) delivered a nice spicy kick with great texture from the crunch. The Super Dragon Roll (panko eel, avocado topped with julienne crab and red tobiko) was rich and satisfying. The panko gave it a nice crunch while the toppings brought sweetness and color. The Sweetheart Roll was a solid pick too, with a good balance of tempura, crab, and the smoked salmon/cooked shrimp on top. The fish tasted fresh overall, rice was properly seasoned, and the presentations were appealing. Service was friendly and the spot has a comfortable vibe for a casual sushi dinner. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Melinda, one of our favorite waitresses, and were seated right away. May, who was also working tonight, promptly came over to take our order. She politely asked if we needed menus, but I declined since we already knew exactly what we wanted. We've had this same exchange with May quite a few times during our recent visits. We ordered our usual: the Sushi for Two, which comes with two specialty rolls and 18 pieces of sushi. Tonight we chose the Dozo Dozo and the Futomaki Special rolls. The meal also comes with either soup or salad, and tonight we both chose the soup. That's how much we love this dish. We had just returned from a two-week trip to South Florida this past Saturday, and the very next day--Sunday--we came here and ordered the exact same meal. And here we are again tonight doing the same. This restaurant consistently serves some of the freshest, premium-quality fish around.
