The bathrooms are large and clean and the hot water is very hot. Wifi is 4 euros extra, and there is a biergarden on site but it has very short hours. Another plus, it is a five min. walk from the S6 train line Essen-Werden stn. This place really was a great place to call home while visiting all that the Ruhrgebiet had to offer.

The site is very clean, showers hot and tidy, on site there is plenty of things to do, ie cycling and lovely walks along the Rhein bank plus huge grassed area for children to play. The bar and restaurant on site is good, the gem is a 4 minute ferry trip across the river to an old part of Dusseldorf ( not THE alt Stadt ) where there is a castle and a quaint shopping area. We stayed on this site 07/2025 for a week in our motorhome and enjoyed our stay and Dusseldorf. ( It is outside of the ulez zone and easy to find. )

Unfriendly owner tried to charge us 3 times the nightly rate! Not sure if it was the GB license…read moreplates or that we were 2 men. We think he phoned a nearby camp site (Rheincamping Meerbusch/ Breitbach & Brix), as we went there next and he said that they were full. They clearly weren't. The miserable man at reception said "Have you tried our competitor in Lörick?" and grinned! Camping Platz Lörick has very bad reviews on Camping sites.. I don't recommend either!!
