Went here for lunch on a random Thursday and it was rather busy. Everyone seemed friendly and courteous to talk about their neighborhood spot. After we ordered the helium left the room. 30 minutes later we finally were given our foot after multiple locals came and went with their meals prior to considering giving us ours. This is a true hometown place who could care less about outside business. Remember you are an afterthought when you visit here if you weren't born here. PS, the food is average at best. read more

The is a nice family restaurant, with at least three generations filling most of the positions. They are friendly and attentive and serve very good diner meals. A limited breakfast menu is served all day. The place seems well worn and is really in need of some serious repairs and maintenance to be an excellent diner. They excel on food and service but to be great takes more. read more

What a great find this place was while passing through. I can't speak of their meat and 3 because we got burgers.. but they looked great. Now those burgers fresh hand patted beef.. no frozen patty perfectly crispy bacon they were amazing! I got the fried okra and it was good too. Crispy but not overcooked no stale grease flavor.. my boyfriend had the curly fries. We both ate every bite which hardly ever happens. I will definitely stop again if we are back that way! There are breakfast places and BREAKFAST places. I am a Southern girl from Virginia who has lived the past 10 years in large metropolitan cities in the west coast, east coast and Midwest. I am a lover of brunch! Unfortunately brunch has become expensive and low quality. Not here. Fresh home made biscuits. Large pancakes. Two people, two meals, two coffees less than 20 dollars. We decided to give this small town diner a try with high hopes, but left quite disappointed. Upon arrival, we ordered our drinks and had to ask for refills multiple times (after gaining the attention of the waitress) throughout our dining experience. There were only two other tables occupied in the diner and service was very slow. Our waitress was young and spent most of the time sitting at a table loudly chatting with another employee. After waiting nearly an hour for two burger meals, our order arrived lacking flavor and it seemed that the fries had been made for awhile. I truly hope this was just an off day for the employees, but we will not be back. read more

Stopped for a quick bite. Walked in, empty tables everywhere. Waited at least 10 minutes before a server addressed me. Ordered a simple cheeseburger with home fries. 45 minutes later, no burger. I got up to leave just as the server brought my food. The burger was as cold and nasty as a hockey puck. No lettuce, tomato, pickle... nothing! The fries were 1/2 cooked, greasy and cold. No condiments offered, no silverware. I sat for 45 minutes for that? All that time, not a single employee addressed me nor offered a coffee refill. I took one bite of the cold, undressed puck and even the role was stale. All this for $10. I informed the cashier. Her response? "Oh". read more

A good place to stop to eat! This local cafe serves up breakfast anytime and lunch in downtown Celina. They are also open later on Fridays for dinner too. The place has a homey inviting feel inside, which has table and booth seating, walls decorated with local pictures. Since it was almost Halloween, there were also scary decorations too. As for the food here, they serve breakfast anytime including egg platters, pancakes, French toast, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, taters, biscuits & gravy. Lunch offerings include burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, fries, fried appetizers, salads, plate lunches (meat & veg), dinner plates (steaks, chicken, chops, fish, shrimp), side dishes, and desserts (pies, ice cream, fried oreos). The prices here seem pretty reasonable, most items under $6. They also have a dollar menu for breakfast and lunch and a kids menu. Coke products served here. Daily specials are offered here and folks can call the restaurant and the waitress will recite the specials over the phone. On Friday nights, All You Can Eat Frog Legs or Catfish ($10.95) served with white beans, fries, or baked potato, slaw & hush puppies are offered here. While passing through Celina, we stopped in here for a light brunch very recently. We took a seat in a booth along the wall and looked over the menus at the table. My friend ordered a light breakfast including Coffee ($1.25), 1 Scrambled Egg & Bacon ($3.50) and 2 Biscuits ($0.60 each). I ordered a few lunch items including a Fried Bologna Sandwich ($1) on white bread, Chicken Strip Sandwich ($1) served on a bun with mayo, Small Crinkle Cut French Fries ($1), and Fried Green Tomatoes ($2.25) with ranch dipping sauce. The food here was pretty standard American fare, which tasted pretty darn good and just the right amount of food. I especially enjoyed those fried green tomatoes! The service here was prompt and hospitable and we would return here again if we happen to be in Celina again. read more

Great breakfast! The food was cooked to order - eggs perfect. They have the best coffee around. Everything was served good & hot; service was efficient and the waitress was friendly, but not overbearing. This is a small establishment, certainly nothing fancy. Fresh tenderloin was not so fresh and the biscuits were hard and chewy even with gravy! Won't be back!
