Zagu was my favorite childhood treat and was the only shake place around and it's been serving up great drinks for now almost 20 years. Zagu has survived all the crazes and is still going strong today. Zagu offers shakes with great flavors and with tapioca pearls for added texture and flavor. Classic Pinoy flavors and Zagu favorites are Buko Pandan and Ube but it's the Cookies and Cream flavor I love the most. Zagu may not be using the freshest ingredients and most if not all its shakes are made from powdered flavoring agents it still remains a Pinoy favorite because of the familiarity of its flavors, its affordable prices, (which cannot be said for most shake places nowadays) and of course its great taste.

It's a pearl milkshake drink that just really caught the hearts of a lot of kids before. I would always order their Strawberry flavor but it eventually changed to Buko Pandan. I just really love the refreshing drink! It's like a creamy slush of your chosen flavor mixed with "sago" or pearls as what people nowadays call it. They offer various sizes depending on your appetite. They also have all sorts of flavors that would cater to anyone's taste! It's just a really good drink. My wife reasoned that since they were in SM Aura anyway, why not give their milk tea place a try. So she ordered one for herself, liked it, and brought me home a plastic cup, large size which meant it cost about a hundred bucks. The marketing gimmick of Gong Cha is to have even more variants than its competitors, of which I can no longer count. I must admit that their fruit milk teas are outstanding. Some businessmen see this craze as dying out soon, but others say that milk tea is a staple from Japan top China to India. Since Filipinos have acquired a taste for it, milk teas are here to stay, it seems. If so, I expect Gong Cha to still be around decades from now.
