It was a holiday, Memorial Day, so we had to wait to get the tire patched on Tuesday morning at Pepboys. A patch would not suffice due to TWO nails in the tire. This Pepboys in Fajardo honestly assessed the problem, and even negotiated with my car rental agency over the phone about the cost. Gama was patient & persistent. This was not MY car, but a rental, and he discussed with the rental agency regarding payment of the tire... with minimal hassle to me. They fixed the problem within two hours... allowing me to enjoy the rest of my vacation in peace. GOOD JOB GAMA AND PEPBOYS FAJARDO. Heading back from Humacao with supplies and I hear a tapping coming from the rear of the car…read more.. I slow down to 70mph, the tapping diminishes... At 60 it disappears... Back up to 80 and it starts again, this time louder and with confidence... I pull over and inspect. Nothing to be found... Back up to 80 and I hear a rhythm section back there... Then... BOOM! The real right tire explodes... Tread flies everywhere... It ripped the bumper cover right off the fender. Spare tire is new thank goodness. Unfortunately it was under a full load of supplies which I had to redistribute onto the side of the highway. Cases of beer, sacks of tomatoes, liquor... The passerby were elated at the sight. Horns honking, requests for beer... Lots of cat calls... Make a longer story short. My peeps at Sanchez Tire slapped a new tire on, re-rigged the bumper cover and sent me off to battle in a matter of minutes...

Our car had a tire that would not hold air. We took the car to 3 other places to see if we could…read morefind out why it wouldn't hold air and to get it repaired. All of them took the tire off and put it through the "bubble" bath to identify any leaks and told us it had no problems. When we attempted to get it repaired none of them wanted to do anything. Finally in one internet search I discovered that there is a PepBoys in the same building as one of the other larger Auto Parts stores in Fajardo. Took the car there and they did the same thing with the "bubble" added air and asked me to come back in two days if the problem persisted. I did that, and they just said, OK we will take another look at it. They took about an hour and handed me my keys and said you are all set. That was it. Its now been a week and the tire definitely is holding air. No attempt to get money for the tire, just you brought it to us, we didn't get it fixed, we will this time and voila, it is now fixed. I'll go back and I will send anyone that wants to listen to go there too.
