This course holds a special place in my heart because this is where I learned to play. It's a very reasonably priced course $25 to walk. The layout includes some elevation change with generous fairways. Most holes are tree lined but only a bad shot will reach the treelike. The greens in my opinion are average sized for a small town course. The offer some undulation but not too difficult to read. They take good care of the greens as they tend to roll very nice. Some of the fairways are a bit bumpy with a cart. This can be a very busy course because a lot of people play here. I assume because of the value. If you want a nice golf experience this course can't be avoided on a trip to the iron range.

As a golfer who tees off from the forward tees, it was quite a long course. With the extra water on the course and getting no roll, it was even longer. Despite the challenges, the holes were beautiful and fun to play. Every staff person we met made us feel welcome and were helpful as we were first time players. Carts had screens to indicate yardage. They also had messaging such that if you left a club on a hole, you could text a ranger and they would retrieve it for you. Really great experience.

Then she came out and said they didn't have what I wanted so I got whatever they had. And to top that off, she set me up with a left handed set and I didn't realize it until we were already out on the driving range. So of course I had to go all the way back. Waste of my warmup time. Otherwise- the course was well marked and well maintained and freakin fun!!! I was annoyed at the back 9 that some guy and his kids jumped in front of us while we were getting refreshments. However- I found out that they were in front of the group in front of us, and they let that group play through. The bar had a boozy iced coffee that we shared. It was good! The pro shop was keen to let us know that we could contact them at any time through the screen chat on our golf cart. Yeah, I tried that, and it didn't work. Stupid function. One of their bathrooms is more like septic? But that warned me in advance so I just waited til the end of the front 9 to use the one in the clubhouse. For whatever reason, the clubhouse was only serving food off the grill. The main restaurant was closed?!?! We were sad about that because my in laws were supposed to meet us after our round, for lunch there. So we called them and cancelled that plan. Other than a great day at golf, I will compliment them on a couple things- there is an attendant in the parking lot that brought a golf cart right to us, which was awesome. But we didn't need it. We didn't have our own clubs, we were renting. But still, that was very nice. Also, the shop was well stocked! I found two shirts that fit my husband and we bought both, along with a hat for him. He was so pleased. Usually the shirt sizes are way too big and loose on him. They had a fitting room there that he used and I brought him at least 10 shirts to try. The course was littered with deer and lovely flowers. It was so pretty. The carts have a nice gps function and on some holes, show you where carts ahead of you are, if there is a blind spot. The greens fees and cart fee and rentals are expensive. But it was definitely worth the experience. I just wished for better rentals, more time in the practice area and a fully functioning restaurant. But we may be back next year.

He's all over the place - at the Club House welcoming and showing guests around and on the course itself - he's very professional and knowledgeable . Just don't be a brat and be sure to bring your carts back before 7:30 pm. Middle of September with the perfect weather and you're all set for a nice day of hitting golf balls. New to golf or old, you'll find it very easy to play here. They're open from early spring to mid-October (late fall and depending on the weather!). This golf course is in Walker, MN, where people in general boast the Minnesota nice culture. The holes are easy to find , if you ask me . The grounds are well-kept, very lush greens, lovely trees and such a great dose of Nature Rx! They have resident bald eagles who aren't shy to show off mid tee. The club house staff is fairly new and no more Ms. Crabby, whew! Find Kim, Lori or Mike getting you set up and ready for your make-believe Masters tourney. Pricing is, for a Californian like me, a party like it's 1989! The phone here is always ringing so make sure you call in to make a reservation. They also have a very sweet club membership program. Their bathrooms (can't leave this out) are nice, clean and all-gender. There are plenty of drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. My company recently held an event here to benefit The Pancreatic Cancer Society and the turnout (even volunteers!) was amazing. The crew's energy at this golf course is unwavering! Easy-peasy and hassle-free fun for a day. So you can stop reading here now, head out to the course and don't forget to bring your best swing!

Course is well cared for too. I've played most of the other courses in the area and this is my second favorite after Headwaters. This is the last course we played during our stay in MN…read more Sandtrap is a 9 hole course that plays about 3,200 yards and was surprisingly a very nice layout. Our tee time was for 9am and we were able to check in and tee off immediately which is always a plus. The tee boxes themselves were pretty chopped up however the fairways and greens were in good shape. Greens are a little slow but soft enough to hold the approach shots. Pace of play was good. Never felt rushed and were never delayed on our pending shots. Sandtrap is a fun track and a good value for what you get.

The worst part about this course is that they are charging $59 per person to play 18 holes with a cart. I wouldn't even pay $20 to play this course if I had the opportunity to again. Everything about the course is in bad condition. There's missing grass spots on the Teebox is the fairways have weeds all over the place and the greens are in the worst condition I've ever seen. I would never recommend anybody to come play this course for the price they currently have and the condition it is currently in. also it doesn't seem like the greens and then mowed in days. I work in golf course maintenance and greens are supposed to be mowed every morning and these greens are longer than I've ever seen
