    Pepperoni pizza

The pizza was excellent. We ordered a traditional pepperoni and we didn't wait too long for it. We ordered some appetizers as well, garlic mushrooms and nachos. This is all that was left of it. we were too hungry and didn't take a pic! Would definitely recommend it. Staff was super nice and they were getting ready to close but they still let us order.

Great place for Mexican food. It was our last meal in San Miguel and did not disappoint. Ambiance and restaurant are beautiful. Service 5 stars. Food is great.

After trying to get a little bit further from the chaos of the center, my friend and I stumbled into Gombos. We ordered drinks and chips and guacamole initially and were really pleased with the service and quality of the food. The guacamole was a little spicier than we expected it to be but so delicious! When we ran out of chips on our plate but still had leftover guac, a waiter brought us some more before we even asked (which felt huge, since I feel like most countries don't offer free refills on things). We ended up sitting for awhile and eventually ordered dinner as well and the portion of pasta was huge. I had low expectations for ordering pasta in Mexico, but the carbonara was surprisingly good! This place was packed the entire time we were there, so it seems it's a not-so-hidden gem! My only complaint was the bathroom situation. There are two stalls....with no doors. So if you use the bathroom, be selfish and lock the main door if you want any privacy.

Came to this place in search for a heavy craving for Spaghetti Carbona this Friday night (Hr: 1920). I was a little hesitant on coming to this place because of the little reviews left on this place, scant pictures of food, and blurry images of the menu. However, this place is a gem in the midst of over priced foods and so-so service by the plaza. The walk was not bad from the center (approx 2 blocks). Walking in I was greeted by the owner and another staff member and sat us quickly. Our party was vibing with the music, it was not so loud that you can not carry a conversation at the table. After being seated, I went to the restroom (which Can use an update in lighting- but was satisfactory) and came back to complementary warm freshly made garlic bread which was flavorful (pictured below). After ordering our drinks (the mezcal was tasty and at a good price), I asked the staff to put the fútbol game going- they were happy to do so. The food came quickly and at a good temperature. Portion sizes were great and I was left feeling full prior to me finishing the dishes (and Im used to American portions). Overall I would come back. The staff was kind, food and drinks were tasty and at an affordable price. Would recommend to all my friends coming to the area- if vexing Italian.

Visiting San Miguel de Allende and felt like having pasta. Found Gombos on Yelp and so glad we stopped in for an early dinner. Ordered the shrimp bisque and Spaghetti Carbonara. OMG, DELICIOUS!! Small little place with excellent service. Don't pass it up. We felt like we were in a small country villa in the Italian countryside.

There are two Gombos, owned by the same folks, and I use the one which is located in my neighborhood of Colonia Guadalupe, corner of something and Tato Nacho.

It's not a gay business per se but more a place that accommodates big groups of revelers. That wasn't such a bad thing because hey, they were offering 2-for-1 margaritas. How could we resist? We started with our first pair of MX$175 Classic Margaritas (Photo 8). Quite a kick with a salty rim, and then we realized we had another one coming. We knew we better eat something, so we ordered a couple of salads to share to clear our conscience. First up was the MX$230 Ensalada Griega, a fresh Mediterranean-style combination of cucumber, tomato, red onion, bell pepper, Kalamata olives, and feta cheese drizzled with olive oil, oregano, and lemon (Photo 7). The other salad was the MX$295 Ensalada Burrata, a sweeter, more Italianate salad with arugula, roasted pear, pistachios, and burrata dressed with olive oil and lemon (Photo). I liked this one more as I was swaying to the muzak. We were really getting into the warmed dinner rolls as our second round of margaritas arrived (Photo 6). Thoroughly sloshed, we saw our entree arrive. It was pretty standard, the MX$295 Fajitas de Pollo, chicken fajitas with bell peppers, onion, black and refried beans, paprika, guacamole, and tortilla chips (Photo 10). You'd think we had enough, but our snockered state drove us to dessert, the MX$140 Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream (Photo 4) and the MX$100 Helados de la Casa, a triple scooper with marscarpone (Photo 5). Oh yes, we be done now. We did not have food here but you can and I saw many who were eating lunch. We just wanted a rest and a view under the shade. Perfect spot. One downside though, because of where we were ( right in the heart of the tourist area) the beggars and people touting their goods was overwhelming. Especially to see children as young as three doing it. As long as you are ok with that, it's a great spot to sit and rest, out of the Afternoon sun. The people watching ... I could do it for hours. Loved it. They also have free WiFi. Prices... American prices .. that's what happens when you are in the middle of the tourist scene.
