Goldsmith's students union is a fabulous place, as long as you have student I.D- they won't let you in otherwise. The bouncers are all awesome guys, they look very burly but will not take any nonsense. Be careful! I have made sure to make friends with them and they are all lovely. The union hosts many gig nights, comedy nights and special Tuesday pund a pint night, available to anyone. But, the raucous night on a Wednesday, know as club Sandwich, is where all the fun is to be had. The music is cheesy and unpretentious. The night always ends on Naive by the Kooks, and next week is the special Christmas night- catch it if you can! They have £2.50 doubles and other offers on beers, making it an inexpensive night. £2 entry with N.U.S before 10. It is painted in a garish pink, very suitable, with two floors of mischief. The upstairs dancefloor is big and sweaty, but use the downstairs bar for drinks purchases and sitting down as it gets far less hectic. I am proud that this place is my university union- much more diverse and exciting than any other in London. read more

What else do you want in a student Union? It's got great drink offers, events going on ever night. So Pound-a-Pint isnt quite a pound any more, but it's still a proper bargin. Get great comedy acts in for the area. A great space for gigs and events. So it gets a bit sweaty, so it has its horror stories (who will forget that little present left on the dancefloor last year), but it has a little bit for everyone. read more

Ah, memories! Sweet, sweet drunken memories. Two pound beers, ear shattering music and students, students everywhere The Goldsmiths SU is tremendous fun when you're an actual poor student - the appeal of getting exceedingly drunk for £8 is not to be underestimated. It also seems to hold a tremendous appeal for ex-Goldsmiths students who have since gone on to become accountants and want to get back in touch with their 'alternative' roots. In conclusion, the drinks aren't good - but they're cheap; the music may not be great - but it's loud; and the outfits might be outlandish - but there is a general air of fabulousness to the old Student Union. It is best to remember that the loos are on the bottom floor, though - so set out for them in good time. read more

A pretty cool venue for gigs as the drinks are all dirt cheap, the space is small but not tiny and there's the union aspect of it which means that there are loads of sofas in the back room by the bar meaning you can sit out any awful support bands in comfort if needs be (and with all the Goldsmiths student bands this is a distinct possibility). I don't know how difficult it is to get in if you're not a student. We got asked for student i.d. when we went in but were on the guestlist which was no problem which suggests it's not too difficult. read more

Club Sandwich is a fun time to be had by all! Everything is quite cheap, entry 2.50, drinks 2 pound. Dancing until three. DJ leaves something to be desired, they play some weird stuff, I've had to request "dance music" before. However, everyone is having fun so the music can be ignored. Lovely student club! read more

The Goldsmiths College Student Union Bar is a fairly dull-looking hall with a stage at the front and a pub at the back. The sound system is fairly good for indie and rock music but can't hold dance music very well. The nights here can be great but can also be absolutely rubbish, it's very hit and miss. However, despite it being up a few flights of stairs, there are balconies for smokers meaning they don't have to run up and down stairs. You do have to, however, if you need to go to the toilet as they're on the bottom floor. read more

This little gem is in the heart of good old down and dirty new cross, South London. Situated outside the main building of Goldsmiths University, it is a lively, fairly large bar/venue which holds various nights every day of the week. During the day you can sit, have a pint with your mates and play some pool, and go there at night to party hard, and get drunk with only a tenner in pocket! They have a fairly young vibrant crowd, a big dance floor, Dj's, and even live bands on Thursdays! Plus, who doesn't love the deep dark south? A visit to the kebab shops right outside is always necessary too. read more

Pretty neat. I'm not a student at goldsmiths but got in fine with a friend who goes there. Good music tonight. Sure it would be an ace place to watch live music and have a drink if you knew lots of people who go here. Seems like there's an inspiring and diverse bunch of nights put on by Uni peeps. read more
