    Blueberry Pie (slice to go)
    Matthew W.

Good Enough to Eat is really good enough to eat, but just barely. Got allured by their pies outside and ordered a blueberry slice to go. While they looked delicious, I personally think the visuals were better than the taste. I enjoyed that it wasn't too sweet, and it tasted fairly fresh. They also give you a pretty large serving per slice. However, it wasn't exactly flavorful, and pricing-wise, it wasn't cheap either ($11 per slice). Definitely wasn't the best pie I've ever had, nor the best value - I'd likely give it a 7/10. I'd probably try a different pie, if I ever come back; would recommend heating up in the oven and adding ice cream to it, as you do with most pies.

The fruity drinks were delightful. Good vibes!. Their veggie burger was delicious, and oh my, it was in a pita pocket. Delicious!

Delicious food for breakfast, lunch, or brunch - or even just cocktails. The sandwiches are large and satisfying. The atmosphere and the service is always excellent. The menu says they've been on the Upper West Side for 44 years, so that says a lot.

Came here for breakfast with a friend after running a race in Central Park. I wish I could say we had a great experience but the service from the waiter we had ruined it for us. It was as if he didn't even want to wait on our table. It took a while to get his attention to even place our orders. And when the food came, not ONCE did he come by and ask how everything was and if we needed anything. Yet he kept waiting on the other two tables beside us and took the table next to us' order way sooner than he had with us. We had to ask who I believe was the hostess, for condiments and the check. Our waiter didn't even make eye contact with us, which I thought was very rude (and that's coming from someone who used to be a waitress). As for the food, my friend and I ordered the Astoria Omelette and Provençal Omelette which were good - nothing crazy. I don't know if I'd come back here for the sole purpose of the terrible service.

Super busy on Sunday afternoon, however that is expected, not the best seating arrangements, extremely loud on the inside. I think the food was really the saving grace for this experience, I would like to return maybe on a less packed day. I recommend the home fries! Very kind and understanding waitstaff!

Very cozy brunch place to chill at near Central Park. The food is very fresh and packed full of flavor. Their strawberry butter is out of this world! Goes very well with their biscuits which comes with most of their meals.

Good enough to eat... yeah it was just good enough lol. Good enough to eat has an interesting vibe, i'm not really sure what the vibe is, but I was just told from 5pm it turns into a Greek Restaurant! So I may come back for that! Anyways the food was interesting... not horrible! My friends got the migas omlette and I made my own protein style impossible burger. The migas was very interesting and honestly confusing. The presentation was not there, but it was "Good Enough. The fires were the best part of both of our meals, which that should never be the case. My burger was hard to handle, I think they should have used different pieces of lettuce, but it was "good enough".

Used to be amazing- now has fallen into a sad state. $70 dollars including the tip for under seasoned chili cup (not bowel), over cooked fries on a salmon sandwich that is flavorless, a tuna melt that was soggy, and service that was friendly but reluctant. The decor is torn chairs and chipped walls - not in a fun art deco style but in the way a place that has just let itself go. It's sad. Back in 2006 there would be a line waiting to get in because the food was amazing. Now it's a shell of its former self.

What a delightful spot for breakfast! The upbeat morning playlist, friendly and helpful wait staff, delicious two-stack pancakes and side of scrambled eggs, and French press coffee made for a joyful and satisfying start to the day. The decor is bright and sunny, with nice outdoor seating for a warmer day. I ordered basics to get a sense of the foundation of the place, and I agree with all reviews that the strawberry butter is the perfect sweet and creamy to top a multi-grain cake. My ONE critique is that I thought the eggs had a tad too much butter. I don't like that added heaviness after a few bites, but that's more taste than quality. I learned this place has terrific pie. I'll be back!

Service was good, our waitress was nice. My husband had the Deep South and he said the sausage tasted a bit weird. My daughter had the Lumberjack upgraded to the Peter Paul pancakes. I had the strawberry almond waffle that came with the strawberry butter that did complement the waffle that I had. The food was decent.

    Corned Beef and Chorizo Hash

Came in for breakfast and decided to go with the hash. The flavor and color the chorizo gave to it were fantastic however I would've liked the potatoes to be smaller and crispier, also one of my poached eggs was overcooked and the other was undercooked. The place is cute and the service was pleasant.

Ask the Community - Good Enough to Eat

I'm looking to have a brunch after my wedding ceremony . Do they take reservations for a larger party?

You'll have to call to ask. The place isn't that big so hopefully your party is small.

Are there gluten free options for breakfast/brunch?

    Yes, there are.

Is a drink included in the price of the brunch?

Everything on the menu is a la carte - there is not a set price for brunch. Drinks are not included.

Seriously, there has to be something wrong with you. My sister is one of the pickiest eaters that I know. Always has been and always will be. She just started eating raw onions several years ago and still doesn't like cooked onions. Even she was able to find something at Jacob's Pickles and it delicious. With regards to the rest of what we ordered, we ordered the Hog In A Blanket as our appetizer and both my daughter and sister ordered the Grilled Salmon Salad. I ordered the Turkey Leg braised in white wine and served with whipped potatoes, Rosemary Biscuit Stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce and gravy. The Hogs in a Blanket were their version of Pigs In a Blanket. The major difference being that Jacob's Pickles are served in puff pastry and with their own house made pickles. Yummy! The salmon salad was served with baby greens, sliced oranges, red onion, cilantro and a light orange vinaigrette. Everything and I do mean everything was delicious. It was a gut-buster of a meal and everything was perfectly prepared. The salmon was expertly cooked and the turkey literally fell away from the bone and tendons of the turkey leg. Just plain old good food in an attractive homey setting wins out all of the time! It's a must go!

We were enjoyed a really great tasting beer called lunch ipa and an ok vodka martini and waiting til 4:30 to try out their happy hour. While hanging out we noticed there was a really hard working guy behind the bar squeezing out what looked like gallons of limes. He seemed to have such a good attitude. Later we saw him very busy keeping things cleaned up and tossing bags of trash out. He never stopped working the whole time we were there. I thought wow, if everybody cared about their job like this guy did, everything would run more smoothly. I had to ask his name I was so impressed. His name is Fredo and I just had to give him a shout out. Happy hour meanwhile was not as varied as we remember from a few months ago but the flights of cocktails looked charming served on a raised three hole metal stand and the calamari with French bread was great and large for a small plate.

Time for a stomach reset!…read more This restaurant is not for those who are sensitive to flavor and spice. If salt and pepper are the only two spices you can handle, this is not the restaurant, rather not the cuisine, for you. Thai food is based on a multitude of factors. Colors, variety, and spice. What I got here reflects all of that, even if my pictures show a large shade of brown. My first item is the Kao Soi Ped, a coconut curry noodle soup with duck and shallots. I was incredibly afraid to eat the whole thing because coconut curry is a natural laxative. However, the dry noodles and crispy (and rather tasty) duck probably saved me from potential embarrassment. The dish evolved from a chow mein into almost like a duck ramen, which actually made it fun to eat despite the insane flavor bomb it packed. My go-to at any Thai restaurant is a Drunken Noodle, better known as a Pad Kee Mao. It carries quite a punch to the mouth in flavor. There is also plenty of variance on the plate with ample noodles and chicken. The amount of vegetables to protein to noodle is appropriately proportionate to each other. Not one piece of this dish is out of place. The spice also countered the richness of the curry and to my surprise, I finished the whole thing. I never go to a Thai restaurant without ordering a Thai Iced Tea, and this one does it as well as one can make it. My advice is to order it and save it for later, when the heat and flavors need some temperance from taking over your stomach, throat, and later, perhaps your bowels. For Upper West Side standards, this is par for the course in terms of price and value. It is also close by the 1 train when it comes to convenience, but keep in mind the kitchen closes for a bit as the restaurant shifts from lunch mode to dinner mode. Good thing the restaurant is not far from a few distractions to keep you entertained if you want to dine here but do not live in the neighborhood. Or you could just plan your trip accordingly like any normal person and stop in after 4:30 pm if you want to come here for dinner. Enjoy the experience.

He returned a few minutes later to tell us her informed by the older woman working there (not Nina based on pics from their website) we couldn't sit outside if we're just drinking. We explained we wanted to eat, but for now while waiting we'd have drinks. And then we sat there. Waiting. 15 minutes went by and we finally were able to order drinks waiting for the table to be cleaned. We saw a party of 5 enter and speak to the woman about having our table. We said to the man we're waiting on that table and he said yes its yours no need to worry. Next thing we know the woman sat the other party at the table we waited 22 minutes for. We pointed this out to the man. He was silent and didn't know what to say.
